Basically every Metallica song ever (still my favourite band though!) Thanks to Neural DSP for sponsoring this video. Check out the Mesa Boogie MkIIC+ Suite here: ndsp.co/Pete_Cottrell
I love that you had the 'Loading...' section! I know it's unpopular, and I get why most people don't feel the same way, but Load is probably my favorite record from them. It's between Justice and Load, with Ride behind it. After all this time, I also think Death Magnetic has creeped into 4th place for me, weirdly enough
@@dylancampbell8064 Fixxxer's probably my favorite track between those two records, and possibly my favorite song from them (it's gotta be either that or Creeping Death)
@@dylancampbell8064Definitely have some of their best lyrics (outlaw, bleeding me, etc...), but I feel like they also have a good handful of misses in there as well. The only one that immediately comes to mind is "ain't my bitch", which I usually cringe at that one personally. Maybe it's just that it's been a while since I last listened to those albums in their entirety and my memory is wrong. lol
the harmonized leads are the coolest part of any Metallica song they're in imo I am very happy 72 Seasons ends in what is basically a trilogy of guitar harmony songs!
Great video Pete ! First band coming to my mind for this serie would be In Flames. I would be very curious to hear your version of the acoustic parts they've done on jester race album.
Brilliant video as always dude and the mix sounds great (even though you hate doing it 😂). Sylosis would be a great video and tough haha. Keep it up dude!!
I don't know what you have done already but me personally I would love to see you do some PANTERA. It looks like you are completely capable of doing it. Thanks for the video
It's all awesome, but I'd narrow it all down to Harmonized Leads followed closely by Cleans So Clean. Something about the lofty and consistent momentum they carry.
Depends on the bands you listen to. And metallica peaked over 30 years ago and haven’t lived to the same quality as their 80s output. And the dude does more than just metallica

YO RELEASE THE PRESETS PLS!!!
The st anger bit definitely gave me a giggle 🤭. Great stuff Pete
The "Cleans so clean" and "Harmonized leads" sections were neat, goddamn
Iron Maiden, it’s a perfect fit for this new series.
I'd be down for them and SLAYER
I thoroughly enjoy watching you enjoy what you're playing. Keep rocking out, Pete! \m/
Thanks! :)
That harmonized leads section gave me serious goosebumps. I would love to hear that in an original song

Load and ReLoad are their best albums lyrically. I also love the bluesy/groove/hendrix feel from the albums. The opening to Fixxxer is my favorite.

1:50 That fucking frying pan caught me offguard XDDD
Everyone's favourite snare :)
@@peteplaysmusic For me it is, I actually like the snare
I'm still trying to decide if he made it even worse or if that's just purely accurate.
I thought that was coming from some other audio I had playing 😅
the harmonized leads are the coolest part of any Metallica song they're in imo

the harmonized leads should be a genre of their own.. kept alive forever.
Stellar playing sir. I think the other bands could be Gojira, Trivium, Russian Circles, Megadeth, Black Dahlia Murder, and/or Iron Maiden!
and Mastodon!
Mastodon and Gojira would be awesome
That clean section sounded so deadly man. Nice
megadeth - pentatonic runs and spider riffing, half time
pantera - ghost notes, pinch harmonics, and dives oh my (even moar scooped mids)
Nah, Marty is exactly opposite style of pentatonics runs
@@Roberto-nn6kbHe’s definitely talking about Dave though
Loved the video! For a band to do this with next, I'd suggest Haken and/or Gojira.
2:27 sounds like Testament's Into the Pit
I truly appreciate the "we have Metallica at home" vibes from every Metallica era
Hey pete, you're using my exact setup! I run an amaraok 6 through mesa boogie by neural as well XD
I basically need an 8 hour version of this to have on in the background during work!
Hi Pete!
Great video!
hahah that snare at 1:40 smartass haha and you gotta do PanterA next brother!!
Thanks for giving us a preview to Metallica's new album.
I would love to see James and Kirk react to this!
Holy shit, the St Anger section. X'D
I need an amarok, they sound sick. just need a metal equivalent on bass as a fiver

St. Anger management! 😂😂
A Queen video would be cool as they have a distinctive sound.
Clean Part Was Awesome
This was cool! You should do Gojira or Meshuggah if you haven’t already. 👍🏽
The snare!!! 🤣
I don't know what you have done already but me personally I would love to see you do some PANTERA. It looks like you are completely capable of doing it. Thanks for the video
Mesa Boogie preset?!? This is very tempting
This is so good 😀
I thought something fell down in my kitchen when the st. anger part started

Would appreciate basically any band in this series! AC/DC sounds like fun :)
If you haven't yet already, Meshuggah
Was that a Blackened remix at the start?
Sort of haha. I rearranged it into 4/4 time instead of 7/4 :)
@@peteplaysmusic still made me notice it haha ;)
Opeth next please - it will be interesting and challenging
Amazing
Those Harmonized Leads, can you send TABS for those?
Straight away pete at his best 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
Haha thanks! :)
Great "St Anger" joke🤣
These are all known cliche ingredients - but masterfully cooked. 😄Good video.
First Fragment ;-)
Awesome video, as always 👍
Bro, where ya been? Miss your content! Hope all is well!
My Mum passed away, I posted about it on my community tab/page but I’ll be back very soon. Appreciate ya and thanks for watching! :)
@@peteplaysmusic I’m so sorry brother, sending prayers for you and yours
Do Gojira next!
That was perfect! I’d like to see the same stuff about Megadeth, It would be great
Hi, nice Video.
Can someone give me some budget tips for metal amps especially for thrash?
Peace!
Death and Testament please!
CoB please
I really hope Metallica does a reaction video for this.
Flotsam and jetsam pleasa!!!!!!!!!
Make one for tesseract
bruh it is so accurate af
So what kind of bin lid did you use for the ST Anger snare tone?
Oscar The Grouch mark II ...or probably the OG lid bc you know they don't MESAround
Totally not going to steal that Loading riff…
In all seriousness though, great video
О.о
2:37
Isn't it In Flames
O.o
st anger snare drum!! :D
And it sounds awesome. End of list.
Please do AC/DC, RATM and QOTSA :)
I hope James and Kirk watch this because it’s a great nod to them.
Could you do Bullet For My Valentine next please?
How about Exodus please pete 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
this is better than anything metallica has put out in years
Gojira please!
Why wasn't it in E standard☹
P.S.: the songs you wrote were better than the ones on 72S and Load
Revocation
Next: KSE
Do System of a Down please
Clean could be cleaner
Haha yeah, those EMG’s in this guitar run very hot :)
This is a better Metallica album than Metallica has written
Slayer please ))
Opeth should be interesting....
other suggestions do come to mind, but they are predictable and probably proposed by others.
Megadeth GO! :D
Slayer.
It's obvious - Megadeth :D .... or.... Pantera ;)
Pantera songs be like...?
Cannibal Corpse songs be like...? :v xD
You missed one crucial nontechnical point, songs, they have great songs…
Bass? What Bass? 😅😅😅
Wah?
SOAD songs be like...?
Cleans more like Three Days Grace 😅
A7X be like...
KoRn!
Megadeth
Yeah, what's your point!? Youngsters like you trying to be clever when today's bands couldn't handle a tenth of what Metallica endured.. furthermore
Soo good , Kirk sucks 😂you're solo better
who care about bass
People who like their metal sounding good
milking metallica content is the worst content. unsubbed
YE-YEAH
🤘🏼🤘🏼
