We are both firm believers that it is unjust to review and rate an album after only hearing it one time therefore our method for reviews is much different than everyone else on TH-cam.
First off, not only do you get two individual opinions for each and every album but we actually take the time to listen to each album many times over the course of a week in order to gather elaborate opinions on it. We typically post our First Impressions of the album after listening to it for the very first time and then a week later we post our final review with a score.
Our scoring method is unique to this channel as well. We each rate the album out of 10 but anything above a 7/10 simply just gets our Toe Tag. In order for an album to make it onto the list above it must receive Two Toe Tags. It if only gets one or none then it does not make our coveted list.
Any album that receives Two Toe Tags is considered a top quality album of elite status and highly recommended by both of us. We hope to add an array of metal genres and sub-genres to our list so be sure to Subscribe and turn on Notifications so you will always be in the loop with all the awesome metal we review!

First video i've watched on this Channel, gotta say... Glad you two are Open Minded. I can tell you two give music an honest chance and Honestly listen to it instead of dismissing because its different. i've seen nothing but Hate for this new song because its "slow and repetitive and monotonous" but this is a song meant for its Message and not just the Sound. popular vote is its a song directed at the people who do nothing but complain about their new sound and the direction they are going. Trivium is trying to keep things fresh and try out new sounds and new writing methods and it seems so many people just wanna say they "Sold Out". but its a No/win Situation, if Trivium keeps writing songs like they did on Shogun they'll get flack for having "No Originality". I approve of trying new things out at a bands stand point, and i'm glad to find others who can also appreciate the change. "It's easy to be right everything repeats, its easier to cut us down and pull at our defeats, its easy to be right when everything repeats, dig below the surface find your insecurities" from what i see it is basically saying writing the same stuff over and over is a safe method for some bands because trying something new can easily break a band. I do applaud trivium for saying screw the negativity and that they are gonna keep writing and doing as they please. and it saddens me that Trivium had to make a song with this message due to the "Fans" in the comment section of all their songs nowadays. A band should never have to call out its fan base ya know?

The problem with this song and albums like Silence in the Snow is, that they don't sound very original and fresh at all. I have real problems to point my finger at what makes this song special - it is ok-ish but that's about it . Same goes for Silence in the Snow as a whole album. Shogun was such a master piece with alot of variation and complexity that made it an interesting experience. I guess many people are still listening to Shogun for that exact reason again and again. It's like a journey. You had catchy songs aswell, like Down From the Sky for example, but out of a sudden they punched you in the face and you were like WOW! Trivium started to get a bit worse with In Waves and I still don't know why this is even a title song. There are so many more interesting songs on that album that so many people propably don't even know of because they propably got boren by the x-th "In Waves"-scream and switched off the record.
I got to say, that I liked The Sin and the Sentence alot because it showed glimpses of that old genius that makes Trivium and their music so special for me. So that makes me hope that this song is just a one off. But lets see. The faces after a couple of minutes in this reaction video and that they start to talk about the haircut of the musicians isn't a good sign for me. :)

Just randomly dropped on your video after listening to the song and seeing the unnecessary hate (I LOVE THE SONG) and gotta say, metal community would be a good community if guys like you were more in amount. Thank You guys \m/

What I like about it is that it seems you guys are more in to the heavier stuff but still able to make a fair assessment of a slower song like this. Take the positives for what it is and not just automatically be negative like others tend to be just because its slower or less aggressive than what they normally do. You guys call what u really think and being a musician myself, you guys are really spot on.

Hey great review! I do have to ask though. Would you look at the song the wretchedness inside by Matt heafy. The song willbe on the sin and the sentence but he made this a few years ago for another band but turned it down. It's a pretty good song but I'm excited to hear what they have done to it since!
u know! I can;t hate this song b/c even as basic as the lyrics are with the combination of the constant rifting and melodic flow it was an enjoyable listen and a testament to how good something can be and not over the top. They gave us heavier with sin and sentence and this was a nyce glass of water to drink.

It sounds like the song "The sin and the sentence" had anger in the lyrics but it wasn't able to be properly expressed because of either insecurities or because of an outside source, but with "The heart from your hate" you can actually hear the anger, it's more focused and more pronounced, maybe with the next song it will be perfected and be shown in all its glory

Reaction to Fifth Density - Blinding White light
Completely agree with you guys, this is a much better song than TSATS, which proves for me it's not about simplicity/complexity or heaviness but about the song being well-rounded with all parts pointing in the same direction. The problem I had with TSATS is that it felt like a collection of decent riffs and mediocre vocals over a double bass track, it seemed like an easy way to do music, melodic stuff over a good drummer, but it didn't deliver in my opinion. This completely does.

Even though I disagree with you I like how fair this review is. I think the song was good and vocals were on point but lyrics were too repetitive for my taste. Besides that first 2 tracks aren't bad. Super Stoked for the Trivium/Arch Enemy Tour in October.

There was a little bit of one right before the bridge but it wasn't very extensive

TRIVIUM are great musicians. They grow up ever higher. Every their album is different. So no need to comment their creativity. If someone doesn`t like it, so then do something better than criticize them.

Mahesh C Achuthanna there are other opinions than yours ma boi. It's a listenable song but not their best that's for sure. I'm hoping it's like until the world goes cold/dying in your arm of this album.
Ninekills I had to slap myself because for the last single they were talking shit about the clean vocals.Which is why I was surprised when they said they like this song better than the last one.
Mahesh C Achuthanna Matts clean vocals were much better suited for the melody of this song. His cleans in Sin and Sentence seemed out of place for some reason.. thats how we both felt but its just our opinions and you're entitled to yours. \m/
