What a cool trip down memory lane! The Ultra Van was manufactured in Oakland, CA in 1964 & my dad considered buying one, but they couldn't build one in time form our cross country trip. We bought a Dodge Motor Home used instead. Dad was & I think still is FMCA 731 !!
Awesome video of Corvair powered Ultra Vans. What engines were used to power the Ultra van? I know most of them were Corvairs until 1969. But what engine sizes were available during the Ultra Van's production run? 🙂

That doesn't sound like much for a vehicle weighing in at over 3000lbs. I know that between 1965 and and 1969, they upped the horsepower to 150bhp or more. Were they ever used in the Ultra Van?

Just saw a renovated one in Brantford ON Sunday July 31 2011. Very cool. Very low slung compared even to modern pickup trucks.
