I just bought this box set , only because it worked out cheaper than buying them individually. It really is a no frills affair but..... it is about the music , so I am not complaining. I have still not forgiven Kate for not releasing a dvd of her Before the Dawn performances...... as a lifelong fan who couldn’t get to see the show...... it hurts !
Nonsensical Child . Oh yes.... there would be tears at the very mention of the concerts ! But I will hear what you have to say about them..... with a lump in my throat !
Released as CD players were becoming increasingly popular, the original LP ended with "This Woman's Work", whilst "Walk Straight Down the Middle" was included as a bonus track on the CD and cassette versions of the album. The gap between these two tracks is slightly longer to indicate the album was intended to finish with "This Woman's Work".So I guess she wanted this set to be as the LPs were ?
Is this collection better than the previous one ? The previous one included a booklet with plenty of photos and information. I mean, maybe the remastered versions worth it.
After listening to them all I think the first two don't sound much different. The others have less siblence but less dynamics. If you already have the discs don't bother.
A wasted opportunity! So sad! A lavish coffee table book with sessions & discography & hi res piccies All the unreleased stuff that have appeared on bootlegs, if you could see me fly home demos
No bonus tracks. Big Sky replaced by a single version, which sonically isn't as good as the rest of the album, and no career spanning booklet to give historical context, and to provide additional artwork are the real problems. I'd add, the box art if just lame given how many great shots of Bush were taken at the time these albums were recorded. The original CD's sounded good too. Oh, and there's a mastering error in Violin if you really want to be picky........
I love Kate!!!
Love it !!!
There will be a lot of extras on Box Set 2 from my understanding ..Box Set 2 will also have live material as well.

I was lucky enough to go and I talk about it in the next cd box set unboxing, but that might be rubbing salt in the wounds.

i have it of course great to hear you chat about the albums her first 3 albums are my all time favorites
I bought the other cd set now, video to follow and a look at my program from the London concert.
Nice review...
I just ordered both, pt 1 & 2 because they've all been remastered (except BTD)
Have to pick this up
I really don't like any of the Fish People artwork, it's so dominant. Even the KB website has been completely taken over by this, I don't get why
Did they really cut "walk straight down the Middle" on The Sensual World or they just don't writted it?

Should i buy this? Or a Greatest Hits cd? I heard that some songs are not original versions, it that true?
How do these sound? I was underimpressed with the sound of the 2011 remaster of HOL
For me a bit of a waste of time , I was hoping for a positive change but there is very little difference compared to the cds I already have.
Great review, so glad I didn't bother getting this rehashed rubbish.

They're called LYRICS. LOL
