The recall process has to be added to the constitution/charter. They attempted a Recall through referendum which a judge found unconstitutional.
Got thrown out on a technicality. First they needed to create the mechanism to execute a recall by asking the people of Dolton if they wanted a recall first - and then vote for the recall itself. Unfortunately they did both on the same ballot.

@@hotonez4242I’m with you on the ridiculousness of it all. Even though the recall was ruled invalid, she still had 43% of the vote. A difference of roughly 400 votes. The population is 21k. I’m unsure of exactly how many registered voters are in Dolton, but only around 4k cared enough to vote.
