Home Depot sells a six pack of cube led lights, battery powered too. I stuck two of those in my trunk area for more light. Use the adhesive Velcro, it doesn’t leave any residue. You could install led lights in the actual square panels (on the inner door of the tailgate) that does require running some wire to the battery.
I bought the Weathertech in channel visors, they look much cleaner and no glue on the body of the vehicle. More on the expensive side, but worth every penny.
Congrats on the car! I just wanted to chime in and say that another must have mod for these cars is the rear fender liner extension, it covers the gap between the body and rear door which is a hot spot for all the dirt and debris to collect there! Its the first mod I did on my Rav4 and its kept everything really clean so far :D
Can't blame you for covering the chrome window trim, it doesn't look good on any of the models. It was one of the first things I did with my Rav4, I purchased the black out film and applies it with a heat gun. The side step seems a bit useless, the Rav doesn't sit that high for anyone to need the extra step but to each his own. I changed out the hideous horn on my Rav so that it sounds like a real car now not a "rice burner". I also installed: Fog lights, lighted window controls, new speakers, spare tire sub woofer, roof rack bars, and tuxmat floor mats.
Very nice 2 accessory,,,, my friend bought a 19’ in nov 20’ liked it so much bought another in Dec 21’ another 2019 lol has aqua blue and slate gray. I’ll just stick with my 08 rx350 paid off lol. We’re in anchorage Alaska. Luv the videos,,, especially the 40.6 mpg trip.
I'm approaching the 2,000 mile mark with my rav 4 and was thinking at 3,000 to do an oil change (thinking that was being pro-active), but you did yours at 1,000. Guess I'm not THAT pro-active (lol)!
Toyota Master Mechanics recommend a 1k oil change when you get a new one and then at 5k intervals starting at 5k. Don't listen to the manuals or you will greatly shorten the lifespan of your Toyota.
Do you find it difficult to close the doors on RAV4 because the inside door handle is too far forward and you don't have much leverage? Test drove one and that was one of the first issues I noticed.
Thanks for sharing. By chance, could you comment on whether or not you’ll be installing or able to install mud guards with these running boards in place? Thanks in advance for your response.
I had read that for the running boards, you need to cut a bunch of plastic the length of the car underneath. I didnt see you do that, do you know what's the deal?
You need to install fog lights. That will look even better and be functional.
Nice work sir 👍
