Sir as you said similar molecules when combined can not be called compounds but sir we have compounds like fullerene and other carbon compound which combines through catenation C-C linkage then how they can b called as compound please illustrate

Actually fullerene is a allotrope of carbon, that is a (group of)molecules, it has an unique cage-like structure. it is not considered as a compound.it readily accepts and donates electron hense as compare to diamond it's ready to react. In general language we usually call it compound.
Catenation shown by carbon atom, not only in fullerene as well as another organic compounds also.
only heterofullerene considered as a group of compound because they have another type of atom like N,B,O,As etc.
