@Obligate Carnivore probably true, in a roundabout way. Only because depression seeks the escape that drugs provide.. so maybe it was just a matter of time- but how sad is it, knowing just how ridiculously avoidable his death really was. Everyone who loves peep should be very angry, knowing that!
He suffered depression, but time (among other things) can change/fix that, & he was cut off from that opportunity. Far too soon.

I was in such a deep depressive mood earlier, questioning whether I should just give up and call the quits. Suddenly this song started playing in my playlist, and my mood somehow skyrockteted. People sometimes write him off as an inevitable because of his depression& addictions, but with time, those could've been fixed! But he was robbed of the opportunity. How sad is it that he had only 1 more show to go (well 2 if you count the performance he was supposed to do that same night), only TWO left to go, before parting ways with the degenerate gbc leaches.. he moved to a different COUNTRY to get away from them, only coming back to the states to tour, unfortunately there was too much toxicity surrounding him, despite being for a short time. Everyone should check out videos from that tour, watch a couple from the foreign dates, then watch a few fun the US dates & tell me you can't see a DRASTIC difference between them, the difference is SHOCKING..!

It's ironic when I see people give this song all these great reviews in the comments because this is exactly from that era in Peeps music career where everyone was talking trash about him and his videos had terrible ratings... This very song got so much hate back in the day.
It's a shame people didn't start giving him love until shortly before he passed away. and now after he passed away people give him love everywhere... Most people don't even know that he mostly got tons of hate during his living-days.
It's funny how most people hated him when he was doing his "rap-style". But I somewhat enjoy that much more than his rock/punk.
I became obsessed after his death, 2020 to be exact so I don't know all the details. But I think why he was hated so much was because of his emo/white image and also the fact that he didn't belong to ant genre. It was just Gustav making music.
Not to mention that a lot people hates when people implement something new. That's why old heads always hate on new music. And presumably we will do the same thing when it's our time to get bald.
