Janice-Marie Johnson and Hazel Payne are an ass kicking bass and guitar playing pair. Damn! They're good. I listened to this over and over again for about an hour because their performance is so compelling. Janice-Marie Johnson is such a good bass player; beautiful tone, and she does these descending bass lines (she does one at 7:05 and at 10:05) which are absolutely beautiful. Bass playing at the highest level of artistry. Hazel Payne's chunking rhythms and soaring leads are intense, and then when they break into the "Get down" outros with those descending bass lines, they achieve moments of musical perfection.
Watching this in 2021! Love this version and no lip-syncing. The band is firing on all cylinders and to watch these two lovely ladies playing bass, guitar and singing at the same time!
