Hi Abu, I have lived in Ontario for over 2 years after landing as a FSW EE PR but have worked fully remote for a Quebec Based employer. I have an Ontario DL and OHIP health card and have always filed taxes here. I should not face any issues with the "intent to reside outside Quebec" requirement while applying for citizenship right? Thanks
Did you intend to move to Quebec when you applied for PR through CEC? If so, I wouldn't move to Quebec. If something changed after you got your PR, I would try to settle elsewhere since Canada is so huge. I wouldn't risk anything by moving to Quebec. Others may give you different answers but to be on the safe side, try to settle in Ontario OR any of the other 9 provinces and 3 territories, so many opportunities outside Quebec.
@@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah no, I did not intend to move. I have family in Quebec so that is why I am asking if it is ok to do it when I get my citizenship. If it is safe to do it, I might wait to get the citizenship. Thanks
@@Andres1941 When you get your citizenship nobody cares where you live, even outside Canada, but for now I would recommend settling in Ontario for a while and then you can move to Quebec. Technically as a PR you can live anywhere but I am not someone who likes taking risks with immigration stuff so I'd rather wait it out a bit.
Hey Abu, I'm a FSW through EE. I have good reasons to stay in Quebec if needs be (family), and in my application I stated that I intend to reside in Quebec at some point. Is that a mistake that might cause refusal? I also submitted a web form to explain my case and that I won't reside in Quebec ultimately.
Check your application tracker and see if you've passed eligibility. If you have then that's fine. As an EE applicant it doesn't mean you're not allowed to set foot in Quebec, you are allowed to go to Quebec, but it's settling there that's risky. If you have a plan to leave Quebec after going there initially, that should be fine, but don't indicate that you intend to settle in Quebec. If I were you what I would have done instead is to mention wherever you intend to settle e.g. Ontario, and then after landing, visit Quebec for a while and then move to another province later.
@@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah I have submitted a web form to try and explain the case, and that I won’t be residing in Quebec. Do you think IRCC takes this into consideration? Or they might refuse it before checking my form?
I got my PR on 4th october 2021 in ottawa with TR TO PR program i lived there until febuary 2022. i went to india for five months i entered in quebec on 13th july 2022 and i started working there from august 2022 is it okk to live there after tr to pr??
Yes, your employer's address can be different from your work location. For example I work remotely and the company is based in Calgary but I work from home in Edmonton. Can I say I work in Calgary? No! I don't work in Calgary, I work in Edmonton, but my employer is based in Calgary.
@@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah Thanks for your reply. I applied for a job based in Gatinuea QC (can work from anywhere in Canada) a few weeks ago. At the time I did not have high hope for the opportunity, but now they are asking for reference check. As I am at the stage of EE application, already got ITA and collecting document now, I am concern about its impact on my application.
This was helpful Abu ! I started my process in Dec 2020. Had no intent of living in Quebec. But I joined a company here in India middle of last year and my PR came through this year. The company wants me to move to Quebec ! (I havent landed yet and I know that I cant land in Quebec). While I know after landing in Toronto I can move to Quebec, I am worried if that will raise questions during my citizenship process :(
You can land in Quebec because Montreal YUL is a CBSA manned port of entry. What's not allowed for EE candidates is SETTLING in Quebec. If you land in Toronto then move to Quebec after a couple of years that's ok, but if you land in Toronto then move to Quebec after a few weeks then it's the same as landing in Quebec and staying there.
@@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah I have read so many posts about people moving to Quebec right after getting their PR card..and they claim they didn't face any issues. But yes, its in a grey area really, and probably best to err on the side of caution. The company's lawyers claim that I should stay outside Quebec for 6 months and then move there and that shouldnt be an issue. I wish the laws were clearer and didnt go into obligations as such with different interpretations ! Thanks for replying tho. The traffic light signal example was really good !
@@pranavkumar1818 As a PR you'll never face any issues when you move anywhere in Canada. All those people who moved to Quebec after getting PR card, are they citizens now?
@@GoingPlaceswithAbuMicah I am not sure at all ! But really, if Canadian laws state that you can live and work anywhere in Canada as a PR, should it create issues when applying for a citizenship ? I have read that it does for PNP nominees who moved out..
@@pranavkumar1818 Your rights as a PR can never supercede your OBLIGATIONS. If you lied on your immigration application that you intend to live in Ontario, and Ontario nominates you, then that is a violation that can supercede your right to live and work anywhere in Canada. I'm not 100% sure that the same law applies to Quebec, but Quebec is not a part of the Express Entry system and it's clearly stated in the application portal and Canada website.
Thank you Abu for addressing such a mysterious question. YOUR RIGHT CANNOT SUPERCEDE YOUR OBLIGATION. Thank you a lot.
Thank you so much for helping information keep up good work bro

Hi, thank you for this video. As a FWS candidate, can you move to Quebec after landing in any other province of Canada ?
I wouldn't try that honestly.
My sister came to quebec on close work permit ....she lives and work in Quebec....Can she apply for PR through express entry ?
Yes she can, but she will need to plan to move outside Quebec, they will ask this during the application process

It does not
