I really believe this is one of the best songs ever. Not even kidding, everything about this song is perfect. How he describes his problems, how he met rap, his ambition to make it out for himself and his best friends, everything with excellent execution, references and detail. I shed a tear listening to this. If you have ever struggled with life before, you can actually feel this song deep in your chest.
Man shit hits so hard. I grew up only guy in the family, dad was gone, everyday I was told be respectful to woman while my mom, sis, and grandma treated me like less than human. Rap needs you to speak, Kendrick has spearheaded a new era with more people becoming conscious and I genuinely see you in it, u got that passion and I love that, rap NEEDS that 🔥
As a Korean American growing up in Atlanta surrounded by hip hop culture, I can 100% relate to this. The cultural differences with having strict stern Asian parents and how much you realize that your parents are just as broken as you are as you get older. Accepting that was the hardest part for me. I just found you through your other drill songs but this song was actual art. Keep going Khantrast

Genuinely have no idea how much i could have ever related and internalized with a song. Made me cry. My mother started treating me almost slave like, insults being thrown for everything even when I didnt do anything, yelling matches everyday basically, always disapproving anything i did. I met a music teacher who forced me to make songs and perform on stages. This cleared my mind and i eventually had a habit of writing down raps for all my life experiences good and bad. Music saved me as well. Kedrick, joey, steez, MF doom, Madlibs, Tyler, Lauryn Hill JID and wayyyy more got me through some of the worse times. Thank you for making this song. It reminds me that people also struggle in life similarly to me and im glad you doing better man. You have always been such an influential figure in my style of rap.
