Hodgey can’t rule out Brisbane because they only have to fix their centre forward connection, then rules out the dees immediately because they’re struggling with their centre forward connection hahaha, I don’t go for either team, just pointing out hodgey may be a little biased in this situation
Brisbane have proven goal kickers, Melbourne don’t. Hipwood and Daniher suck but they’re still better than any of the Melbourne tall forwards

@@danielsimpson607 Sharp, Clark, Freddy, Switta, Simpson, Walker and Brayshaw are all quick, and we can play quickly off the turnover in the middle, but we tend to play the slow game and switch from side to side when we bring it out of defense.

Gold Coast will win at least half their away games plus most home games eventually, and they will be a finals team at that point

So Freo beat a supposed top 4 team by 92 points, they’re half a win off 2nd, and could realistically be sitting equal wins with Sydney, but let’s write them off? Bit harsh tbh.

Freo had a very good performance against Melbourne, but that doesn't mean they will go on a winning run. They will still lose a couple of games to some average teams away from home along the way.

I highly doubt the same outcome would happen again with the experience now on this side. 2016 was a robbery, plain and simple.

Tradition can be described in another way... intergenerational guilt tripping. It's ridiculous to hold players to this criteria when the nature of the game, its rules and interpretations, and more importantly the length and frequency of suspensions have radically changed. These young players are still learning and will make mistakes, it's a ridiculously onerous requirement.

Listened to this with an open mind, but this affirms that Hodge is a clown. Title of video - “teams that can’t contend” lists the top 10 teams, bar Sydney and includes the team he used to play for - who sit 13th.

I agree with Hodge, I'm a 11 year carlton member. This year we cannot defence against Sydney, Collingwood and Geelong because of their fast counter attack/ball movement. 14:40

@@afez2752 you were still losing before Weitering got injured. Saad won't erase a 50 point deficit and you have 2 byes to Sydney 1 because of round 0. Now you have a full squad while other teams have injuries for example Richmond, Essendon, Collingwood, Brisbane all have key players missing. You have a lot of advantages. First of all you have a 10 day break going into this Essendon game who they only have a 7 day break, then you have a 2nd bye, then Geelong and an easy fixture to close out the season.

Essendon won't win the flag and neither will Carlton. Brisbane and Melbourne are out of the 8. GWS and Port are flaky. Sydney are miles ahead. To win the flag you have to get through them and I can't see any team doing that regardless of where it's played.
