    • @MartyM3171

      @@mysticpizza02 I use liquid detergent, so it’s not really a problem for me, but it’s recommended that you leave the drawer and door open to let it dry after use, which I do. I think that’s fairly common, my previous Hotpoint had the same recommendation.

      I just bought a
      8kg version 28250
      I'm no expert and as I had a Bosch before I just only really looked at the same make in a local shop.
      I think as you get a Free 5 year warranty if bought before the end of March and registered within 28 days, not that I'd wait that long myself to register.
      Seems to me like Bosch must have faith in their machines 👍
      Maybe other makes do this I don't know ??

    Great film. Thank you very, very much. Last week I bought exactly the same model, waiting for delivery. After watching your video, the washing machine secrets are revealed. Now I know how to pick the best programme, what info is given on display, for what is the little blue flap if you use washing liquid (new for me, I mean a flap, not washing liquid :D ) and how to become a millonaire by emptying a filter :). To be honest, there are 2 things more I haven't encountered yet: a very useful small pipe for emptying water from the drum and a button for emergency opening of the door (next to the filter). You did a fantastic job, thanks again.

    I would like to add about regarding the drum clean. If you do wash a lot at a low temperature then eventually the washing machine will flash a drum looking icon which is indicating that you need to a drum clean as it heats the water at a high temperature.

    I like the fact each programme tells you the maximum load. I've found in the energy group I'm on that many people are using the shorter programmes but putting the full 9kg in. They say they are happy with the results but it makes no sense to me.
    Personally I've moved to washing most of my loads on cold with dedicated cold wash detergent This is what many people around the world already do.
    Using a cost meter I've found that my full 9kg cottons programme of 1:29 reduces to 1:15 with no heat and costs around 2p which is brilliant. Ive been using 99% cold wash now for over a year and it's saved me a fortune in my electricity bill whilst I've been very happy with results- I've actually found that a cold wash removes stains a hot wash will not and is quicker and less harsh on clothes towels and bedding.

      To an extent you can damage the machine but you will also find that the washing performance won't be as good if its too full.

    Can you connect a hot water supply to the machine to reduce energy costs? Have solar heated water and have cold and hot supplies behind the machine!

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are not really designed to be connected to a hot water supply, especially as most people are washing at lower temperatures now and connecting a cold water supply will normally be preferable for the low temperatures.

    Is there the facility to just spin wet clothes please, I am having a machine delivered in a couple of days and the delivery guys are fitting it for me but don’t think they will carry any accessories like for the water outlet hose to connect into a drain pipe, I don’t want to be stuck if they can’t do it. My present machine, which is a Siemens will I presume have a similar connection, it is nearly 15 years old, what should I do ?

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These machines will have the drain pipe already attached and if you are having it installed, you should be fine. Especially if you have had a Siemens machine before. If you needed any pipes to be extended, if they are a decent company, then they should carry longer hoses on their van to complete the job for you.

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you put in 6kg into a 2kg load, it will wash but will take a lot longer than the time stated and the performance of the wash may not be as good too.

  • @Maireadschannel
    @Maireadschannel 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    thanks for going through everything, very informative video. i have one question, do you have to weigh the clothes yourself, or does the machine tell you the weight of the clothes you’ve inserted. also if you put 3kg in a 2kg wash will it just not work or what happens?

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn't weigh the clothes, you have to make an educated guess what load you are putting in, so if you wanted to know more accurately you would need to weigh them yourself. If you put 3kg in a load that is designed for a 2kg wash then it will just take longer and the performance of the wash won't be as good.

    Really helpful videos when researching what new machine to buy, thank you! Wondering what the difference is between the Bosch 4 and 6 Series 9kg 1400 spin? Only thing I can see is that the 4 has a pre-wash and the 6 has substituted this for a duvet wash? I have also always been a powder fan but lots of people moving away from this - other than the drawer getting constantly gunked up (which never used to be a problem with a previous hot water feed) is there a reason why? Which is better, capsules or liquid? I think that I understand that capsules go directly in the drum and liquid in the drawer still?

    • @lords-electrical

      I would check to make sure the drain hose isn't blocked as that can cause the machine not to empty and spin properly

    My washing machine has just died after 25yrs sterling service, and looking for a new one I have come to the conclusion that the new machines with all their nonsense programmes are not progress. In 47yrs I have had 2 washing machines and I have never had to clean the drum, I washed my whites in hot water. Nor do I understand how its more economical with cold fill and programmes taking hours to process. Neither do I need digital readouts and musical notes. I need a reasonable wash time,1hr.15mins is ok I think, sensible programmes, whites, colourfast, non colourfast, mixed load, wool and delicate with optional prewash, heavysoil, and rinse hold buttons, long and short rinse and drain, a knob and start button.HELP.

      The most popular brand we sell is Bosch as they offer most of the options you are after, but wash times will be longer than you are used to. The machines now will soak the clothes for longer which means the amount of water used should be less than on your old machine. You also have the option of quicker program times too with features like Speed Perfect

  • @puffypuff9779

    I have this machine. There are 3 programmes that allow a9kg load and one of those is a pre wash.
    The other two take 3 hours 29 minutes and the other takes 3 hours 45 minutes.
    Far too long.

    • @lords-electrical

    • @CarolineBrown-v1l
      @CarolineBrown-v1l 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lords-electrical I should update on this, because John Lewis have been back out very quickly to look at the issue, and the problem potentially was my existing pipes under the sink, for which a small new part that I can get will alleviate. I have now done 3 loads and it seems to be a decent machine in terms of cleaning clothes which is all I wanted. It is quiet (not so quiet as my old LG - that thing was nearly silent), but this is quiet and a nice looking machine, only had it 5 days now, but it works well enough.

    Why arw those bolts there and why are they so important to take out

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are transit bolts and are designed to hold the drum steady whilst in transit. If they are not removed then they will damage the machine as the drum cannot move around freely as it should be intended.

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not that we stock, it would be great but at the moment there isn't a washer with a weight sensor. It is a great idea as a lot of customers don't really know what load it is they are putting in their machine.
