I had a wonderful experience in Italy in the 90s and recently went back. Since transitioning, I was concerned about what travel in Italy would look like as a transwoman and people were so nice to me that each city I went to I asked people about their opinion of LGBTQ+ people and I was really surprised and comforted by the generous responses. I think italians love love and life, fashin, artistic expression and food and drinks and things that feel good and get in your bones. My last month in Florence was incredible. People were curious about me and my journey and very protective of me as well. I don't think the people of Crema give a rat's ass who the movie is targeted to if brings in Euros and friendly people

Aww men. I did a call me by your name expedition this July with my then Italian Boyfriend, I myself am Dutch. The movie truly touched me and it ment a lot to me that he was willing to drive me around to see the sights. Besides the gut wrenching love story, I think the movie is a beautiful visual postcard of the North of Italy and made me super excited to explore his homeland with him. Just a month later though, back in the Netherlands, he broke up with me. He realized he still has feelings for his ex. This video makes me a bit nostalgic but I enjoyed seeing you have similar reactions to mine while being there. X
