Why WEBSITE templates are ruining WEB DESIGN!

The Web Design world is splitted in two parties, the one that uses templates and the one that doesn't. I want to clarify that I am not against templates by themselves but that people are creating a lot of problems in the market. People lie about being Web Designers, using templates and selling them to their customers without doing any creative work for cheap prices. Do you think it's fair? Do you think that templates are a good way to do web design?

Thank you for saying this! Template "designers" are lowering the baseline measure of quality and value of design. We are all made poorer because of it; clients are getting generic and uninspired work and real designers have to fight an uphill battle on showing clients why they should value design.

Absolutely! It annoys me a lot the fact that most of the clients can’t appreciate good design because they constantly see “modern templaty websites”…so annoying…

This is specific to me but when I’m my class I see students do the same use templates because they don’t understand how to use the principles and our professor isn’t the best at teaching them I just think it’s a big learning GAP in teaching design which in someways forces others to go to templates rather than spend hours trying to figure some principles… it all depends what’s being taught and not too many really experienced and well seasoned designers are that willing to teach as well but definitely don’t condone using templates and passing them off as your design is lazy and cheap but I see the reason some folks run to it a lack of education in learning the right things

Not knowing the principle and having a knowledge gap means that these people are not expert and there is nothing wrong with that, but because of that they should focus on learning instead of selling. Also templates don’t teach anything to anyone in a school. I just don’t get why certain people pretend to be experts. By the way thank you very much for your words, I really appreciate them!!
