Let's hope somebody comes to their senses purchase the assets and starts the production again. Just about every car model on the road today uses some part of Saab's patents.....which is a list as long as the Great Wall. Everything from pollen filters, heated seats, dual diagonal braking systems...the list goes on and on. Do a Google search for Saab patents and you'll be pleasantly surprised at what parts of their technology exist in your current car. GM didn't only buy into Saab because they were a 'quirky' little car company. Those patents are worth 'serious' money.
Oh...I loved this video! My 9.3 TiD ecopower was born there a few days ago!! I´m still waiting for it to be out of the customhouse (alfândega(pt)/douanières(fr)...not sure about the translation). The last 78 days have been so stressing!
Just in case you didnt know saab isnt really a luxury car, its quite affordable actually. Especially used saabs. Parts are quite cheap, really a great car if you find one that has been maintained. I have a 2007 9-3 with black rims and black paint and it runs good except i think its eating oil? :(
I have a SAAB 9-3. Great car. Pity that it is no more. The Swedish goverment and the metalworkers union should have done something to save such a great name. Sorry for all the unemployed people in Trolhättan!
Great cars. I have two now just bought an 05 93 Arc. Some say it's dead but its being produced in one form or another in at least three countries including China and Turkey. No Saab name but the same car. Turkey may even export some cars built on the 93 design. Nevs will have several new models built in the Trollhaten plant and assembled in China. As of now they can't use Saab name but I think once they can prove they can build.... that may change. So is Saab dead.....dead in name only.....for now.
I have a saab and we've had some stuff go wrong with it and yes some of the parts are expensive.. but what do you expect with a luxury car.. with that said, evertime I go driving around all my friends say how they love my car that its so fast sleek looking and omg dont let me forget what the woman say about my car haha its a chick magnet.

I believe Saab said that all production will take place in Trollhattan, but that may be incorrect and it would make the cost of the car lower.
