The chocolate coloured material is called 'Sheeras' not Suresh as you said in the video....it's a kind of adhesive material used as binder....when cooked in water it gives out smell like cooking fish. This is quite a popular binding solution at traditional book binding shops..... I have been seeing this since my childhood.

whatever you hv used for your manja..that is gum extract from lebbak tree...in bengali it is shiris atha...you can try adding gum extract of gum arabic tree...in bengali gum from 'babla tree'...u hv used egg in your masala...but this manja will not last for years...don't use egg...🙏...by the way your process of making manja was very much popular in west bengal....we used to do it on chain reel and jpc reel.....💚

Best recipe is Rice flour Soap Aloveera Glasspowder made from goli soda bottles Suhaga Colour Varthaman thread 12 cord, 9 cord or 6 cord And finally it depends on how you apply it on the thread ,for how many coats generally 2 to 3 coats are more than enough after during the last coat run it through very fine glass powder and let it dry for atleast 48 hours in the sun, which means around 3 days this is the best manja you will ever find, NOTE never handle the manja too much , handle as less as possible as using hands over it too much will make it less effective , and always remember the shiniest and the smoothest manja is the best, more smooth it is the better it is ,the shine lets you know the amount of glass used.

Make manjha with Sago (साबूदाना ). It work against mono manjha. Powdered Sago. Boil it. Then add some fevicol (carpenter, not stationary fevicol). Mix glass fine powder. Mix thoroughly. Apply on good thread like chain sakal, Panda, Challenger. Do not use ordinary thread.
