Not sure I understand the question so I’ll just walk you through it: Solemn was at 4, then DF heals to 4 on drive check so both players are at the same damage. Solemn checks a heal on damage check, he heals to 3 then takes the damage puting him back at 4. Both players still on 4. Solemn damage checks another heal, same process happens; heal to 3, take the damage and go to 4 again. If there’d been another attack and he’d checked another heal he’d have been able to heal again. On the other hand, if DF doesn’t heal on drive the first heal doesn’t go off (the second one would but he’d probably have thrown everything to guard it if he could because it’d be the 6th damage).
Serious question: I'm thinking of starting with either Cardfight or Digimon. I checked out some basic rules off both games and they seem quite similar. Did someone try both games and if so which one would you suggest? I'm very interested to hear from you :) Thanks!
I think both are good. I've played cardfight vanguard longer than digimon, but I haven't received the new decks for the new series yet. Digimon is fairly new but have good mechanics. I've only played with the first 3 starter decks for digimon and each one is fun to play with & have different styles of play to keep it interesting as well. Vanguard has more volume in terms of decks & play styles because it's been around longer, especially in the cardfight vanguard premium format.

I'd rather have 3 huge swings, you almost never use Valiente's skill if it hits, it's mostly there to just force people to guard it

No, Eugene's skills are all "act" skills which means you have to manually activate them, and "act" skills can only be activated in the main phase

Yes because the boost only needs a card to have the keyword Overdress.
