    Jennifer you are an authentic kind person. Anyone that watches your video knows the only agenda you have is to help us be better at our craft. I know exactly what you are taking about as when I first started stamping I bought some "bargin"" stamps and inks. I almost gave up but I watched and learned and tried again. I have to say my art is looking very good these days and my craft room is very organized thanks to you and that makes me more productive. Thank you.

    I watched it the first one and knew exactly what you were talking about. It's the old saying, you get what you pay for normally. Love you opinion on craft supplies, I realize that it's only your opinion and its up to me if I want to read between the lines or look between the line. Great job Jennifer! Tks for all you do

    You are talented, clear, and devoted to excellence. I understood the first video perfectly. It is a testament to you that you are willing to re-post with additional clarification. Bravo! Thankful for you!

    Dear Jennifer, thanks for the updated vedio.Your further explanation is clear and greatly appreciated. In the era of world economy, there are too many complex factors involved in manufacturing process,and are often hidden behind the price tag, the package, or the brand name. That is why I always tell my students to choose the materials, to get some knowledge on what you bought. And your videos are always the great references. Thanks again for the time and effort you spend. We are always here to support you.

    I absolutely understood where you were going with your explanation in the "original" video Jennifer and totally agree with the old adage that "you get what you pay for." When photo-polymer stamps first came out I thought that all clear stamps were the same and I ended up wasting money on the poorer quality stamps because they were less expensive. The thing that I appreciate from you is your honest opinion and, like you always say, what works for one doesn't always work for everyone. You even go so far as to tell us when you receive something "free" but won't recommend a product unless you absolutely love it. It's unfortunate that not everyone appreciates the work you put into making (& now remaking) these videos and could pick at one thing and not really "listen" to the message that you're really sharing with us. Anyone who thinks you have a hidden agenda (or could possibly influence your over 200K faithful followers to turn against you!!) hasn't really been paying attention. AND no one forces any of us to follow anyone!! We love you and appreciate all that you do to make us all better crafters and for sharing your love for what you, and we, do. ~BIG HUGS~

    I watched your first video and totally got what you were talking about. When I first got into card making, I bought so many cheap stamps and ink pads thinking they were all the same. Oh no they're not! Most of the inexpensive products I bought up front have been destashed. I absolutely trust your opinion, everything I've tried at your suggestion works as advertised and that means less money out of my pocket to look for a better version. Thank you so much for all that you do. It can be incredibly overwhelming in the crafting world trying to figure out what to buy but I always trust your opinion. You get what you pay for and while this isn't a cheap hobby, it's worth every penny!!!

    Jennifer, the first thing I do when opening a set of new stamps is run an eraser over them. I just leave them on the carrier sheet and run my flat eraser over all of them. This way I remove any oils or residual manufacturing products from the stamps, I'm not potentially contaminating my ink pads, and it seems to add a kind o "tooth" to the stamps. This works for me every time even on the really cheap stamps.

    I am a relatively new stamper and I totally understood what you meant in your original video. I enjoy learning from you. I am now even more impressed with your concern to explain further and taking your precious time to do so. Thank you for all you do.

    I truly believe most stampers who have transitioned to clear stamps have tried all kinds, including those in the $1 bins, and have moved to stamps they know will give them the best results for their work. It is a natural process. That is why there are so many choices in shampoo, pet food and many many other things we use and buy. You are a darling and an inspiration to so many of us. I truly hope you know how much you are appreciated!

    I too watched your first video and didn't have a problem and knew exactly what you were telling me on your video. Also I value your opinions and have learned so much from you even though I've been a crafter for almost 20 years. With so much new stuff coming out every day it's nice to be updated and have the opportunity to pick and choose what I want to do about it. Sorry there are such small minded people in this world that don't know that your truthful and honest in everything you say and do. I have NEVER heard you say and I know I won't hear you say "you have to get this or that because I say so". You just give your pros and cons so that we may have a choice. Honestly you have saved me time and money many times when shopping for a new craft item. You're not like the "Old Time Used Car Salesman" trying to get you to buy something you don't want instead you SHOW us by comparing. Your Number One in my book and you do a great job!

    It's unfortunate that you had to spend so much time, especially on a re-do. However, I agree with others who stated that you make it clear these are your opinions. MOST appreciate your opinions and recommendations, which is why your videos and blog are so popular. Your honesty and work ethic is apparent. I am a long time crafter, but new to stamping, die cutting, embossing, etc. I found you just a few months ago and THOROUGHLY enjoy your work. Your videos are especially well done and you are an excellent instructor. I teach adult education and know many people who are teachers are not particularly good at it!! You are a blessing to so many people and I thank you for what you do. A question I've wanted to ask you though, is would you consider doing some projects with a Cricut machine?

    Hi Jennifer! First I want to say thank you for YOUR acts of kindness in sharing your amazing talents with all of us crafters at no charge! I am one of those crafters that looks at things and says, "hmmm, I think I can make that!" There just aren't many classes being taught at the local craft stores, and even when they are, it is only for the current project and how to put it together. You teach us the whys and what for. Because of you, I am learning new crafts (and how to do it correctly which produces a much better product. Thank you for sharing your gifts, all wrapped up in love! You are so loved by your fans and we are blessed to have you. I especially love your video on your craft room which has inspired me to do the same. I can't wait to see your new one!!! 😍❣️💞

    i totally get what you're talking about the stamps. I bought a set of clear letter stamps from my craft store (Michael's) and and the first time I used it, it wouldn't even stick to my acrylic block. Now I only buy clear stamps through online stores because yes, the quality is worth it if you want them to last :)

    I also watched your first video and thought it was GREAT!!! You are always very clear when you post. I’m sorry you had to spend your valuable time re-doing this. I’ve always understood that these are your opinions and I LOVE your expertise I have learned so much from you. Thank you!!!
    I’m excited to try the Altenew inks with the 4 colors. Great idea!!! Distress Oxide inks are my favorite so far.

    I have found out the hard way that stamps, paper and ink can make a huge difference in my card making. I recently spent a lot of time revamping my craft supplies of 15+ years and getting rid of things that wasn't working for me. Took your advice on all three of the above issues and have found a big difference in my cards and enjoyment! I invested in your 2015 basic dye inks recommendations and have found out that they work beautifully for me. :-) Thanks for the update. As always, many thanks!

    Still excellent and clear, just as before. Like most of your videos you can just keep learning and enjoying with each watch and re-watch. But you don't have to watch a re-do to enjoy them. I completely understood what you said in the first video. When I first started stamping I couldn't understand why ink beaded on top of stamps. Guess who taught me why that was happening. Eventually photopolymer became the standard, but there are still levels of quality within those. It's like everything else in life, you do get what you pay for. I think it was totally unnecessary for you to redo your voiceover, but I appreciate the effort you put into making sure your videos are clear for everybody. Blessings your way.

    Thank you for this video. I agree completely that the best images are a combination of ink, paper, and stamps - and all need to be good quality. Also, thank you for your explanation of Oxide inks. I never really understood why they were different and now I'm tempted to get some!

    Hi Jen, I understand what you mean by higher price = better quality, Unfortunately as an Australian resident It is really challenging to source many of the products you recommend, especially the inks. Anyway I just wanted to thank you for all your wonderful videos and the techniques you share. I love the shoe comparison, that is so true!!! I'm struggling right now because I really love several different brands but my budget can't afford them all! I love the ink cube option because like you said you get more colors. Right now I'm torn between MFT Lawn Fawn and Gina K. I have all the SU ink pads but to be honest I do not like them! So many of the colors come super close to repeating themselves sometimes I feel like they just come out with colors...just to be coming out with colors! Plus the cases are hard to open and they are too big and bulky for using with a stamp positioner. I don't know about the quality of the ink, I think MFT is the best personally. Plus SU is too expensive and does not offer the ink cubes.

    I really hope you did not stress yourself too much over explaining it in another way or got mean personal messages or whatever. I did get your intention in the first place. :)
    However, I am also happy that you are now pointing more to the price of a stamp. We have some great good quality stamps here as well, made in germany - if they are not the cheap ones from some coffee stores. Create a smile is from here - though I honestly don't know if they produce all their stamps in germany. What we have a lack of though are good sentiments. But well... that's another story. Hi Jennifer, I’ve been making cards for about a year now but it’s been very intermittent. I want to do more. I’ve picked up some ink pads but they are not great quality. I’m thinking about getting a full set of Gina K’s. I have a Versamark already. Do you think this would be a good starting point? I’m a little overwhelmed and want the cubes instead of the full pads but because I don’t use them regularly am afraid they will dry out. What do you suggest? Need help. :)

    • @JuJuAndPenny
      @JuJuAndPenny 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Suzy Hubert A crisp ink has clear, sharp lines instead of fuzzy edges - they don't bleed out into the surrounding paper.

    • @helenaw9533
      @helenaw9533 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Suzy - Crisp means sharp or clear. A crisp image is one that does not have blurred edges and the entire image is evenly inked.
