This is achieved by using your tongue as a suction cup, pealing the reed back and releasing the reed while blowing into the mouthpiece. As a sax player: you can slap a bass. There's a technique called slap tonguing used often in jazz and contemporary sax solos and it's actually very fun to do

Fun fact: you can actually slap a bass saxophone. There's a technique called "slap tonging" which gives a pretty cool sound. It can also be used on instruments like bass clarinet because the reed is big enough

I've slapped by bass ocarina a few times. It sounds really weird, but it's a neat instrument. You're not really supposed to slap it, but who cares, it's fun. It has a really cool echo. But I guess it kind of depends on which one. I have two and they sound totally different. I really want a contrabass but they're too heavy for me.

I play bari sax which is similar to bass but higher but you can slap the keys/pads to the holes to make the pitch change and sometimes I slap the metal to get a percussion sound during rests
You forgot to cover base balalaika! It definitely can be slapped, and it is in general a very cool instrument. Highly recommended for your next video!
