Superlatives for all players. Well done Eddie. Good to see his early use of substitutions. Tonali ran the show for me, swaggering round the Emirates as if he was in a 5 a side training exercise. This inspires confidence in everyone around him.

@freakyalien5449 Sacrifices the foreign players first. Sold Saint Maximin when he shouldn't have been. Favours British players ahead of better foreign players. The next 4 league games are very favourable and I know we should NEVER take anything for granted, especially with Newcastle, but 12 point from those games puts us right up there. I’m here for it
How long have we waited for a team like this man. One that can blast teams off the park but also go away and get tough results defending like warriors. Years and years as a young un (50 here now) were spent ear to the radio on a saturday as we only came alive in the last 10 mins of a match when it was oh too late...when guys like Wayne Fereday stood picking his arse on the halfway line
How great is it to be a toon supporter right now. Loved the excitement in your voice Craig. Saw Botman with family at the airport this morning, so reckon Eddie will be giving him some well deserved time off
3am before my mind switched off. We've not seen a Newcastle team like this before. The commitment, quality and resoluteness in what they do is phenomenal. HWTLs!
All the 'Howe out' mob are not evident now are they? No faith. No club in the country has a coach who possesses the skills of Eddie Howe. Wonderful team performance...
They are hibernating in the woodwork & itching to come back out. The worms will return, but the true supporter’s will be always there to back the club through the good time’s & bad times. Eddy Howe has showed us, he is an elite manager.
I was worried there would be nothing for Arteta to complain, whinge and bitch about. But don't worry guys.... He is blaming the ball this time!!! The guy is a genius ⚽⚽⚽
Yep, it feels like most fans would have played him there, yet he reveals in his Keith Downie interview that he had been getting trained on how to play the 8 when he was banned. Baffling! It's like intentional sabotage that we persisted with Bruno 6 and Tonali 8 for so long, when Bruno wanted to play the 8 and most fans would have wanted Bruno as 8 and Tonali as 6.
The willingness of our defenders to make the series of blocks they did can not be underestimated nor understated, if the arsenal players were of a similar mindset last night you could argue both our goals were preventable. If you imagine martinelli being presented with the same opportunity as Gordon’s goal you just can’t imagine there would not have been Tino and another throwing themselves ahead of him. Isak quite rightly picking up the plaudits at the moment but his goals are giving us victories on the back of the defence holding up their end of the bargain. Brilliant again lads 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I would have been happy with a draw but two goals and a clean sheet away in the first leg of a semi final of the league cup? Wow. Just wow. Can't wait for the home leg so pleased I signed up for the cup scheme at the start of the season.
To say the defence was ab solid is an understatement!! Its the platform for this recent success. What did Howe say to them after Brentford away? Wow!! HTLs
Great report, Craig. I can’t remember a better all round team performance like this. So many people put everything on the line last night. We had a bit of luck but you make your own luck and that defensive performance earned a bit of luck. It was magnificent.

Eddie & the staff have him playing the best ever, along with Murph, surely can work the magic on Osula ready for Sunday! No better team for me than us right now, joy to watch! Hope Isak & Botman are ok. Was worried tonight would be too much.
Absolutely astounding didn’t see that coming at all for all the good recent games, my only fear now is that someone comes in with a big offer for Isak ! And if that was Dubs last game thank you you did us proud!
They just keep getting better, and better and better. I absolutely adore this club. Great group of lads. Edited: this might be similar to PSG as a statement game. Teams are starting to fear Newcastle. Wow, did I say that?
Best teams in my time at the Shrine. Cup winners in 50's. Entertainers with KK. Eddie's heroes. The potential from this group of players is collossal. Not a weakness and do they ever fight fir the shirt. Proud to be a Geordie! HTL!
Great performance again from the lads, I think the confidence they are showing is helped massively by Martin Dubravka you can clearly see the confidence the defence has in him, they use him all the time. They don't use Pope in the same way. It will be a big gamble to let him leave. Great content Craig thanks.
I don’t remember a version of this team that has consistently clicked in all parts of the game, going forward, defending, all of it looks so easy at the moment
Great video Craig. What a time to be alive. I had the pleasure of being at the game and the atmosphere was bouncing start to finish driven on by a warrior like performances from the whole team. On this occasion I feel the merit stars just aren’t enough to reflect the performance of the team but I do like the headline ‘Block Party’.
I still think the turning point was when the players had a meeting Bruno and Isak talked about after the Brentford game. The Eddie out brigade were out. I remember watching TTR (brilliant Paul and the lads) , some were asking for Eddie's head. The players can see the pressure on a manager they love was all due to them. They were about 14th at the time. They spoke about results and intensity, working for each other , winning expected games and even v so called top teams was the message. The first performance after Brentford was something i saw a couple of seasons ago when NUFC claimed CL spot. I told my mate at work Newcastle will go on to win every game from here on. A Westham fan, he laughed at me. Now he thinks am a genius :) . The reason i believed Newcastle can beat any team is because other teams , even Liverpool are not all that. With Man City having issues since Pepe had a fight with the goal keeper and came out with scratches and a bleeding nose told me they were not going to be the same team. Arsenal do not have a striker and i have never seen them get excited over winning a corner in my life. They're not great from open play. Spurs and Man Utd are miles off. There really isn't a team you can say is top class in the PL. Liverpool just like Arsenal do not really have a striker. Their main striker is so rubbish in front of goal , he does not even get to start nowadays. Salah, and refs have been carrying them this season but for how long? I can see Newcastle winning their coming PL games and they will be right in the mix. They believe they can win trophies this season and they will. YOu can see in the way they play what their objective for this season really is, winning. If they can keep winning their PL games home and away, they have the quality to do it, they can get in the title race. I cannot see a better front line, or midfield in the PL. There are a lot of games to play and if they can believe they can win the league and give it everything, they can. There i have said it, they have beaten some of the top teams and if they keep the focus and win their upcoming 4 PL games, they will be right in the mix. I can see others above them drop points, inc Liverpool. They're not special. NUFC could and should have beaten them if the ref did not end the game the way he did. Even Man City will get back i the title race now that they seem to have sorted their differences. Who knew Forest would be 3rd in January???? that is how weak things are at the top so keep going, believe and you will be surprised where you can get. This season remind me a lot of the season Leicester won the league. KEEP ISAK fit, and you can win the PL or finish 2nd. Its there is you want it. CL spot for me is almost guaranteed if they keep playing the way they have been. Newcastle made a statement winning games, AWAY at big teams and others lower down will know a draw v Newcastle would be a good results but i doubt this Newcastle team will allow that. Too much quality all over the pitch. My only worry is that Pope is not great with the ball at his feet and in the modern game, it has a massive impact. Losing Martin at this time is a huge mistake from the club. I hope it won't dent the progress this team is making. Finally, Isak, what a player. If the team keeps playing up, he will keep scoring. 8 in 8 and it could go a lot higher. He's in terrific form. He's one of those players you enjoy watching as he can create something out of nothing and he makes things happen. He's passing ability and football brain as well as the way he stays on side and leave defenders standing is something you do not see from most other strikers.
Always look forward to your upload from Phuket, Thailand. Was up at 3am this morning watching well worth feeling frazzled at work at 10am this morning lol
Another good video; I always look forward to them. I thought it was a fantastic result. I was expecting a close defeat, but I feel we can beat anyone now. It's nice to see Gordon shouting out Burn, calling him our player of the season, as you have said many times over the past month. I thought Tonali was great, he was everywhere and he found a burst of energy towards the end. Murphy and Isak have a great partnership, which reminds me of the partnership Willock and Isak used to have. I've never seen Saliba/Gabriel scared of a forward as they were with Isak today, they were tight with him early and then they stood off him.
Brilliant post-game analysis from you Craig, worthy of our whole-of-team performance. While I agree with your star ratings, it must’ve hurt to leave Hall off the podium - his composure for a 20 year old is simply off the charts. HWTL 😀
Great video Craig that mirrored the great performance on the pitch. You can see how passionate you are and it’s great to see. I love the Siamese B’s line ha ha. I would add that Newcastle may have angered Nintendo because in said twins they have had more blocks than Tetris against Arsenal. I’m in dreamland. 3 away wins against so called top 6 sides on the bounce. Imagine in the Bruceyball dark days or wider Ashley era telling ourselves one day in the not too distant future we would achieve that? Keep up the good work and to borrow from your wet bandits jokes- I don’t think Newcastle are Home Alone any more, we are more like a certain Ozzy 90s show Home and Away these days! 😂 Onto the next game Craig. Cheers 19Mitch84 (X)
wow , an exciting game reaction call....agree with all you say but I have to add to Isak, his passing is sublime ....I was one who had concerns about Eddie recently but he has turned it all around and even tonight when many people , me included thought he was early with his subs ..he was right ....good luck to him ..( but is he talking to Mitchell ) ..cheers .
I wasn’t sure about the two banks of 5 when Eddie made the substitutions, particularly with the removal of Isak. However it proved to be a masterstroke. We defended heroically, and why push for another goal when we can take them back to St James’. Great win.
What I really like is that Eddie Howe changes things up; he’s not stuck in one way of playing like Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim. Neither of those managers are changing to a 5-5-0 formation for the last 20 minutes to see out a brilliant 2-0 win.
That last half hour was great. Defended like lions. Its back to that siege mentality they had two year ago but with added class upfront. Only issue is they had nobody to replace Isak. They need a striker asap.
Surely Dan Burn will get the England call up for the next round of internationals! Did they ever say why Lewis Hall didn’t play last year he is a phenomenal player

Just a note to all the Longstaff detractors, I hope they noted the blocks he put in when he came on, also Miggy came on played to instructions to harass and Harry the opposition, the both did the job that was asked of them, as did the rest of the team with absolute aplomb. Absolute. example of commitment to the cause, every player who took part could be awarded at least one star. Thank you Eddie Howe, back room staff and the whole team for giving this old ex pat Geordie something to be proud of.
What game were you watching? Longstaff was dreadful for his first ten minutes, watching the game play around him......literally! He grew into the game and then went on to have a decent game.
😂 is this Longstaff and Miggys agent.
@@davelangston202I just don’t get it, You come up with a negative & it had to be aimed at Longstaff’s? ffs 😡
Superlatives for all players. Well done Eddie. Good to see his early use of substitutions.
Tonali ran the show for me, swaggering round the Emirates as if he was in a 5 a side training exercise. This inspires confidence in everyone around him.
Shows how we missed Tonali in that CL run, when he was banned.
I had doubts that Botman could last 90 mins after the Spurs game - but he was immaculate. And Tonali was immense. Great team performance.
Followed them since I could remember 65 now. Never seen a better run of games in all that time HWTL!
Well done Craig - performance was so good tonight that it's difficult to do justice to it - but this masterclass of a report does. A real pleasure to listen too.
For as long as Newcastle has Botman and Isak, the top players in the world will follow.
It’s certainly a good starting point!
Great analysis Craig spot on can’t wait for the second leg Eddy and the team have done us proud
Unbelievable never have i once doubted Eddie howe i absolute love the man and what he's doing for our club....and the players every one of them...just wish my dad could of seen this Newcastle today that's is in the making 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍
He's not treated foreign players fairly. He's shit on Dubravka and Almiron
@@DanielCordone9 What do you mean by that? That’s quite an accusation. There are other foreign players in the squad, you know - not just those two (Bruno, Joelinton. Tonali, Isak, Krafth, Botman…) Plus, I’ve only ever heard EH say great things about Miggy.
@freakyalien5449 Sacrifices the foreign players first. Sold Saint Maximin when he shouldn't have been. Favours British players ahead of better foreign players. Pope over Dubravka, Longstaff over Tonali, Wilson over Isak in the Carabau Cup final two years ago. The bloke is prejudice. Look at all the players he tried to sign in the summer. All were British and overpriced
@@freakyalien5449The blokes a SMB. He’s got multiple accounts that he’s been trolling Toon fans on for a couple of years. All stupid, negative comments like Gordon is useless, Howe needs to go, we should have kept Maxi and moved on Gordon, he wanted to sign a 36 year old forward last week who has been bang average in the Algerian first division. The bloke is a muppet with no life, yet has 3/4 TH-cam accounts.
@@gruffy4967 Ah, cheers mate - didn’t know but that makes total sense. Won’t waste any more energy on him then.
Excellent Craig…what a run ! ….credit to you for seeing what so many of our fans couldn’t, not just in Eddie …I honestly think Big Dan Burn is going to get an England call up …what an amazing turnaround considering all the negative noise when he was getting exposed for pace! That was all they saw ..well thankfully Eddie new there was more to it ….I can remember down the years when cartel clubs came after our players having a sense of inevitability …. And often the player wouldn’t hide the fact they wanted the move …not seeing that in Isak , it would send such a huge message if we get him to stay !.
The next 4 league games are very favourable and I know we should NEVER take anything for granted, especially with Newcastle, but 12 point from those games puts us right up there. I’m here for it
Thanks for the video, agree with your star selections. Although Tonali was exceptional in doing the job of two midfielders
Ah, Wayne Fereday… I met him a few years back. Nice guy.
@@craighope_dailymail😂 Sorry Wayne, but I do remember the crowd around me always on at him. One of my favourite tidy players was Kevin Brock, quality
How great is it to be a toon supporter right now. Loved the excitement in your voice Craig. Saw Botman with family at the airport this morning, so reckon Eddie will be giving him some well deserved time off
Uploading at 2am Mr Hope is like many of us Geordies unable to sleep because we are already in Dreamland 😊
Well I’m sat having a beer in Kings Cross, so uploading the video was only right!
Dawson in Congo!! HWTL💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Toon toon! Yeehaaaa! 😂
Amazing night.
But part of me can't help feel where we'd be had tonali been in the 6 from the start of the season...
Likely Tonali wasn't quite fully fit or mentally ready after 10 months out but fair play to EH for making the call, adjusting his mindset
Lots of players weren't performing well at the start of the season. Coaching is more than just giving a player a number.
@levstone415 still think we'd be at least 5 or so points better in the league
Yep, it feels like most fans would have played him there, yet he reveals in his Keith Downie interview that he had been getting trained on how to play the 8 when he was banned. Baffling! It's like intentional sabotage that we persisted with Bruno 6 and Tonali 8 for so long, when Bruno wanted to play the 8 and most fans would have wanted Bruno as 8 and Tonali as 6.
@@sp.8632 For sure however EH is manager whatever the reason he's adjusted his mindset to make that call The team are far better off for this
The willingness of our defenders to make the series of blocks they did can not be underestimated nor understated, if the arsenal players were of a similar mindset last night you could argue both our goals were preventable.
I’m so proud of the team and what they did last night 🖤🤍🖤🤍
Fab vlog craig
The sheer excitement and joy of what you have watched live came out in buckets in your report , your absolutley right this team finds a way to win , fabulous match report mate , keep them coming 🙌👍👍
Thank you DJ!
Graig im sitting here watching your passionate report of the game and im filling up, no kidding I've got a lump in my throat. As far as isak's goal was concerned i felt for a split second he remembered his chance against manure when he chipped it into onana's midrift and made sure this time. Great work Craig excellent vlog.
That’s lovely to hear David.
Great stuff Craig & what a Newcastle team performance 👊🏻
I would have been happy with a draw but two goals and a clean sheet away in the first leg of a semi final of the league cup? Wow. Just wow. Can't wait for the home leg so pleased I signed up for the cup scheme at the start of the season.
To say the defence was ab solid is an understatement!! Its the platform for this recent success. What did Howe say to them after Brentford away? Wow!! HTLs
Winning away at Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal. Unbelievable!!
It's never been done im my lifetime...
Me neither. These trips have been graveyards for results. Best we’ve ever been able to get is scraping a win away at Spurs every few years.
Not sure many clubs have done that back to back in history
what a sequence of results...best in my lifetime
Fantastic video Craig befitting - that - performance. Superbly articulated as ever.
Thank you David!
Great report, Craig. I can’t remember a better all round team performance like this. So many people put everything on the line last night. We had a bit of luck but you make your own luck and that defensive performance earned a bit of luck. It was magnificent.
Hi Craig great video very enjoyable and a good analysis of the game . I usually watch your vids in my lunch time break. But there 25 mins now so have to wait till I get home from work 😂😂😂😂😂
Much appreciated! There’s just too much to talk about! I do want to limit them to 20mins tbh.
Proper team now. No doubt about it
Craig, what a night. I just love your podcast so much emotion.
They done so well! I have to say though when I saw the treble sub I was worried! Those lads came in and just carried on the performance at the same level!!
Just brilliant all of them! 🎉
Brilliant result, awesome all round performance.Real statement. Sad about Dubravka if he goes, I'd rather sell Pope.
To use your word Craig, they were brilliant to a man. Lovely, enthusiastic video which made me smile.
They just keep getting better, and better and better. I absolutely adore this club. Great group of lads. Edited: this might be similar to PSG as a statement game. Teams are starting to fear Newcastle. Wow, did I say that?
Could not have said it better. What a feeling around this team right now.
Amazing times!@@Robert.Sheard
Best teams in my time at the Shrine. Cup winners in 50's. Entertainers with KK. Eddie's heroes. The potential from this group of players is collossal. Not a weakness and do they ever fight fir the shirt. Proud to be a Geordie!
HTL!
Great performance again from the lads, I think the confidence they are showing is helped massively by Martin Dubravka you can clearly see the confidence the defence has in him, they use him all the time. They don't use Pope in the same way. It will be a big gamble to let him leave. Great content Craig thanks.
Yeah, it will cost us European football. British favouritism prevails again
@@DanielCordone9SMB muppet. Who cost us European football last year?
Martin Dubravka.
@gruffy4967 Nope, that was Eddie Howe, Nick Pope, Dan Burn, Lewis Miley and Sean Longstaff
Tino was next level by the way, blocked every cross bar one
i dont always agree with you craig but im with you on eddie hes an elite head coach
I don’t remember a version of this team that has consistently clicked in all parts of the game, going forward, defending, all of it looks so easy at the moment
Simply Tremendous…Geet In man👏👏
About time big Dan got some credi!
Brilliant post! I agree with all of it.
Let's hope all this hard work isn't undone down the road with no investment in the window and injuries cropping up
Always look forward to your upload from Phuket, Thailand. Was up at 3am this morning watching well worth feeling frazzled at work at 10am this morning lol
That’s nice to hear, Nick.

Hi Craig is excellent with his analysis and so up beat in his presentation. A pleasure to listen .
Fantastic assessment Craig, you still didn't run out of superlatives. 👏👏👏
This was a managerial master class from howe , he literally showed everyone just how good of a manager and a coach he actually is
Another good video; I always look forward to them.
Build the new ground now. Prove to our players the club has the same hunger as they do. Please, take the club up the level we all crave.
And get a training centre and youth academy built. Buying, developing and selling players is the way we need to go.
wow , an exciting game reaction call....agree with all you say but I have to add to Isak, his passing is sublime ....I was one who had concerns about Eddie recently but he has turned it all around and even tonight when many people , me included thought he was early with his subs ..he was right ....good luck to him ..( but is he talking to Mitchell ) ..cheers .
Isak - The Iceman comet.... Beyond cool....
Shout out to Dubravka,an able deputy, faultless.
On the performance,OUTSTANDING.
Only half time but one foot in the final.
Superb performance from all the team ... a different class ... long may it continue
Start building the Eddie Howe statue, we're winning the Cup, folks!
Tonight felt like a bit of a statement
Eddie's SOTN ? Etienne Aigner's Statement
@Steve_D1974 😂😂😂
I wasn’t sure about the two banks of 5 when Eddie made the substitutions, particularly with the removal of Isak.
However it proved to be a masterstroke. We defended heroically, and why push for another goal when we can take them back to St James’. Great win.
70% of the surface of the earth is covered by water, the rest is covered by Sandro Tonali.
Great video Craig, fantastic to see the lads play with such toughness, togetherness, resilience and style. Onwards and upwards 👆
Great report mate. Just the right amount of technical knowledge and assessment combined with boyish excitement. Fantastic. 😊
Great show yet sgain thank you great merit stars also
Thanks for listening!
Apparently, it's the "⚽️S Fault," according to Arteta lmao...
