Zandi I did apprenticeship and I have a red seal trade test, I wanna know wat red seal means nd I also hear some people saying trade test is a diploma since its m+3, can you please clarify
If you have a B-tech degree in engineering, will you still have to follow the steps of getting your GCC same as when you have an N6?, Or does it take a different route?
A B.Eng is more theoretical and is offered at Universities such as Pretoria, Wits, Stellenbosh etc and is completed in 4 years. The BTech or Bachelor of Technology is obtained after completing a NDip at University of Technologys such as Vaal, DUT, CPUT etc and is both theoretical and practical. It takes just 1 year to complete. Hope that helps.
If you have a high IQ like over 120 and can handle the maths and the thought processes the Bh Eng and then gaining your PrEng is way ahead of the B Tech. B Tech these days are handed out on a plate, so are B Eng but not PrEng. There are many people walking around with given on a plate B Eng but cannot get the PrEng.
Hello Zanele, do you know of any GCC holders in Mechanical Engineering who have done it through the tvet college route. If so can you manage to get me into contact with them?
Hey is there any GCC in chemical engineering wen someone has done chemical engineering at TVET and I want to know after finishing my N6 in chemical engineering if I want to complete a BTech how many years it will take for me to finish if I haven't done my practical months after n6
Once you obtain an n3, you can then apply to a university with your to do a btech, and I think you will start at second year meaning you'd have to complete an additional 2-3 years depending on how much modules you register for per semester
@@humphreymudau6613 Thanks a lot Humphrey. I have been accepted for next year and I was worried if the UNISA diploma is gonna be as good as any other Uni of Tech diploma when looking for Work-directed Learning opportunities.

Heyy there I know that this video isn't about The GCC certificate but I really need your advise🥺I'm currently doing my N1 electrical engineering at a college...I have a few questions you could hopefully answer 1)how many years of experience would I need to qualify to write the GCC exam?? 2)is the GCC certificate only recognized in South Africa or is it recognized internationally??? 3)would I be able to work as a GCC engineer in any other country???
Your GCC is not really recognised in other countries. Only a PrEng is a recognised engineer, and even they have to do either a written or verbal exam to be accepted. Most degrees and diplomas from Africa are not wanted in the Western world as they are not up to standard. The rate of structural failures has risen dramatically over recent years due to non compliance with the required engineering codes in structural engineering. After more than 50 years in the game I have yet to work on a large project that was error free in Africa.
Hey , I just wanted to ask , how many years would it take me to get a B tech in civil engineering, I’m starting my National diploma in civil engineering and I was wondering , how and how long it would take to get my B tech ?
So, assuming you've started this year, 2021, you'd be done your National Diploma in 2023. Afterwards, you can go for your Bachelor of Technology, which would take just 1 more year. Hope that helps. Good luck.
@@SirwilliamsX Hi Siya, If you're looking to go for a BSc, you'd have to most likely start applying to another University that offers it. Also you'd have to meet the minimum requirements. My advice though would be to continue with your National Diploma and then progress to get your Advanced Diploma, which is the same NQF level as a BSc. Good luck!
Zanele nkomo or anyone can you please explain to me what exactly is the difference between a diploma National diploma National nated diploma And which one is better for mechanical engineering cause I tried finding out information I'm just lost
There's no qualification that is "better" than another. It all depends on what exactly you want to get from your studies or whether your career path is right for you. Both the National Diploma offered by Universities of Technology (UoTs) and the National N Diploma offered by Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges are registered at NQF level 6. While both are registered at the same NQF level, they are not equivalent as each qualification has a specific purpose and exit-level outcomes. National Diploma articulates to the Bachelor of Technology at NQF level 7, and the National N Diploma articulates vertically with a Bachelors Degree at NQF level 7 in the related field, and horizontally with a Diploma or Advanced Certificate at NQF level 6. So, what's an Advanced Diploma? Well, it's pretty much a replacement for a Bachelor of Technology degree, which means in future, you won't be able to apply for a BTech because it's being phased out and replaced with an Advanced Diploma. Like the BTech, the Advanced Diploma is at NQF 7.
Hi Zanele can you do a video explaining the process from N6 to engineering professional.
Please do a video on the new BengTech VS BEng. Also touch on the articulation between the two. How one can convert from bengtech to beng
Great video MaNkomo
Thank you

Is it a good idea to study engineering at Unisa?
Please, anyone is welcome to answer this.
@@LUYOLO16 yes you just need to be disiplined but if you need to be monitored go to tut dut or any other university of technology
