Jeremy,I was addicted to Alcohol too, I’m clean and sober now for 8 years, never give up God can get you through the hardest times always, my Momma never stopped praying for me, and God heard her prayers. Jeremy, I don't think this is just a coincidence that I listened to this song and just happened to look through the replies and came upon this one. God does not work by coincidence, but by reason. It also just happens to be my anniversary date of 10 years sober. I have found the Lord and His promises of an everlasting Spirit that dwells inside me today, and will forever. All things are possible through Christ Jesus. No one person can help you quit drinking unless you have a true desire to do so. I've been through 3 rehabs, and countless AA meetings. I always took the Lord God with me to each one. God has a plan for you, and that is to prosper in all you do. Seek His Kingdom first and these things will be added to you. Today His grace is sufficient for me. Don't worry about tomorrow, for there is enough evil in today. One day at a time. I want you to look up another song by Mercy Me. It's called "The Hurt and Healer. I listened to that one over and over again. You are in my prayers for complete healing, in the name of Jesus! Amen!

I am listening to this song in the middle of the night just pouring out tears. 😢 my heart is so broken. In the last year I have been in a serious head on collision leaving me with a broken neck and back. Then a dear nephew that was close to me took his own life. And if all these things were not bad enough my mother fell and within a month passed away. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to take her off life support. That was the most difficult decision my brothers and me have ever had to make. Oh God, hear my cry and heal my heart. Oh God, heal my brothers’ hearts. Oh God, hear us and heal us. ❤ 🙏

Such a beautiful song, four days ago we lost our dear Sister Cathleen Herman. She was so young and vibrant, a beautiful soul, a real gem. She loved the Lord and was a true songbird who always sang so sweetly for the Lord. Her goal and that of her husband; our beloved pastor Ricky,was to win many souls especially young ones. She passed away suddenly, gone too soon.😢 I dedicate this song to her loving husband. This song means a lot to me. I was at a dark place in my life when I heard this in the car. I had to pull over to the side, cause the tears started rolling. A police officer stopped to see if I was ok. He began to tell me of his sorrows he had faced(lost his son etc.). I know God sent him to me and this song! Every heart knows its own sorrow. Can relate as evidenced by the following sentences delineating how we use music to deal with pain by stirring up faith. The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy.
The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below.
That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal.
GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you. All this LOVE is waiting for those who believe to receive. For it is written, by HIS STRIPES we are healed. Stand on GOD’S WORD and HIS PROMISES. Time will reveal that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD and HIM LOVING believers in a SPECIAL WAY.

It doesn't matter what is happening in this world, the sun will shine because God says so. People will condemn you because you are not financially stable like them but their belief about you won't stop God from loving you. Some people assume the position of condemning you; they search out all the bad about you so do yourself a favour and focus on the good you have done. Focus on what ever little good you have done and let that brighten your day. You do not have to join others in belittling you and it is not your business how they feel about you and you aren't obligated to change their minds. Do yourself a favour and love you some more. Stay humble and smile, the sun will still shine, God will still be in control no matter what others think about you.

I just cannot tell you that how much this song had ministered to me in the year 2012 and still i hear this song many times. I lost my three sons after i delivered them. When i lost my third son, i was so inconsolable and felt so cheated and frustrated with life. But i wanted to come back to God and hold on to him in my pain. I must have heard more than 200 times in 4 days and consoled myself and felt at peace.

Me and my wife lost two of our baby girls and this song was one of the songs that my mother-in-law had my wife listen to as she was fixing to deliver our first baby it just ministers to us as well she crossed over to Beulah land in 2016 and actually singing with the Angels and our second baby we lost in 2017 and she is now up there in heaven with her big sissy just waiting for us to cross over Jordan just hold on tight because one day real soon we’ll see our precious babies again if we keep the faith are saved by the blood of Jesus!!

I used to play this song everyday , mid last year, little did i know that my Dad would pass away on 20th Dec 2023 barely 3 years after we buried our step mum , having lost my biological mum in 2002. Now that I have no one to turn to, Mountain was so high, I have the Lord with me, when things fell apart and had a broken heart I praised his name. I wrote a song about thanking God in all circumstances. This song gives me hope everyday and I love the Jeff and Sherry Ministry and would desire to back up their songs one day in my lifetime.
