This is gold! Takes me back in time. Ahhh the good ol days
Really stoked to be taking my son Liam to see them at the Republik December 1! Liam is 13, and super into creating music on Abelton and Logic- and seeing live music! Last time I saw Pepper was in Kona around 2002- first ever Kona Town Music Fest with Mad Caddies, Natural Vibes- etc. Much love to Kainoa and Uncle Ferp, Lehua and all of the people I miss so much from Kona! I miss Kona so much! Aloha- Toby! :)
It's all about the A and D chords. So many Pepper, Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, and Long Beach songs are upstroke A and D with a G chorus. Still grooves.
I've been listening to this song since I was in high school, never knew there was a music video! This makes me wanna visit Hawaii.
I'm sick and tired of going through every damn video on youtube with pepper in it and having people comparing Pepper with Sublime. They have a similar style, so what? It's good isn't it?! Why can't we just like both of them and stop saying they ripped off Sublime. All bands have their inspirations , they're allowed to sound similar. I love Sublime just as much as Pepper. But it doesn't entitle Sublime to be one of a kind. I'm happy people are taking Sublime's roots. It's a good sound.
youd think people would be greatful for a band coming out with new material with the same genre as the band they loved? doesnt that make sense to anyone else. i love pepper, and i loved sublime.
awesome. when i saw this it reminded me of the old school movie called North Shore
Brings me back to 2013. The coronado boys and I used to bump this always - great times.
sounds like sublime's Little District in the opening of the verses ;)
Yup
Pepper was my happy music back in my school days.
No they are original. Look into sublime most of songs were covers or ripped offs.
man, don´t need no lighter, this song will ignite your joint for you!
these guys have so much energy!! there shows are the best so far...
sublime is the greatest band ever.
pepper is awesome.
thats it
Won a ticket giveaway for the "20 Years of Kona Town" Tour!! Can't wait for March 15th in Virginia Beach!!! Stoked for the 6 hour road trip! From Kingsport Tennessee!!!
i love ska
Pepper spices not just food but life too now!
Back when life was easy. Rock on pepper
best thing that happened since sublime! pepper & the expendables!!
sublime and pepper= the type of music
thats my hometown!
thumbs up for Kona!!
Holy balls, this song is OLD.
Bt I STILL love it ((((:
@badfish42092
agreed. Sublime is the best, but in Bradley's absence this is the next best thing!
Ahh I love Kona!🤙🏻
Reggae was Ska before there was such a thing as Reggae? Havent you ever listened to the old stuff from the 50's?
I have got to know these dudes! Can't be to many years apart. I'm a Kona boy 70's , 80's and 90's. Konawaena alum.
love these guys! can't wait to see them in santa barbara at west beach!!
Gotta love the old Toyota

This song is still fiyah in 2022!!
Fuck da haters..I'll always love Pepper
omg this video is neat
going to see them in sac baby!!! they were an awesome sign for volcom! especially since volcom ent lost cKy.
If you guys wanna talk about who influenced who, check out The Toasters.
Without them bands like Sublime, 311, Op Ivy and yes even Pepper wouldnt have been as successful as they are.
Also since this is such an under represented genre of music dont you think we should stick together?
theres always an old toyota truck lol...
dope song
@Heyjude702 i think this is the quote you're looking for:
"The bottom line is I love good music and I try to shy away from all these labels that people think are so necessary to slap on music. It seems like people get afraid of a certain music if they can't pigeonhole it to their satisfaction. They will be up all night trying to slap a label on Sublime. Good music is good music, and that should be enough for anybody.
paradise city exists!!!
from Sublimes 5446 thats my number? DOn't get me wrong Sublime is one of my favorite bands of all time but you need to look up who wrote 5446 if you have any respect for reggae
yo peppers the shit
@74blazeup Sublime did quite a few covers. A significant ammount of them. But they added their own spin to the, to the point that you'd swear it was theirs. They also had a lot of songs they wrote, most songs that weren't on Everything Under the Sun were written by the band. And the lyrics were deep. Depressingly deep, to the point that it sounds happy unless you know Brad's story.
i wish i could live like that..
@awakeandbaked Yes, that is exactly it! Thank you! Who said that? Was it Bradley?
fuck yeah... seein pepper, 311 and the offspring on july 24 at the Irvine ampitheater
The reason they sound similar is because they are pretty much almost the exact same kind of music. On top of that, Bradley Nowell signed Pepper, along with bands like Slightly Stoopid, to his record label, and probably liked the sound they had because it was the kind of music he liked to play. Both of them are awesome bands.
Bradley died in 1996 so he didn't sign either of those bands to his record label lol nice try though
Ahh...reminds me of those summers is West Virginia.
@TheGianoShow Yeah, exactly
Sublime formed a unique sound together, as a band. They were influenced by many different genres of music and many different life experiences that made them fun, unique and interesting to listen to.
Their sound was uplifting and different and this was what lead to their success; there was simply no one else like them.
Pepper have copied everything about their sound and are entirely unoriginal in this respect. They're capitalizing on a success that they don't deserve.
stop arguing, sublime is my alltime favorite band but that doesnt mean pepper isnt FUCKING AWESOME. reggae/ska is the chillest genre of music wich means u shud chill out and enjoy the music instead of critisizing one band or the other, if u dont like pepper why are u commenting this vid. p.s. IM SEEING THEM IN 2 WEEKS!!!!
i love this video :)
good song
\o/
Where on the big island are they doing the cliff jumping?
Check out PHAT REGGAE DUB from Huntington Beach, Ca; with a new single 'Back to the Pad' ! Fresh and heavy reggae vibes!
it may be a shitty town but it's got a pretty rad dirt bike track(s)! if you don't like it, change it! I was sick of Hillsboro, Or so I moved to San Diego... best decision ever!! ohh and fuck yeah for Pepper!
@orgasplosion no they both make real chill music. the comparison is easy to come by
wow awesome!!!! :DD
anybody know the first line of this song?? The lyrics online don't sound right
Pepper REP For the KAILUA -KONA,HAWAII
I agree. Sure, Pepper is Ska and Sublime pretty much invented Ska, but they aint around anymore! Should such a kickass music genre be laid to rest just coz the original dude is dead? NO! Listen to enough Pepper and you'll see they got their own distinctive sound. Pepper kicks ass, hands down.
I am the 420th person to like this song.. AWESOME!!!
🌺💙💕
@jovas14rocks
Slightly stoopid, sublime, LBDA, pepper... they're all good....
@Onelove4Sublime Amen brother!!!
i do see resemblence with sublime and pepper there both great.
They were all on the same label. Pepper , Sublime, and Slightly Stoopid.
@TheGMZSPhilms They have a very similar baseline and vocal styles in some songs too, but that again falls under the ska variation of style.
Boy, would I like to get a Piece of that!
SKA AINT DEAD.
hollister is terrible but its right next to Santa Cruz. represennttttt
@Fosterpj09 YEAA!! I LIVE IN SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA!!!!...sorry to hear bro...COME DOWN TO SANTA MONICA!!!
i miss Kona,my family(i love ya yesod)
@Heyjude702 i totally agree
pepper sounds nothing like sublime, and the vocals for pepper are way better than sublime
the first time i heard this song i thought Brad was singing. makes me miss Sublime a lil bit
sorta reminds me of little district by sublime.. awesome
@WhiteboyTrey2 definitely. To the closed mind, they would sound similar
SUBLIME.
This is good music people. ^_~
I remember those days [Incomprehensible] money
Never checked the price, it just all came to me
But now in days I'll be pinchin' every penny
5 star dining at my local Denny's
I've been sitting on the curb in your neighborhood
Looking at that streetlight thinking how I could
Just get one response, maybe a glance
But the system has it's rules about the second chance
Living by the tracks in the Barrio
Keeps my welfare state from the Don Risto
Don't be amazed when you see me out of line
My baseball bat will take care of Joe Grind
Thought I was one, baby, I'm a fool
Because I've been wrong for years
Ain't it funny how everybody knows but you
Couldn't imagine what else you could do
Oh, I'll be craving that way
Oh, I, craving that way
Ain't it funny how everybody knows but you
Couldn't imagine what else you could do
Ain't it funny how everybody knows but you
Couldn't imagine what else you could do
Please spare me your regards, baby
Time is long when your waiting patiently
That bed used to be so good
Now my pillow is a curb in your neighborhood
Thought I was one but baby I'm a fool
Because I've been wrong for years
Oh, I'll be craving that way
Oh, I, craving that way
Oh, I'll be craving that way
Oh, I, craving that way
Oh, I'll be craving that way
Oh, I, craving that way
Oh, I'll be craving that way
Oh, I, craving that way

@Heyjude702 yeah, it was Brad :)
stop with the fucking comparisons pepper is pepper and sublime is sublime
haha great video
@TheGMZSPhilms yeah, my bad. Baseline would mean they are pretty much exactly the same :P
i think 311 is the one that started the influence for these bands, although 311 was influenced by red hot chili peppers.
OMGPOP
Is it me or does this sound like little district haha by sublime!!!
now a days Ill be pinchin every penny
5 star dining at my local dennys!!!
correct me if im wrong but, is tht mark hoppus on the truck?
