Treated myself to the Rega 50th TT as i used to have a really old P3 and needed a good TT - lovely TT - the Walnut finish is actually really nice. Also my CD player died and i got an Apollo CD player and really loving that too :)
When you fly a kite, what connection wire do you use? How responsive is the thicker wire? Don't you want the stretchyness of the thin braided line? What about the kite pulling back on the bloke flying it?? Its not all just 1 way, the guy pulling on the kite. No 50% is the kite pulling the bloke off line... Have a think about that 🤔
The master fuse 100 per cent the biggest up grade I have ever made I have a top set up 4500 cartridge the improvement tops that up grade any one who dismisses it with out trying one you just don’t want to spend the money I thank this guy for getting me to try one top guy 👍
Thank you for the years vid's. I changed from, Analysis Plus Black Oval 12 Speaker Cable, to tellurium q ultra blue II. Needed longer lengths. Price could not have been closer. MASSIVE difference, must be synergy. Exposure electronics, Proac speakers.
I thinking to change my CA CXA81 to an Exposure 2510 and my Van Medevoort SA230 SACD player is still good but very old already. So the upcoming Exposure CD player would be also interesting.
Would be interesting to hear a comparison between Ca Cxa81 and Exposure 2510. My guess is that wich one is prefereable depends a lot on synergy with the speakers.
I have the Exposure 2010s2, the Exposure MCX CD and Neat Motive SX3 in a customised bookcase. A great hi-fi dealer led me finally to 'Synergy Nirvana', towards the sunset of my music loving journey, of six decades.....😊
I have not seen any scientific evidence that fuses matter, or any plausible explanation of why they should matter. A standard fuse adds a small amount of extra resistance, but it is not in the signal path. It is the equivalent of adding another foot to your power cable (from a resistance standpoint). Can anyone detect that? I've done measurements on a single amp swapping out a standard fuse and a copper slug, and found no differences with output voltage, and heard no differences. Something is wrong with the component if a fuse matters. I'm writing this off as a psychological artifact until someone presents scientific evidence. My advice is to focus on the big tweaks first ... speaker placement, room treatments and DSP, where the changes can be dramatic. A small PEQ filter will have much more effect than a cable or fuse change. Master REW.
Hi great video, the walnut finish looks really good and because comes with the great cartridge and Neo psu it’s a very good deal , if I was looking to buy now definitely go for that . Regards mark
What am I going for now? HOW do I uncheapen the equipment I have? Are the skinny cables ill or mentally unwell or cheap manufacture or expert kit flying type of performance???? I think you haven't got the ability to answer that 1 simple question 🤔
nothing to do with the subject but i purchased my first cartridge off Graham Nalty (Black Rhodium) in the early 80's when he had a Hi Fi shop, really nice & helpful fella to me as a beginner.
It's great listening to your soothing voice. Wishing you 100% better, get lots of Vit D and get lots of sunlight, has massively helped people I know who got that virus. Happy holidays.
Always enjoy your talks. Merry Christmas. How can a fuse make a difference if one is using a noise filtering power board? Cables can make some difference due to impedance length shielding etc. that I have heard. Does the Atoll CD player play through when tracks are intended to be gapless or does it do the slight pause thing? Ive seen this is a problem with many new players.
The new players haven't seen Paul Newman in the hustler movie. Maybe YOUR system is lacking history knowledge 🤔 😏 Do you know when you're looking at your speakers 🔊 you're looking down the V groove in the vinyl record? You guys should look into the mount of your phonograph needle and see if it's mounted wrongly. If you're looking into CD 💿 you're actually looking at the music behind a flat layer of clear plastic.
Merry Christmas,Thanks for all the reviews and tips , I tightened the speaker nuts on my Ruark Accolades, they were so loose but now they sound totally amazing,my favourite tip of yours , Thanks.Ive bought a Shiny Black Rega P3 ,A Rega Saturn MK3 cd player and a Rega Atheos amplifier, they are a great combination with the Ruarks.I still haven't worked out how to connect other source components like my Sony Mini disc and Sony professional Walkman to the DACs on the Atheos,? or the Saturn yet? Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024
The Aethos doesn’t have a DAC so you will have to connect your digital sources to the Saturn, you then press the CD/DAC button on the remote to select the input you desire
As a retired electrical contractor I would say if you can , install a dedicated supply for your hifi from your distribution board . And use an armer cable for the fact that it will help with RF interference . If this is terminated into fuse out first before feeding your sockets which can be as many as you like on a radial circuit . Your electrician will Gide you on the finer points , but because you have the fuse outlet this would be the ideal place to install your expensive fuse . As a word of caution there are those who advocate a separate earthing system for hifi , via an earth spike . This can under certain circumstances create different electrical potential issues which is differently not desirable . Kind regards to all
@@iancasson62. Hi sir glad you took the plunge , as for the fuse upgrade I’m afraid my system just wouldn’t justify the expense , even if my wonderful wife said ok 😂 . But regarding the dedicated supply for me it was relatively easy , because of my background . So of course someone having to employ a professional , would obviously be subject to far greater cost than the fuse upgrade . But as in your case , put the two together , with I assume high quality equipment , then indeed the magic can do its thing . As to how it works as regards to the fuse is a total mystery to me , obviously it’s paramount intention as a fuse is under fault conditions it disconnects the power supply . So how you improve the sound, without compromising that basic functionality is definitely beyond my limited knowledge . Best wishes and kind regards to your good self , and a merry Christmas and a happy new year
you must have been alluding to the older Elex-R and not the current MK4 in your comments? many don't see the point in upgrading to the newer Elicit. is their really any difference?
Merry Christmas I think the fuse couple of aspects might make a difference material if it's solid silver yes that's going to be better less resistance, how it's wired reducing inductance would make a difference and it's capacitance, and how it controls radio waves. you should dismantle one of those purple and see what it looks like in a video
The point of a fuse is to blow with excess current. If you lower the impedance, permit more current and hence the fuse becomes less effective. Then you have to consider how important actual safety is.
What is the name of the cable? Is it "intro"? You speak very fast. I''m in the US and, even though we speak the same language, I sometimes don't understand the word you're saying.
It's not that fuses, cables or interconnect dont make sonic differences.... it's just sometimes the material costs verse the final market price .... sometimes raises people's eyebrows and concerns!

Nice purchase 👌

About the fuse, people need to know how it makes such a difference.
It really makes a difference? I’m always looking for little tweaks
