Thank you for watching
this channel is very niche but it’s literally perfect for me 💀 also super professional and entertaining content you’re gonna grow big bro keep it up
I'd definitely love to see more road trip videos. I loved road tripping in my LR Model 3 and looking forward to road tripping in my LR Model Y.
22:53 hey that’s where I live! And yes we do need more chargers in this area for sure. You would think there isn’t a lot in that area of East Tennessee, but actually around half a million people live there between Asheville and London. I am in Johnson City which has around 60,000 people alone. Lots of towns in this area with about 50k people in each town but no superchargers!
Watching this video from southern England. Thanks for sharing. Great memories of family holidays in Florida driving around in a Chrysler Voyager 25 years ago. Today I drive a VW ID.3 and my son a Tesla 3 LR. Just back from a road trip to Italy. Safe travels
Love a video for newbies to Tesla and road tripping, explaining the power/energy info. TIA!
Great vid, as always. You da best!
Great videos, would love more commentary on food options at charging stations and a little insight into where you’re visiting ( St Augustine coverage, etc.) Being and living in Florida, just wanted your thoughts on Disney, etc. Also having lived in Lexington for a while very interesting road trip!
Agree about passing lanes. If you look to your right, there are empty lanes, move into them.
Great video! I learned a lot. The route you took is one I have taken for quite a few vacations, and would love to know some extra details about your experience through the Blue Ridge Mountains on the way back to KY.
Curious about 2 parts of your driving experience:
1. How did auto-drive do in the rain during the evening through the mountains
2. Why did you manually drive in the Blue Ridge mountains? Did the auto-drive not handle the curves well?
The rain in the mountains came on pretty hard out of nowhere. Anytime there's a super heavy downpour, like the one in the video, I always drive in manual. I don't doubt the car could do it, assuming cameras aren't blinded, I just trust myself more.
AP handled the mountains great. The roads were pretty dead though and I wanted to do a tad more "spirited" driving.
adorkable!
W road trip video
You can select a destination in the mobile phone and then share it with the Tesla app
Maybe the next enhancement is a wall mount for the mobile charger and a swing-out boom to keep the cables off the ground and folks from tripping on them.
Really enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting.
Oh hell no I'd get range anxiety lol
You should use the navigator so that it advises you on the best and fastest route. If it works as it should, you should avoid such things as roadworks and traffic jams, and the car can advise you of where you can charge the car after the route. And so that it heats the battery before you get to the lab location
Have only been to a few V3 chargers before but some also had that lettering (NorCal). Was getting pretty low Kw but I forget exactly. Haven’t supercharged enough yet to know what expect TBH
@ Jeremiah , when the refresh comes out I'm getting the performance M3. Are those Martian rims on your car ? What size and tires? I don't need the 20 in. low profile. I went on the test drive it was sick !!! For a sec I got nauseous 😂😂I wasn't expecting the acceleration
Love the background music. What is it?
to charge to 100% after the road is not smart, it charges the fastest to like 80%. It takes significantly longer to charge up to 100%. This means that the journey takes significantly longer. Did the navigator really recommend you to charge at 50% I don't think so
1) Did you do all of the driving and
2) How many phantom stops did you experience?
AP did 95% of the driving. Phantom braking was very minimal, maybe 1-2 every hundred miles. None of which were crazy.
Is the 10% thing a personal preference or is that an overall EV recommendation? Any time you could make it to your next charging station with 10% charge remaining, you stopped charging. I've never heard of doing this before, and I'm not sure if it's just a personal preference. I've only ever had gas-powered automobiles, so I just fill the tank and do what I need.
It’s general EV rules for roadtripping. The battery charges faster from 10% than it does from 20%. So if you can make it to a charger with 10% then it’s best to head out. This way you save time at the charger.
The downside is that if for some reason you have to take a detour you may run out of range.
@ Jeremiah , I forgot to ask , how do you like your M3 performance ? Has been reliable , any major issues? I'm just nervous hearing about the reliability issues.
This is what I tell people that are worried about reliability because of what they read online.
"There are a few universal truths.
The first is that all unhappy customers will vent their disappointment anywhere and everywhere.
The second is that happy customers usually don’t bother posting positive reviews because they are busy enjoying their products.
99% of the negative things you read are from the 1% of people that have problems.
Both my Model 3s have been nothing short of amazing.
I've also noticed that a lot people buying Tesla's are coming from cars with a much lower MSRP. So their expectations skyrocket to an absurd level.
Thank you for the reply.
When the M3 refresh comes out I'm getting the performance !!! The anticipation is killing me ☹️☹️ I test drove it , I fell in love!! The acceleration , oh the acceleration !! No words ..... I was not used to instant torque it literally made me nauseous for a second 😁😁
A quick q. How do you find the overall cost of charging via superchargers compared to gas? It seems like you have to charge more often but cheaper than gas but I’m just wondering the whole logistics of fueling process. Currently considering getting one. Thanks!
It’s pretty similar to gas
I mention cost vs the gas car in my household at the end of the video.
Drivers in SC are the worst about staying in the left lane
Traveling to Disney in 3 weeks, were you allowed to park at the charging station for your entire stay?
Yes, only way I could justify the $35/day resort parking fee.
Volume very soft can't hear you talk on normal volumes
