Competitive price is so important. Additionally people going in to low might be a red flag to someone buying. I know when I look and see something so much lower I’d rather go with something middle of the way. I worry something is wrong with something priced so low that I’m missing.
I just listed in on marketplace and put attn resellers and posted for $50. The sell through rate is awesome for new open box. And also stated about the pods being discontinued. So if anyone is in the Kansas city area 😉😂
How do you balance that with trying to get rid of an item… like if I have an item sitting around for a while I price it at like 1.99 plus shipping.. do you think that’s a red flag? Thanks
Thank you for sharing your experience as a reseller. I have been following your channel for several months now and I love it! I just joined the game of reselling and I am having a great time with it. Not really ready to do videos of the shopping part, I’m not quite comfortable with seeing me on one! Keep up the good work and God bless your year with much success.
My top 5 important thing in getting good sales are no 1, consistency in listing, then a great title, lots of great close-up photos with a plain contrasting background, great condition descriptions, and last item specifics. The more information you can give a potential buyer, the better. I also want to talk about my biggest pet pieve and that is when a person gets lazy and takes one photo of a multiple item listing and then just chops up that photo to make more photos rather than re-positioning the stuff and showing new photos from different angles.
I have only promoted a handful of times. I do not like it and do not feel it necessary for my business. I do take LOTS of pictures and video when there is sound or movement in the item. I also put good titles and fill out most item specifics. I also do not run sales or use coupons. I hardly ever even put "best offer" on my items, but people still message me with offers all the time. I do make offers and get some sales that way. Very important for me is to end and sell similar, making a few changes to the listing. I try to do this on items that have not sold in 6 months to a year.
When I hear "flat rate shipping" I think of shipping in flat rate shipping boxes which I don't think is cost effective for the buyer most of the time unless you have a veryy heavy item that fits in one of the flat rate boxes. I think you mean fixed rate shipping instead, meaning you have put a specific fixed rate of shipping on an item regardless of where it is going to, that you have figured out based on the size and weight of the shipping package.
Always do flat rate. Feels like the buyer wants to know exactly what they're paying in shipping. If its an item I'm into cheap I'll do a low shipping amount than normal. It helps with sales
Re: pictures…make sure the background isn’t an old dusty basement or garage, it makes the buyer think the item has been sitting in a musty basement for a long time
Great Video Kevin and Happy New Year in the “Best of Health Happiness and Prosperity to you and your Entire Families! Hugs to BRM and the children. Stay Safe and Stay Positive Always. Love this video.💜🤗♥️🇺🇸🙏
Agree 100%, though I'm not doing flat rate shipping, the total price is super important. I see some people doing free shipping but with their price, they aren't making much with what they have to pay for shipping.
Price is number 1--agreed. eBay is almost uniquely price sensitive. Price comparisons are just a click away and, especially for we 'generalist' non-niche sellers, there is little to no 'brand loyalty'. I know that I certainly don't go out of my way to use the same sellers--why bother when eBay protects me as a buyer however good or bad the seller?
Took me a minute to figure out what he meant. I kept trying to put a letter between the a and e. Should have been obvious considering the theme of the channel.
Price is always key. But buying is more important. Pricing is predicated on 3 things. Ack cost... IRR... and aRoR... So make sure you're buying something at a good price in order to be able to resell within market worth. If you blow the buy then you're going to lose the sale...
I need help! I have a feeling Kevin won’t notice this but can I ask anyone else with selling something. I bought a Drinkworks Home Bar Pro by Keurig, Premium Instant Cocktail Maker, I bought it 6 months before Keurig decided to stop making the pods for it back in late 2021. I was going to order some pods in 2023 that is when I found out they discontinued it and the pods can not be found anywhere. I have noticed that people are selling their machines but not disclosing it. What would you do? I just want to try to recoup my money 😢 it was expensive.
As a reseller, personally I would not sell it or donate it. To the trash it goes. As a buyer I would be upset if I purchased something that is discontinued and did not have a disclosure. Unfortunately sometimes we win and sometimes we lose, it is part of the reselling business. Sorry for your misfortune.
Sometimes when something is discontinued it values it higher. Anything old or antique doesn't even work anymore etc and its still sold. Discontinued items can be more valuable and I sell a lot.of vintage. Just put retired on the listing. Ppl a lot of.times are collectors of things , not buy to use.
Did you find the "damnit dolls and enemen" from what you refer to as "sources" (you mentioned it is important to have "sources" in your other video}? I didn't know if that meant people whom you buy things "in bulk")
Hello Kevin very nice video as always I’ve started doing promoted listing to experiment with it and I’ve had about four sales with it but I do a 2.6 % I would like to see your video on the coupon because I got the basic store front would it be possible to send me the link to see how I can navigate on the seller eBay hub to get my coupon please
Happy New Year Kevin - It was very cool watching my item picked and you reading my message. The Anna Lee frog arrived and is sitting with the others - soon to be packed away until next Christmas.
Postage going up January 21. More money for the Post Office and Ebay (getting fees from the increase) and more money out of sellers and buyers pockets. Guess that is nothing new. Thx for another great video. I see you survived another Q4. lol
I have little storage and most that I source is long tail. That said before I started watching TH-cam resellers I was walking by many bolos that do turn over fast. So now my store flows instead of dribbling. I hate promoting but I have to because my main items can in part get lost in the shuffle. I do the bare minimum plus+ .1.I do calculated but most of mine is media mail so it’s not that big a deal.
Just a suggestion along your theme to promote buying on eBay with eBay gift cards would you consider doing a video of the top 5 considerations for first time eBay buyers such as Read the description to fully understand the item being purchased old or new Check out the number of items previously sold on eBay Read the previous buyers feedback for this seller Checkout the sellers status with eBay Return policy with eBay if something is not correct First time buyers don’t understand the selling structure of eBay
Yes it's a good list. Promoted - I do not promote the first 200 of my 1400 listings. The first 200 are the newest to be listed. Looking at listings 200 per page it's easy to keep up just promoting the 2nd - 7th pages of listings at 5.1% It seems to help sales of long tail items.
Hi Keven, I’m sitting here Visiting My Mom in ELA and I showed her the Green Bowel you sold from Pioneer woman, She is a Professional Chief on Foods Channel 😊 Good Pick up 🛍️
Title. price. picture. First they are looking for the item. So you have to have the title right. Second they are looking for the cheapest one. I sell mainly clothing. The picture is to show the condition of the item. I'm not going to promote or pay for adds. Ebay already gets enough of are money!
Sorry Kevin…I disagree. “If a man can’t find it, they can’t buy it”… doesn’t matter what you price or, or most anything else… they’ve gotta be able to find it.
Competitive price is so important. Additionally people going in to low might be a red flag to someone buying. I know when I look and see something so much lower I’d rather go with something middle of the way. I worry something is wrong with something priced so low that I’m missing.
Me too have to agree
For sure
I agree!! Ive even raised my prices snd then item sold lol several times lol

I just started selling on eBay this week. So I can use all the advice I can get. Thanks
Good snowy morning from Indiana!

Doesn't work for me at all. Waist of money

I having great minute Amazon has helped me twice trouble.😊 Yes it's hard but happy😊
Great video! Thanks! Also thank you for reminding me about my q4 coupon!! lol
End items. Sell similar.
Rainy Saturday here in SC, not out picking today, first!
Such like Christmas when post😊
Never would complain about number of tools to open your😊
Re: pictures…make sure the background isn’t an old dusty basement or garage, it makes the buyer think the item has been sitting in a musty basement for a long time
It’s so funny, Yahtzee is just dice and paper lol but it’s fun😊
Yup, overall price and rarity like in vintage glass and home decor 🎉🎉
Great Sellers have better sell through rates!
I do 2% and most of my sales are organic sales not promoted.
My girlfriend loves the bracelet, thank you again!!!
I'm so glad!

Great content! Nailed it.
Totally agree about shipping. We now list everything with ground shipping but actually ship priority. Usually at the same price.
👍
What are Slaes?
I agree. So many small things go into maintaining a good store.
I have a question. I have boxes of random trading cards is it better to sell a lot by team or just a random lot?
Not really the guy to ask on this one
That is my main gig. I would pull out the better stuff and lot the rest up by teams. Random lots of sports cards do not bring much cash.

Spell check in titles? Lol

Slaes on ebay heh
I had to read it twice. At first I thought it said slaves.
Your thumbnail says " getting slaes on ebay". That had me confused.

I’d sell it. Many people may have stockpiled what they need Or created a work around. You can disclose it in the description

Sell it. Do disclose. Don't worry about why people buy stuff just accurately describe it ❤❤❤

The eneman yes the dolls no
Thanks.
@@commonwealthflipper I dunno... you've referred to me as a source of frustration. Just sayin'

How do you find the sell through rate on e bay sales. Been on eBay since1999 and I have never even heard of this. Thank you
Happy New Year Kevin - It was very cool watching my item picked and you reading my message. The Anna Lee frog arrived and is sitting with the others - soon to be packed away until next Christmas.
Hey Oh!!
Great content
Sold the same Deluxe Yahtzee about a week ago pre owned for $35. Paid $2 for it. Sold within 24 hours!
From an English teacher to a history teacher, you are making us baseball coaches look bad. Check the spelling on your thumbnail. 😂
Lol I noticed that too..😅

Yay! The banjo is back!
I have that pioneer woman basket for personal use I bought years ago.

Hey Kevin! Is it too late to redo your thumbnail on this video?
I struggle with my shipping rates. I think flat rate works well. But I did free shipping on books and that’s not working. Live and learn!
Returns? Free returns? Is this issue near top 5. Good content thank you!!
❤❤❤
Hi Keven, I’m sitting here Visiting My Mom in ELA and I showed her the Green Bowel you sold from Pioneer woman, She is a Professional Chief on Foods Channel 😊 Good Pick up 🛍️
That is awesome!
Your thumbnail has "sales" mispelled so you know.
I promote because I sell random things 😂
Kev, you might want to correct your thumbnail for your video bud.
Price price price price price? How did I do? :)
thumbnail fail, Slaes. Something I could see myself doing as well. Good topics though, enjoyed the video.
