I was pleasantly surprised with the performance that the X55 had to offer from gab to N64 and psp, even ports the X55 performed outstanding. I really enjoyed the screen. 5.5 inch IPS was a pleasure to look at for hours of continuous play. The ergonomics with the built in grips made it even better. I have the green model which I really like and stands out a lot. The Jelos build that came on this device is Rock solid and for the tinkerers out there other custom firmware such as Rock Nix and even a custom Android build are available. I played the device plugged into a portable monitor with my SN30 Pro controller and had a great time. It really is a great widescreen device and even after reviewing it, I can't seem to put it down.

2nd unit all sound went away and no troubleshooting worked , was able to return it .
3rd unit was on 100% Battery So I Shut It Down To Play The Next Day And It Will Not Power On . I've Plugged It Into Charger Repeatedly And It Won't Charge Or Power On On Even Show A Power Light . And Now It's Past The Return Window .

Looks sharp in Green. I have an older blue one and have just received a black one with the minor cosmetic updates. Nice to see them spell "Model " correctly on the back lol. Just wondering if its worth upgrading from Emuelec to Rocknix, as the black one came with Emuelec installed out of the box.
I have never used emulec on this device but I would say if you have a spare sd card give a shot and if you don’t like it you can just throw your old sd back in.

Loved the video man, it may be a flawed device in some aspects, but I love the Powkiddy X55, got mine last year and even the Stock Firmware works well, I'm just happy to be gaming on the go and getting to play and finish games I didn't get to back in the day. 🎮🤘👍
I have to agree one of my biggest appreciations for these devices is the fact that I get to go back and finish my backlogs.

Man, I just ordered this green model. Hopefully it comes with not many issues. Would love to “port” some of the other games like you did. As someone who isn’t super tech savy, how should I best go about improving the OS & porting games?

I updated mine to Rocknix to futureproof it as Jelos no longer supports it and other then the screen being a bit darker all seems to be working fine. Would recommend the Rocknix update 👍
Good to know. I have used RockNix on a few devices like the X55 and RGB30 and I like it. I have not had an issue with the Jelos build that came factory on the Rgb10Max3 so I have not switched but I can understand future proofing it.

What OS are you using? Been looking into what the best OS is currently. Heard that I should avoid the newest Rocknix OS for the moment and go with the Feb build of JELOS
@@DroidLocks6971 I’m going to be switching mine to Hall effect sticks just like I did with my RGB30. The stick sticks kind of snap onto cardinal directions but I’ve had good luck with swapping sticks so we will soon enough.
@@quikzero I am currently using the jelos build that came on the device. I have another card with RockNIX but have not felt the need to fully swap yet. I am also getting ready to make this thing dual boot android on emmc and JelOS on chip.
Oh and I got JelOS and a whole bunch of Roms a month or 2 after I got my X55, and it works well, just the battery doesn't always display the proper battery amount now and I can't my Port Master to wok...🤷♂️...but I'm still happy...

I have my and I'm having hard time with the configuration after i install jelo, the games has no sound, problem with the images, some roms system no loading, i like the interface that you have, it that what they call "core" I'm not handy in emulators.

Bought mine about a little over a month ago and I like it but didn't come with JELOS and won't update over wifi.
What OS did it come with?
Does it have Jelos?
Mine came with jelos. But I have also used RockNix on my X55
This one or tremui smart pro for a 5 years old boy
For a five year old I would more so lean toward the TrimUi Smart (Non Pro) because of it having a lanyard loop and the screen is recessed so don’t have to worry as much about it breaking.

I like my X55 but I find it's only good for postmaster. I'd rather play N64 and PSP on a Android device and everything else on my RK2023

@@2LoudTech No not interested in having an Android device without a touchscreen. Just got Rocknix installed and using that for now, hoping that someday a version of ArkOS will be released.

X55 Struggles Playing 3DO ROAD RASH Freezing Every Time Real Quik But I Can Play 3D0 ROAD RASH On My RGB30 With Same Chip Set As I Understand It
That’s strange being that the X55 has same soc and twice the ram. Something ain’t adding up. You may have to check your settings or possibly your OS build.
@2LoudTech it's the same slow to load jelos that's now supported on rgb30 . I'm Not sure what settings you're referring it .

You should swap out the sticks and see if that works for you. I actually didn’t care for the sticks on my rgb30 and put Hall effect sticks in.

I managed to get it connected an updated.
The issue is the are absolutely zero preloaded games. I was under the impression it would have some... I understand this is more for uploading roms, but I'm new to that an wasn't prepared to do all that just to play a single game.
If there is a way to access preloaded games I haven't found, please point me in that direction. Everything I search, sends me to how to load roms...
Because other than that, buttons feel great, screen looks good.

instead of the x55, I got the RG505 with this ingenious and incredibly cool OLED display.
and yes, I don't regret it for a single second!
with GammaOS the RG505 just runs perfectly!
No matter if PS2, Gamecube, Switch = everything is possible!
The lower systems run perfectly, of course!
So the bottom line is that I would prefer the RG505 to the x55 every time!

RG505 is nice but the devices your comparing come in at 2 completely different price points.

X55 aint new and improved, what are you talking about
I don’t know all of the improvements off hand but this model has a new colorway, Emmc and improved triggers as well as colored face buttons.
Sometimes these handhelds receive revised versions later on with minor changes. The Miyoo Mini has been revised like 4 times with minor tweaks. The trimui smart pro was revised to have improved shoulder buttons. This isn't all that uncommon but it doesn't show up in the listings for the products only usually

I have to disagree. At its price point I think it’s good with the 3566. I would agree with you if this thing was $180-$200.

@@DroidLocks6971 Powkiddy is shit and beyond for software support specifically. I hope these Chinese companies stop using crappy SoC and use mobile SoC like Snapdragon.
@ArcadeArea of course snapdragon is better but less cost effective. I mean handhelds do exist with snapdragons. Odin 1, Odin 2 and Ayaneo Pocket S just to name a few. Of course they cost double, triple and quadruple the price. 😂
