@7ChaosBlack I try to rhyme as many syllables as I can and the amount of multies usually varies every four bars but I usually rhyme anywhere from 4 to 9 syllables
Holy shit ill flow man. i love how you bring up immortal technique, R.A., jedi mind tricks and all the others man. you really do your homework man when you make your songs. im spreading the word about you.
Especially in the independent hip hop world, there are a lot of white rappers like Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Esoteric, Diabolic, Burke the Jurke, Ill Bill, Slaine, and Sean Strange. Those are all really good MC's, I mentioned most of them in this song but they're all white and they all collaborate with black and spanish rappers. Race doesn't seperate Hip Hopers. If you're a hip hop head like me, you associate yourself with other lovers of the hip hop culture. I only know a lot about it cause I'm
It's kinda difficult to explain. But I didn't start listening to hip hop because I wanted to be cool. I've almost always tried to avoid that bull shit. But rather pure curiosity lead me to it. I listened and realized I actually LIKE this stuff. Then the more I listen (which admittedly isn't much) the more stupid I feel but it's a good stupidity because it's like "hey guess what...you don't know jack." and then I feel compelled to learn more and more. I dunno, but did you ever feel that way?
I don't think there's a race thing at all in hip hop now. I mean the Beastie Boys were doing there thing since way back in the day. Same with MC Serch, he was one of the first people to feature Nas on a song. White people were always involved but Hip Hop does come originally from black culture but it's not only for black people. Hip Hop is an art form from beats, rhymes, break dancing, fashion, and graffiti. So it's for everybody and it's good to see the diversity nowadays.
I have to admit I am like a new born when it comes to the world of hip hop and rap. It was really only a few years ago that I thought what played on the radio was hip hop/rap and I assumed "underground" hip hop/rap was just overly violent and crude dick waving. I think it goes without saying that I had known zilch of the art and culture that is hip hop/rap. Point blank I'm uneducated. But I want to learn more. Not for the sake of "look at how much bullshit I know" but to just well...discover...
I know you're from NY but do you ever listen to Andre "Dre Dog" Nickatina or Equipto? If you haven't you should because they are pretty fucking dope. They are both from San Francisco.
Actually there are a hella lot of dope rappers from the Bay Area. Aside from Andre Nickatina and Equipto you should also check out the following artists (they are old but so what?)The Jacka, Mac Dre, E-40, and more. There is a site called A1yola the ultimate bay area rap collection. Check it out. Honestly I think it will take your rapping to the next level if you were to not only learn from the legends of the East Coast but also the masters of the West Coast. Plus it's just good music.
Agreed. I'm just saying there is a kinda stereotype that hip hop is racially divided. Actually thinking about it. ALL music seems to be divided in some way. I mean it be like if you look or act or think a certain way then you're expected to listen or even play/sing/rap/etc certain genres of music despite the fact everyone has their own individual tastes. It's just one of the many ways they try to label us all and put us in nice and tidy little "boxes". Thanks for the reply btw.
Did I use too think blacks are all thugs? No. I never believed our skin color will determine who we are nor will I ever. But for a while I thought I was too "white" to ever get hip hop so why try? But now latter in my journey I think I realized something. This whole "white vs black" thing...I dunno but it just seems manufactured. No, I don't mean there's never been real tension. But I think it's less the people who want to hate each other but rather the "forces" that we experience every day...
obsessed with it. It's just these new hip hop fans who just listen to what's promoted to them so they have no clue as to what hip hop is. they don't know the history, they don't know the legends, or what hip hop is capable of cuz they only see the watered down club music with terrible lyrics and whack ass beats. Talentless music, passionless music, with no purpose other then to satisfy stupid closed minded drunk people who have switched the market and basically ruined real hip hop music
Sorry, I don't mean to write my life story but I wanted to put down some background before I potentially make a fool of myself. But I had once thought Eminem was the only "real" white rapper. Why? Because he was the only white rapper I knew. Rap/hip hop was a "black" thing. I know that sounds racist as fuck but did rap not emerge from black culture? I should say that I do not consider it as a "bad" thing. Just different. I hope this isn't coming across the wrong way...
I see real hip hop and I see people who don't give a fuck what color you are. The only thing that matters is...can you spit? But then watch the media and it seems like there's no hope of us ever getting along. Not just with race but with many things: religion/atheism/philosophy, nationalism, culture, ideology, fashion, gender, orientation. It seems like something is trying to keep us divided. Again sorry if this comes across as naive and stupid. I dunno if I'm just crazy. What do you think?
i never got into lupe so he wasn't an influence for me, but i definitley respect him as an artist
You've always reminded me of Celph and Ap, man, love it.
@iReplaayy Cause I haven't established a fan base yet. But thanks for the support and spread the word homie
@SCstatic Hell yeah dude, AOTP, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal, Diabolic, and you, doesn't get much better.
