Awesome information! He briefly mentioned high and low pH...another question is which products can be safely lowered in a tank mix to a pH of 5.0, and what happens if you accidentally lower the pH of the ones that shouldn't be lowered.
That is a great question. We are planning on doing a follow up video on this to answer that and a few other questions it raised. Thanks for watching. - Castleberry

I would LOVE to see you and Chad talk about using air-8, RGS, himic 12, micro-greene etc. While doing a full renovation using glyphosate! I'm currently about to begin a multi-month process of burning down my lawn, germinating weed seeds and burning them down again until fall. While I'm in the midst of doing this, I would like to get the soil healthy with the n-ext biostimulants but wasn't sure how well they play with glyphosate
MicroGreene is the only thing you really shouldn’t mix together. GreeneEffect is a foliar application, so it shouldn’t be watered in right away, while everything else should.
This is Great Information because I watched LCN & Jake mix stuff in a hose sprayer and it clogged up on them. I would prefer to use stand alone products and not try to be an expert at mixing goo in a sprayer or that Ortho thing. Really, just put out one product and hit it again in a few days and not worry about 'Can I mix this stuff together?' I'm waiting to see if this stuff is Magic in a vegetable garden. Really glad you found the information helpful. To be clear, you can mix some products together. Just follow the labels for the products and packs and you should be good. I plan on making a video on the Tree and Shrub pack at some point in the near future, so stay tuned! Have to disagree on the mixing of Humic12 and Microgreen 0-0-2. That made a coffee ground mess in my hose end sprayer. Backpack sprayer with 2 gallon water first then concentrate may be ok?
The product info sheet that came packed with my Compaction Cure Combo says the following: "Application with Ortho or Chameleon Hose End Sprayer: Fill the cup with 12 oz. RGS and 18 oz. Air8 (stir/shake well)..." That is directly contradicted by this video (which says (at 17:13) NEVER to combine these two products). Why??
What we should have said was to not mix RGS, Air8 or Humic12 products with the fertilizer products. Those three products are ok to mix together in the cup of the hose end sprayers, just make sure not to mix more than two of them together. Glad you pointed that out and asked about it. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and asking. - Castleberry

16:42. “If you’re using a hose end sprayer you have to use each product separately.” I sure wish I’d watched this video before last weekend where I did a 3-6-6-6 mix starting with RGS in an Ortho hose end. Between shaking, pouring into a gallon jug, adding water, clearing the Ortho uptake tube, and cussing frequently it took about an hour. Can you speak about using NEXT products in a vegetable garden? Any benefit and how would it help and how to use. I am using most of the products on my yard here in Virginia . Weather is weird.
I bought NEXT products to use in my vegetable garden and have used kelp for a long time, there is a lot of benefits over using NPK. In my experience, a garden needs 2X the amount a lawn uses for crop production. I had the most interest in the MicroGreen, RGS and Humic, I get most of my fertility from compost and related organic matter. I'm also in Virginia and anticipate a trial experience with the NEXT products.
Any thoughts on the efficacy after being exposed to temps over 110 degrees? For instance, products left inside work trucks or trailers during summer months.
Great question! We will have to wait for summer time to roll around and do a test on that. Stay tuned! Thanks for the question and watching. - Castleberry
Great question. Sorry for the confusion. You can mix Air8 and RGS together. Just do not mix them together with the fertility products and don't mix more than two of the specialty products together. Thanks for asking and watching! - Castleberry
N-Ext DIY Lawn Not a big deal.. it’s all a learning experience! Just made for a slightly more messy clean up. 3 days since I put down all 4 of the biostim pack.. and I swear I am seeing a lot of new zoysia shoots popping up!
I have the bio- stim pack minus the 0-0-02 micro greene I replaced it with the 18-0-1 greene punch. Do I apply the 18-0-1 GP before or after bio-stim application?
Not yet! Working on that. But, safest thing to do, never mix any of the specialty prodcuts(RGS, Humic12, D-Thatch, Air8) with the fertility products(GreenePunch, GreeneStart, MicroGreene, FloraGreene, or GreeNe EfFect). And never mix GreeNe EfFect with anything!
Do you know when will you publish the video with the test results from the frozen products? Mine froze in my shed this winter in Utah and I am curious to know if they are still good to use this year?
Hoping to get those results back by the end of this week. We will most likely make a follow up video next week on this. Thanks for the suggestion and watching the video. - Castleberry
Has their been any discussion as far as printing a born on or bottling date on the packaging? Just wondering as far as rotational purposes of the product. I assume this is a non issue otherwise it would already have a date.
I have mixed all of the bio stimulant products together in a hose end sprayer, noticed it got VERY thick. Added some water to loosen, and sprayed it anyway. Any problem doing that to the soil? I didn't notice any, I only did that once, then I smartened up and sprayed them individually. Love the products! Very informative vijeo!
For sure do not want to mix all four products together at the same time for that very reason. It gets really thick. If you do want to mix them together, mix RGS and Air8, apply, rinse the cup, then mix Humic12 and 0-0-2 together, then apply. That is the best way with this package. Hope that helps. Glad you are enjoying the products and the video. Thanks for watching. - Castleberry
At 17:12 he says not to mix RGS, Humic 12, Air 8 and to keep them separate. Yet N-Ext's website says you CAN mix RGS and Humic 12 together and Air 8 and 0-0-2 together. So which is it? Can you or can't you mix them?
Another similar question, sorry if already mentioned but what else can I mix with 0 0 2 other than the 0 0 7? And also will all the humic acid raise my soil PH or help lower it? Thanks for all your content!
Glad it could help you figure it out. We will have a follow up on this video answering some more questions about the products. Thanks for watching! - Castleberry
The way to look at it is 3oz per 1,000 sqft. Then 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sqft. So to answer your question, 6oz of 2 products in 1 gallon of water. That will cover 1,000 square feet.
Castleberry. I see you can't mix the concentrates together. But, if I mix any of them in water first. That's ok? Looking to mix 7-0-0, Air8 and D-Thatch in my backpack sprayer? Thanks
As long as your sprayer is strong enough. If I need to apply everything at once, I will fill my 4 gallon Flowzone to the top and apply my 2,000 square feet worth of products. If possible, applying them in at least two applications will limit the possibility of clogging.
I have now watched this video twice.. I do understand that the "fert "can be mixed with the some of the "specialty" products in water ONLY, but should the "specialty" products be mixed together? Or should they be put down individually when using a backpack sprayer?
Great question and sorry for the confusion. There are instances where you can mix the specialty products together. Take the bio-stim pack for example. You can mix RGS and Air8 together, spray that out, then mix Humic12 and 0-0-2 MicroGreene together and spray that out. Just make sure to follow the spec sheets that come with every pack and you should be fine. Hope that helps. Planning on doing a follow up on this video soon. Stay tuned! - Castleberry
Great information and thanks for the reply. No my concern is in the Bio-Pack I purchased last fall it didnt come with the Microgreen, in place of the microgreen was a bottle of Dethatch. I did follow the spec sheet and applied at the rate recommended during that application. Now I will purchase the re-seed/seeding package that you recommended in an earlier reply. Thanks again for the information strong work with the videos.
close call.. I just ordered my bio stim pack and had planned on throwin em into my cup gun together and throwin it down. Looks like multiple passes for me now.
How about the other end of the spectrum? If Allyn keeps all of these products in his garage over the hot Florida summer what is the degradation potential? Thank you from Texas
Hey I just purchased both rgs and air8 I applied them both together @ 6oz per 1000sqft, (8k sqft to cover), with use of end hose sprayer at the rate of 3oz per gal of water to the lawn last night but it's raining today. I was planning to put down a post-emergent within the 24 hrs period as suggested. Should i still apply the post emergent now that its clear of rain or wait until a dry day which would be tomorrow?
Great question! Our Over-seeding/seeding package is best. That contains RGS, 9-0-1 GreeneStart and 18-0-1 GreenePunch. Check it out here... www.greenecountyfert.com/project/diy-seeding-and-over-seeding-package/
Now I have a question about this package you mention in your reply. The question is mainly about Green Punch..Everything I have watched and read warns DYI guys like myself about using Green Punch while recommending use in a pro application only. What should I be mindful when applying this product (Green Punch)?
I got the part that is 3onz per 1000 sf... But I have a 4 gallons backpack sprayer. Do I still use 3onz of each epecialty product on the full tank (4 gallons)?
Is there anything in the bio stim pack I shouldn't mix together? I usually mix 6 oz each of the bio stim pack into 8 oz of water and put that in my hose end sprayer tank and spray it on 2000 sq ft of lawn.
Great question. We recommend you mix the products in this order, RGS and Air8 at 3 oz. per 1k sq. ft., make that application, then mix together Humic12 and 0-0-2 MicroGreene at 3 oz. per 1k sq. ft. and make that application. You want to make these applications at the low rate, once a month during the growing season. Thanks for asking and watching. - Castleberry
N-Ext DIY Lawn so 3 oz/1,000 for all bio stim pack products? My order came with instructions saying 6oz/1,000 for the humic 12, micro green, and air8...with only the Rgs being 3oz/1,000. Would be nice if all are 3oz as that would save me $$$.
Hey Paul, I'm curious as to why the "specialty" products coagulate when mixed with the "fertility" products simply because of the pH difference? What chemically is going on to cause the undesirable results? What would be helpful for the consumer is to depict the pH level on the product in the label. It was mentioned that the pH is higher in the specialty products, so how much does it increase the pH in the soil? Enough for an app of lime? Thanks for the video.
That is an awesome question. We are planning on doing a follow up on this video to answer that and some other questions that it raised, which is awesome. Thanks for asking, dropping the comment and watching the video. Stay tuned for that follow up. - Castleberry
You are looking at an acid-base reaction to cause sublimation of a salt and water. Some of those salts maybe insoluble, which leads to the fouling of the flask and why it is so hard to clean out.
That is going to be you RGS, Air8, Humic12 and 0-0-2. So all four of them. Also note that the 7:1 dilution is the minimum amount of water that is needed. More water is better to get it to the soil. Great question. Thanks. - Castleberry
@@NExtDIYLawn Thanks pal! Bought the N-ext pack and a 2 gallon battery sprayer from Sprayers Plus. Just trying to figure out the math for my 4,000 sqft lawn. If my thinking is right, I can do up to 8 oz per K @ 7:1. 8 oz x 4= 32. 32x8(7:1 product/water) =256/2 gal = 128. Math is hard. 😆
So you bought the Bio-Stim pack correct? Math is hard...were you wanting to mix all 4 in the same tank? I would not do that. Mix RGS and Air8 first, apply that, then mi Humic12 and 0-0-2 and apply.
Appreciate that. We are going to do a follow up to this video, as it opened up more questions for folks! Which is exciting. Thanks for watching. - Castleberry
Castleberry, I have a question for you. When a herbicide claims to be rainproof in 4 hours, does that mean it can't be washed off, or that it's already worked it's magic and it doesn't matter if it rains.
That's an awesome question. Whatever time period it says on the label is how long it needs to be on the target plant for it to he effective. It it rains during that time frame, effectiveness might not be as high and you might have to reapply after the allotted time it states on the specific herbicide.
So the only real issue is when you mix some of the concentrates together but those same concentrates are ok together if tank mixed? Is that correct? I would like to tank mix micro green and green effect together, that’s ok?
Correct. The fertility products and soil stimulant products do not play well together in concentrate. Water first should be ok, just make sure to rinse tanks in between applications. Lots of folks are doing 0-0-2 MicroGreene and 7-0-0 GreeNe EfFect together in water without an issue. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. - Castleberry
Our products are not registered for sale in that state due to some local regulations. We are actively engaged in the label registration process and hope to have that resolved by the end of this year. - Castleberry
james pope you may have thickening in a hose end sprayer. I have not tried that though. I have mixed Air 8 and RGS at a high rate for the ‘compaction cure’ in a 4 gallon back pack sprayer with no problems at all. I put 1-2 gallons of water first then added Air8 and RGS with no thickening. I saw a definite reduction in compaction. I am using the compaction cure again this year. The weather in the northeast has been quite conducive to compaction. With the compaction cure, the most traveled and most compacted area of my yard was really lush, green and soft under foot. I believe in these products👍
The product info sheet that came packed with my Compaction Cure Combo says the following: "Application with Ortho or Chameleon Hose End Sprayer: Fill the cup with 12 oz. RGS and 18 oz. Air8 (stir/shake well)..." That is directly contradicted by this video. Why??
Pat I saw that on the label. Here’s why I think is ok to mix concentrated RGS and Air8 for the hose end sprayer. The fertilizer products 7-0-0, 9-0-1 etc mixed with the specialty Air8, RGS etc have differing Ph causing the ‘coffee ground clumping effect.’ I understand that Air 8 and RGS both have a higher Ph and are compatible in concentrate form. However I have not tried mixing these for the hose end sprayer. You’re right. It is on the label and I do trust the company. I had great results with the compaction cure. (I am not sponsored by the company) I bought these products because I believed in the products and they work in my experience. I do see that the video is a bit confusing here. Maybe Castleberry can clarify...
You can mix those two products together. You can actually mix the specialty products together. We can messed that part up. You don't want to mix the specialty with the fertility. With the specialty, you don't want to mix more than two of them at a time. That being said, just make sure to mix them up really well if you are using a hose end sprayer. Does that help? Great question and thanks for reaching out for clarification. - Castleberry
You are correct Joseph. Well said. We kind of messed that part up and will do a follow up to this video to clarify some things stated. Thanks for jumping in and helping out. It is really appreciated. Also, thanks for watching. - Castleberry
You can, but be cautious of what application tool you're using. If it's an Ortho, be sure to fill it up the rest of the way with water. If you're using a battery powered backpack sprayer, you should be fine. You can get some clogging even if you use a backpack sprayer or Ortho, but they will help.
@@NExtDIYLawn thank you I already sprayed my lawn I did it with the ortho an I did them separate also I used the whole gallon oh microgreen for 13,000 Sq because I only saw the blackout option as to spray
Fertility products and Soil Stimulant products do not play well together in concentrate. I have heard of folks mixing them together in water first and not having an issue. That being said, you have to spray it out immediately or they will fight with each other if you let them sit. On top of that, if you are not adding enough product to water for both, and you have more of one than the other, you are going to have issues. That is why I like sticking with doing just fert products or just soil stimulant products. Make sense? - Castleberry
@@NExtDIYLawn hello Kind gentlemen. As you can see I’m pretty late to the N-Ext party. However, I am glad I found this video on Christmas Day 2020. Anyway, are you saying it’s ok to mix the RGS,Air8 & Humic12 with enough water in a backpack sprayer?

I also just added 2-4D about 9 days ago. The lawn is 19,000 sqft. The soil is super dry and doesn’t retain any water even if we water all night the grass is yellow/green. We also don’t have a sprinkler system so that makes it challenging to water.

Question:
Castleberry, is it ok to mix Air8 and RGS concentrate for the hose end sprayer? Are they similar Ph? Thanks for the video!
Great question. Sorry for the confusion. You can mix Air8 and RGS together. Just do not mix them together with the fertility products and don't mix more than two of the specialty products together. Thanks for asking and watching! - Castleberry
Can you use these products with an EX-Flo system on an irrigation system?
Absolutely!
Learned the hard way this weekend...Humic12 and Microgreen no bueno....coffee grounds galore. Air8 and RGS seemed ok
That is a really bummer! Sorry you learned the hard way, but yeah, those two do not like each other.
Apply after the Bio-Stimulants. That way you water them in with the 18-0-1 GreenePunch app. - Castleberry
Thanks. Keep up the good work. I really appreciate the info and advice you give about the n-ext products
Only one question, why do you not call him "Heisenberg"
We are now! Thanks for watching. - Castleberry
is there a writtten quide on the website that can be printed out to have as a quick reference???
Not sure when we are going to have that one out, but we will try to address it soon! - Castleberry
So what your saying is if we use a hose end sprayer like you suggest in a few other videos, we can't mix the concentrates in that sprayer?
This was a great video, love it! Looking forward to the lab results
So are we! Glad you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for the follow up and keep on keeping on! - Castleberry
Interesting. Would love to see what the results from the lab are
Hoping to get those results back by the end of this week. We will most likely make a follow up video next week on this. Thanks for the suggestion and watching the video. - Castleberry
What is the shelf life for N-ext products when stored in a controlled temperature environment?
The bottles say that they store in normal warehouse conditions for two years.
Like Abigail said, under normal warehouse conditions, shelf life is two years. Great question. Thanks for asking and watching. - Castleberry
Has their been any discussion as far as printing a born on or bottling date on the packaging? Just wondering as far as rotational purposes of the product. I assume this is a non issue otherwise it would already have a date.
That is a good question as well. It really hasn't been an issue that we are aware of so no real need to do that.
Is it better to use a backpack sprayer or hose end sprayer to apply the bio stimulants?
At 17:12 he says not to mix RGS, Humic 12, Air 8 and to keep them separate. Yet N-Ext's website says you CAN mix RGS and Humic 12 together and Air 8 and 0-0-2 together. So which is it? Can you or can't you mix them?
Another similar question, sorry if already mentioned but what else can I mix with 0 0 2 other than the 0 0 7? And also will all the humic acid raise my soil PH or help lower it? Thanks for all your content!
That explains a lot. Wonding why i have sludge and pellets in my tank
Glad it could help you figure it out. We will have a follow up on this video answering some more questions about the products. Thanks for watching! - Castleberry
So it’s 3oz. of each bio-stim in 1 gal. making it 6oz of 2 products in 1 gallon?
Or do I add 1 gallon for each 3oz. of product when I mix?
The way to look at it is 3oz per 1,000 sqft. Then 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sqft. So to answer your question, 6oz of 2 products in 1 gallon of water. That will cover 1,000 square feet.
@@NExtDIYLawn thank you.
Castleberry. I see you can't mix the concentrates together. But, if I mix any of them in water first. That's ok? Looking to mix 7-0-0, Air8 and D-Thatch in my backpack sprayer? Thanks
In water first should be fine! I would do water, Air8, D-Thatch, add some more water, then add 7-0-0 and top off with water. - Castleberry
@@NExtDIYLawn thank you. Great content in the video!
just for some clarification, If i fill my backpack sprayer halfway up with water then can I mix the N-Ext Products together?
As long as your sprayer is strong enough. If I need to apply everything at once, I will fill my 4 gallon Flowzone to the top and apply my 2,000 square feet worth of products. If possible, applying them in at least two applications will limit the possibility of clogging.
@@NExtDIYLawn ok cool thanks 😊
You are most welcome. Happy to help in any way that I can. Follow those spec sheets and you will be set! Keep on keeping on!
close call..
We are working on this. Trying to simplify the message so we do not confuse folks more. Stay tuned. - Castleberry
What would be the ideal products to apply this spring after reseeding last fall?
Great question! Our Over-seeding/seeding package is best. That contains RGS, 9-0-1 GreeneStart and 18-0-1 GreenePunch. Check it out here...
www.greenecountyfert.com/project/diy-seeding-and-over-seeding-package/
Now I have a question about this package you mention in your reply. The question is mainly about Green Punch..Everything I have watched and read warns DYI guys like myself about using Green Punch while recommending use in a pro application only. What should I be mindful when applying this product (Green Punch)?
Follow up on efficacy?? Would be great! Thx.
Still working on that. We want to make sure we present it in a good way as to not create more confusion. - Castleberry
It's Friday night. Let's mix drinks instead! N-eXT on Sunday's. 😂
Haha I see what you did there!
I got the part that is 3onz per 1000 sf... But I have a 4 gallons backpack sprayer. Do I still use 3onz of each epecialty product on the full tank (4 gallons)?
Don’t mix 700 with anything? LCN and Jake are telling us to put 700 with micro green.
Loc Pho you are fine mixing any of the fert products (002,700..etc).
What were the lab results? Being i live in the northeast I'm very interested in those lab results
This was a great one man!
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it. - Castleberry
Of the 4 products in the Bio-stim Pack can you tell me which ones require a 7:1 dilution rate? I'd appreciate it, thanks PC!
@@NExtDIYLawn Nope, I plan on putting them down separately. Each one basically uses the entire 2 gal size of my sprayer anyways.
So… safe to mix with water… but don’t mix together with water?
Great video and really good info. Thanks!
Thank you very much. Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching and keep on keeping on! - Castleberry
We need a mix your own N-charge video.
On the chalk board! Thanks for watching. - Castleberry
Thank you chad the chemist. Great product.
Thank you very much for the support! - Castleberry
However, if you mix them with water, then you can mix them correct?
AWSOME videos and info
Thank you very much! Glad you are finding them helpful and enjoyable. - Castleberry
So are you okay to mix soil stimulant products (Humix, RGS, D-thatch and air-8)?
Great question and thanks for asking. Yes! You can mix any combination of those 4 products together.
@@NExtDIYLawn RGS Air-8 and D-thatch can be tank mixed together? the DIY instructions with them say "No Fly" on mixing together.
One of your best to date ... keep it up. Nice to spotlight the N-Ext folks!
@@NExtDIYLawn Awesome, thanks for the quick response.
So you can mix RGS AND AIR8 TOGETHER CORRECT ❓
Absolutely.
Thats a little confusing. So Green Effect cant be mixed with Green Punch or Microgreen?🤔
You can. It works best applying it alone, but you can mix. Here is a more detailed video. th-cam.com/video/iNjGBDY06SE/w-d-xo.html
It might have been better to tell us which ones work together I cant't remember which is which have a list
Good video!! No D-thatch 3-0-0 in the mixing?
Thank you very much. We will have a follow up on this video, as well as one about D-thatch. Stay tuned! - Castleberry
Great! Thanks very much for the reply
@@Mr1fingersalute you're welcome!
Very informative video. Thanks.
but can you mix rgs, humic12 and air8 together?
Yes you can.
so your saying don't mix nitrgen with humic?
How come I can't order the N-Ext products to be shipped to California?
Our products are not registered for sale in that state due to some local regulations. We are actively engaged in the label registration process and hope to have that resolved by the end of this year. - Castleberry
Make sure I understand, Your saying "don't mix the Air8 & RGS together in the same tank" ? always apply separate?
james pope you may have thickening in a hose end sprayer.
The fertilizer products 7-0-0, 9-0-1 etc mixed with the specialty Air8, RGS etc have differing Ph causing the ‘coffee ground clumping effect.’
I understand that Air 8 and RGS both have a higher Ph and are compatible in concentrate form. However I have not tried mixing these for the hose end sprayer.
You’re right. It is on the label and I do trust the company. I had great results with the compaction cure. (I am not sponsored by the company)
I bought these products because I believed in the products and they work in my experience.
Damn it would be awesome to be able to just pull up with a cart and load it up like that
It is a nice perk to have! Thanks for watching. - Castleberry
8:40 much appreciate the concern 👍
I bought rgs and microgreen 002 can I mix them together ??
You can, but be cautious of what application tool you're using. If it's an Ortho, be sure to fill it up the rest of the way with water. If you're using a battery powered backpack sprayer, you should be fine. You can get some clogging even if you use a backpack sprayer or Ortho, but they will help.
@@NExtDIYLawn thank you I already sprayed my lawn I did it with the ortho an I did them separate also I used the whole gallon oh microgreen for 13,000 Sq because I only saw the blackout option as to spray
can i mix RGS and Micro Greene together? thanks
What about RGS and micro green in a tank mix? I’m lost! Lol
Yo Paul! Is it ok to mix rgs, 002 and air8 in the same tank? Will maintain 7:1 dilution.
We recommend that you do a combined application of RGS and Air8, spray that out, then apply 0-0-2 MicroGreene after.
@@NExtDIYLawn I want to do a combined application of Air8, Dethatch, and RGS (during a hot summer day, then water it in the evening) and then after I want to do an application of GreenEffect 007 but how much after do I have to wait to apply the Green Effect?
I also just added 2-4D about 9 days ago. The lawn is 19,000 sqft. The soil is super dry and doesn’t retain any water even if we water all night the grass is yellow/green. We also don’t have a sprinkler system so that makes it challenging to water.
Great info. Especially on what NOT to mix. This will cause massive amount of questions and confusion...just watch lol.
Glad you found it helpful. We have had a lot of question roll through on this video, which is good because we know what needs to be answered. We are going to do a follow up on this for sure! Thanks for watching. - Castleberry
