When I served in the Air Force as an aircrew member an Army Ranger was invited to brief us on the tactical portions of evasion. How to move without being seen or mitigate detection when holing up. He made quite an impression and we learned a lot from him. I remember thinking after he left that the enemy doesn't stand a chance against a large force of Rangers with a mission to destroy anything in their way.

It depends . The S.African SASP in Angola had a hard time because the Enemy used to hunt ther and was used to follow Tracks , and that country they knew very well . Not like the SASP .

The first Rangers at the battle of Anzio were sent too far forward while too lightly armed, and something like 700 were captured by crack German armored troops. Hitler then sent his most elite troops to push the American troops into the Med, but the 34th (Red Bull) Division stopped the Germans in hand-to-hand fighting. Hopefully the too-lightly-armed days are over. The greatest American trainer of soldiers, General "Iron MIke" O'Daniel, trained the first American Rangers in Scotland and Ireland. The training and the Rangers are still the toughest!

Fish hook, or J-Hook is textbook Whitetail deer behavior when they approach an area of interest, food source for example. They also use this when spooked and run away, they circle back.

@@baronedipiemonte3990 What blows me away is that only the tiny guys would fit and at times the plane would have to land with damaged landing gear, or if the pod was damaged and couldn't be rotated so the gunner could get out the poor guy was simply smeared onto the runway when it landed....and yet men STILL GOT IN IT ANYWAY. Again, how did they fit their giant titanium balls in?

That tip to use the "hide site" as a shelter against the weather, not just for "tactical" purposes, is one of the most sensible military-inspired tips I've heard so far. I think I'll just call it a "shelter site" or "safety site" for my own, civilian purposes.
    Thanks!

hey there Kevin . you said in this video that you cant tell us everything due to it being classified . is there a difference between what is used today and what has been used in previous generations of the military . i.e. ww2 and or Vietnam that was classified but is now declassified . that can be used to improve what you have already told us . just a thought . this is now my goto survival info . i really enjoy your no nonsense approach . there are other youtubers that have good info although they water it down and spread it thin over many videos with alot of fluff and filler for entertainment purposes . your approach is by far the best for practical application . raw and brutal info with no nonsense . Kudos my friend .

Things have changed over the years with technology, enemy, urban dwellings, etc. however, many techniques are still the same. Some of the things that can't be said concern information between recovery forces and isolated personnel. I want to give a lot of information, but I can only disclose open source material and my own techniques and tactics. One thing that could be included is vignettes from survivors. I met a handful of survivors in my experience that have amazing stories.
