I'm so happy to say that the mommy of my baby girl Luna was a Norcal foster all the way up in Washington State. I jumped at the opportunity to adopt norcal baby. Thank you Saskia for saving my Little Luna's mommy and all the babies. Your my Guinea pig hero. 💪👱♀️🤳🥰
I discovered their channel over a year ago and I was shocked that people were cheering. There were so many people who didn’t see the obvious neglect and who loved the channel; obviously the piggies were poorly though. I was so heartbroken for them and was ecstatic when I saw the rescue. I was like „Please let it be them, please let it be them!“
@@Rynn21 their replies to people‘s comments were always very very weird. Once I asked them cautiously how they manage to take care of this vast amount of piggies and I got a very disturbing answer. It wasn’t rude or something, not at all, just strange and driven by some weird beliefs. I feel sorry for them and the kid.

Ah, that was so heartwarming to see you both. You've done such an amazing job, that will obviously be ongoing for months to come. Totally support your decision to take this wider regarding pet shops. Having come across you and Scotty on TH-cam, I decided at 63 yrs old to go and adopt three piggies. @@christiangomez6526 trolls do stuff like that. He was just trying to get you to reply. Kids think it's funny to leave comments that don't make sense, so they can get a childish laugh out of you. That's what that comment of "so" didn't make sense. They also use the word "why" over and over trying to get normal adults to respond. They're just kids with nothing better to do. Best to just ignore them.
I understand this but at the same time - I hate getting attached to things that I know are on the brink of death..

It is really hard NOT to feel extreme anger and hatred towards this guy responsible for the horrible conditions those poor guinea pigs were in. Even though they are doing much better now. seeing the pictures every time it enrages me and there's so much I'd like to say but wont. The more info I found on him the more disgusted with him I am. He fooled other people long before Saskia came into the picture. The thing that bother me is no matter what the police do. I think he will start breeding again.
The judge should forbid them to own any guinea pigs and check them frequently. That is normal for hoarding situations I thought. Let's hope so.

@@JingleBellsBarky I wish Saskia could file a lawsuit against him for all the lies and slander he said of her. If he can't pay it than he has to go back to jail. Same thing they do when dead beat dads don't pay Child support. A judge can make him have to pay her restitution fines. That would be the ultimate revenge Saskia can hopefully get along with a judge to do a court order that he can not own any animals, and go to jail if he violates this order in any way. Imagine how much it would just eat him up inside if he had to pay he thousands of dollars in restitution for her and Gabe having to drive all the way out there to get his guinea pigs and another couple thousand for the work they had to do to get his guinea pigs. The judge can force him to have make payments every month to LAGPR till he pays it all off. Saskia could go after him that way. It would be sweet to make him go to jail every month he misses a payment. That would be the ultimate revenge. That would just kill him inside and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it
That's awful the man promised you that he wouldn't breed guinea pigs anymore and then turns around to do it all over again. 😒 and to think that you were rescuing the animals for money. 😠

I’d love to volunteer of you need any help. Rats are tops for me but guinea pigs are very near to my heart. I had them as a kid and can “speak” piggie! I’m in LA and am not squeamish at all!
The trash can't be composted? I'd think old shavings and poop would be great for a garden!

Yeah that dude was quoting scripture and said it was the husband using the wife's youtube account. He was trying to justify his cruelty I guess. I could see the boys poor condition. There's a special place in Hades for those people.

I got a baby and a momma from the first nor cal and I adore them. I would love to adopt Elvis (husband would revolt) but man if circumstances change...road trip!!!
My daughter had the same experience you were talking about with buying a piggy from a local pet shop. Piggy was sick so she went back and they told her to leave it with them for their vet to check out. After she got home she worried about leaving her and went back to get her. She found they had put her in a plastic bin in the back and was never seen by the vet. She told them she wanted her piggy back and then took it to the vet and got it treated. If she had not gone back who knows what would have become of that piggy. Now she is happy and healthy with my daughter and another girl piggy they also adopted. People really need to know what is going on in these pet shops. Thank you for all you do.

Saskia will you show up close pictures or video of guinea pigs nails at each age so people can compare what nails look like at 6 months vs 1 year vs 2 years vs 3 years etc.. so we can learn how to tell the age? I'd love to see that!!!

So the original owners of the Norcal guinea pigs are on youtube? For a while I didn't make the connection because of the videos showing the guinea pigs getting carrots and grass cuttings. I probably should have looked closer and questioned how anybody could possibly care for that many guinea pigs.
@Kecen Zhou Yes, the previous owners have videos up on You Tube. You know, everything looks good until you start to examine it. There's more to keeping an animal than just feeding it--you need to provide medical care, keep them safe, and don't breed 'em if you can't feed 'em. How difficult would it have been, in the beginning with 10 piggies, to separate the sexes to keep them from breeding??? That's NOT what happened!

Yup, 3.5 years ago; we have one of the NorCal babies! After Fenella spent half a Saturday trying to match our boar with a new friend, we gave up. In walked a volunteer who had driven some NorCal babies down from Saskia's rescue - and our piggy went home with a brand new 3 week old baby boy!

What you have been doing for Guinea pigs is more than words and so as Fenella. I've been following you for over 2 years. I got to say I've learned so much knowledge about taking care of guinea pigs in terms of diet. behaving.bathing. matching and so on. Really really appreciate for all of the good works you have been done. It helps people all over the world me included.

Precious piggy people, thank you for what you do, I absolutely adore piggies, my first choice in pets but I have no piggies because I don’t have the time to look after them properly, it’s sad but until things change that’s how it will remain.

I LOVE boars!!! I have 5 & each are so different. I have a very tame one. I have 3 adopted ones. I bought 2, 1 bc he has red eyes & nobody wanted him. I can say the pocket cleanings are well worth their cuddly nature.
PLEASE consider adopting boars. They are wonderful!!!
I Love boars too and have two boys and you are right about they are worth it. Cleaning their pockets is nothing to me. It's easy and yes boys are very cuddly. I adopted a baby boar after one of my pigs died. All future pigs will be adopted and since most everybody wants girls. That means boy pigs don't get adopted as much so I will only adopt boys.

Does anyone know the name of the channel that the other guy started? I'd like to keep an eye on it and tell him off if he starts up again. I can't believe he thought Saskia was making money off "his" guinea pigs when she's feeding, housing, and paying for their medical expenses! Medical expenses that are his fault! What a jackass! What a wonderful chat you guys had. I second all of Fenella said Saskia, you are a diamond, well you both are. Do you think, Saskia that you may even be able to take your understanding and knowledge of the plight of the guinea pig to government level? For your own local authorities, state, nation and world wide education of piggies. A lot involved I'm sure, but I reckon you would be the driving force and voice for these lovelies. I find it interesting that Fenella just asked you if you were getting any cuddle time and I knew what your response to her would be. What she said is similar to my comment to your last video from Saturday where I expressed concern about you never really taking any you time or getting enough rest. I know you got a huge rescue to run. I know you have a lot to do, but I also know stress can take its toll on anyone. Which Is why I asked after the Saturday live if You were okay and to remember to take some me time ( even if not much )or at least try to get a good 8 hours sleep sometimes if you can. This comes from a good place Saskia. I mean it. I love what all you do for guinea pigs, but don't forget to sometimes take care of you too. Everyone needs some me time, everyone.

It boggles my mind why someone feels the need to do this repeatedly. What is the purpose of this? He can’t say it’s love for the animal because if he loves them he wouldn’t subject them to such horrific living conditions. Potatoes?! Really?! 🤦🏻♀️

Wow, Saskia and Fenella. What a complicated case. I so admire your persistence and willingness to stay involved. I was fooled by the YT channel they started. I had no idea that they were breeding out of control. The piggies looked healthy at a good distance and it was so cute to see them. Then I saw them up close after you rescued and I was heartbroken. Sad. Saskia, you must be sure he cannot continue! They said in the comments when I asked that they fed rabbit pellets as they were cheaper and they got their "vitamin C from other sources". But the rabbit pellets are alfalfa which is too high in calcium for piggies. There was video of them cutting fresh grass for them which looked good. And you are right, they were so beautiful, such pretty long coats which covers a multitude of sins. Were they jumping off high places to break legs? How? I wish I lived closer to adopt. I have only one old man who is 9 years old and he seems very healthy, but years ago I had about 30-40 and I thought I was borderline out of control. I found homes for all of my babies easily and it was a joy but only for a season. I knew I needed to quit breeding. And there were several accidental breedings due to very young males breeding back when still nursing mom!! I had to learn. Mine were outdoors in central California so it was easy to allow them to be free and exhibit their herd behavior which is totally captivating. But, knowing what I know now, I would castrate my boar and allow him to keep his girls without breeding. I did not even know they castrated them back when I had piggies. I have learned so much from watching your channel. I now clean my boys ears and his "business". I have always cleaned the older males pouches, but never knew about the smegma on the penis. Poor guys. But I feed very high quality pellets and hay, plus lots of good veggies and fruits. I would volunteer if I lived close enough!! I would love to work with you. Thank you for loving piggies. They are such wonderful creatures.
