    What a blessing to see someone speaking on television without being constantly interrupted by some stupid journalist.

    aldous huxley was the only writer who really affected me emotionally, I remember when my computer broke, so to pass the time i started reading island by aldous huxley, and it literally started making me feel more alive, it actually scared the hell out of me and gave me a panic attack, and i had to put it down for a few days. because i felt like i had been numb and distracted for so long, and his words started to wake me up from sleep, but i was too sensitive to feeling.

    He still has the power and energy to teach and warn us of our destructive nature...he is not dead so to speak. I get something out of every interview and his writings every time i watch or read them. Hes got such a great voice and the way he speaks is haunting...i can listen to him for hours

    make the best of all the worlds you live in. such a great message. one thing I've noticed in Huxley's interviews is people associating him with an elite class. Huxley came from a very well to do family, educated well read and so forth. His education and family is well documented on wikipedia so I would encourage anyone to read furthur on his background on that site. Huxley had a brilliant mind. His documentation of the effects LSD had on him are beautifully written and infinitely valuable.

    Why do so few really get it? I think it's because the two forms of intelligence he speaks of have become chronically split and can no longer work hand in hand (not to mention the loss of love & kindness).

  • @Macknsteez

    @fishybishbash He's not talking about universes, he means the separate worlds of the body and of the mind, of the ego and of conscience, and the struggle in marrying the two worlds of spiritual enlightenment and the reality of the world and survival.

    we have the technology to feed and house many more populace.

  • @fishybishbash
    @fishybishbash 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Macknsteez I disagree. He says so himself; "we are...living in many diverse and... incommensurable universes"(1:24) and that our job is to make the best "not only of both worlds, because there are more than two" (1:35). He is correctly presaging the consensus to which the scientific community has come i.e. that reality is a multi-dimensional state.

  • @fishybishbash
    @fishybishbash 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    1:17 Huxley points out that we exist in the midst of many universes - well now isn't that exactly what the scientific concensus is now? The mistake is thinking that we are stuck in a particular set of dimensions when surely the truth is we are passing through different dimensions all the time?

    The World is a entire physical and mental structure, a organism, and consists of organs, arms and legs. By the time the World reaches adulthood, consists of more than a trillion cells, the basic unit of life. Groups of cells combine and work in tandem to form tissues, which combines to form organs (organ systems).

    @statewithinastateuk on the federal level, there is very little difference between the right and the left. they are both controlled by corporate interests.

  • @Macknsteez
    @Macknsteez 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @fishybishbash No he's not. Read the Doors of Perception and you'll understand what worlds and universes he's talking about. He's not talking about string theory haha. He's talking about the complex nature of existence, in reality, time, and space. Although that scientific consensus is correct, they are speaking of two different types of multi-universal states. Huxley is not talking about specific dimensions being layered on top of each other.
    But we can agree to disagree haha.

    I love paranoid right wing bullshit about Huxley, like the nonsense below. It's so entertaining.
