***** And probably since Blue was already out in Japan, they must've decided to make Blue the opposite game to Red rather than Green in the Western releases. So in the end, we got Red, Blue and Yellow while they got Red, Green, Blue AND Yellow. Our versions of Red and Blue had exactly what Japanese Blue had: The updated sprites and slight bug fixes or something like that while Japan's Red had the different sprites and unfixed bugs alongside Green.
This is nostalgic to me I remember watching this on my 3Ds before X and Y released! It made me even more hyped for Pokemon X and Y. I'm here from 2022 and we are getting the first Open World Pokemon games with Pokemon Scarlett and Violet! The Future is looking more bright after Pokemon Legends Arceus.
I know, it felt like it was a new starting point for the series and it actually included a feature from HG, SS - taking pictures in various places! Plus the region was incredibly picturesque - much more than sun and moon
aaaahh... pokemon platinum. my favourite game when I was 6 years old. thank you Nintendo for all the beautiful memories from that time. and right now, Giratina is still my favourite pokemon. love you Nintendo, I hope you'll never ever stop making pokemon games. ugh... only when I think about it... chickenskin...
sheepsheep schaap I got Pokemon Diamond when I was 7 or 8. But platinum is probably my favourite. So many awesome memories of that time. I remember being at my friends house and he had the game as well and we both went through the distortion world together, and caught Girantina.
firstly, i agree. diamond is my fav game and i love it so much (turtwig is my fav pokemon!) secondly, HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. AS IF nintendo are EVER gong to stop pokemon. They get so much money through endless piles of merchandise, advertising, trading cards and the shameless cashgrab which relies mostly on nostalgia of remaking games every few years. Also by making like 2 of the same games at once and then remaking it into another game 2 years later. I love you nintendo (and marketing)
my first game was Blue version. i remember going to the Pokemon League at Toys R Us, and the day they set up Pokemon Stadium in the gaming section when it first came out. people pulled up chairs to watch and take turns battling each other. man do i miss those days. i'm just glad i was able to be a part of it during the days of Gen 1 and 2 when pokemon was at it's peak. i fell out of it when Gen 3 came along and didn't get back into it until Gen 5.
@@TheRawyan yeah, i meant peak in popularity. but i think the games only started taking a big downward turn starting with Gen 7. i actually liked Gen 6.

I've been into Pokémon since Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and I really wish I had gotten into the Pokémon series earlier! Man there are so many lucky people out there who played Pokemon as kids! I grew up as these games were released, but I was never aware of them. When I found out about it, I was only 6 and I was never really into these kinds of games, but the worse part was that when I got older and finally grew interest in Pokémon, my parents would never get me a Nintendo DS system! Because of that, I never grew up with it until they finally got me a 3DS in 2011. You guys are so damn lucky, but for all you guys out there that like Pokemon, I really get annoyed when people brag about how much they played Pokémon as kids! I get it, all right?! I'm jealous already!
Now, read my story: I never had a Game Boy, GB Color, GB Advance, Nintendo DS, or either a 3DS. Mi first game was Emerald on an emulator in my PC 10 years ago. You are luckier than me.
Been playing since Red and Blue were released in America, and my love for the series hasn't died. What little I played of X and Y has been very fun...sadly though, I had to send my 3DS to get repaired, and I am itching to get it back so I can resume!

Bacca Venom lol same but he talked about Pokemon blue and red and he said then the next four continuing from blue and red all the way to black and white and then the new Pokemon xy
Diamond, Sapphire and Silver will always be in my heart. Silver was the first one I really really liked - and as the man in the video said; that a whole new region got unlocked after you did get past the first region - you can't understand how happy I was then that happened. :)

i've played it, and i can assure you that it's the worst generation. that doesn't mean it's bad, but sequels are meant to surpass the previous ones, and all pokémon generations did that so far. going from XY to Red and Blue makes me realize just how bad the first gen really is.
which has 2 forms indiviualized between the 2 versions. plus the idea they were going for that time around made the idea of a Grey version seem redundant considering it was meant to be played more as a sequel as opposed to a perfected product like in the past.
Because, in my opinion, bringing up Japanese Red and Green is an interesting tidbit about the original games that not every fan might know. It's also highly important as the Japanese Blue essentially became the Mega Man 2 of the franchise; JP Red/Green had a good thing going but didn't sell all that well, Blue made it an international icon.

Really well done Nintendo.
they ask for legendary pokemon with low levels because there was a method to clone pokemon in the gts, but to do that you had to do an impossible trade so that the pokemon that you are trying to clone doesn't get traded
I remember in 4th grade I believe it was, I remember going to my friends house in his room looking at the stickers memorizing which is which. Then, playing my first game which was Pokemon Sapphire then buying Pokemon black soon after. I even have the earliest card I could remember, Roselia
More to do. I have Y. Excellent story, AMAZING GRAPHICS, wicked new battle strategies and awesome mega evolutions. Problems include, however, only about 70 new pokemon, very few megas, 4 legendaries to catch and only two post game "pass time" type features. Battle Maison and one more.
I've been a Pokemon fan since I played Pokemon Ruby and Emerald and I remember that I used to play it on my pink Game boy. I've watched the old movies too and my favorite one was Pokemon Heroes ♡
The guy got the first games wrong.
It was Red and GREEN in Japan. It became Red and Blue everywhere else.
No actually it was the three: Red, Blue, and green.
***** Blue in Japan came some time after Red and Green. It pretty much fixed some bugs and updated the sprites on the Pokemon.
Ooohhhh that makes sense.
