So now they Merged with Mechanical /Automobile Due to digital India Electronics/ Software components are More in Mechanical machines And also Day by day Electric vehicles manufacturing company are increasing and they are trying for vanishing petrol/Diesel vehicles completely.(But i know it is not possible) So now almost all people are neglected Mechanical/ Automobile engineering courses and studying software related engineering course. But remember Mechanical engineering is Back bone of all engineering branches and It will never Fails infront of any branches.

My two advices would be: 1) Get into research if you know your subject interest and expertise. Most research programs are funded. 2) Do a course based Master's in Engineering or Project Management. This will help you in your Eng field but will alao open your doors to Operations and Supply Chain opportunities. A simple Undergraduate (Bsc/BTech) doesn't cut it anymore. Also if you are just in it for money don't even bother just open a business.
