I used thoose boots while leveling. The broken thing is that, it appears that yours gave a lot higher Decompose than mine. If ilvl is affecting the level of the skill granted by thoose boots, you should aim for high ilvl boots to get your Decompose even higher.
I'm using these with arsonists minions to explode the clouds, they explode a little too quick but I also take minions proc wither on hit and extra damage as chaos for minions
Also, as poison stacks are capped to just 1 (before you buff it) making poison last longer (for example with temp chains as you said in the video) does not necesarily increase poison dps. If you can sustain your max stacks of poison, you dont need more poison duration

the gas cloud is literally described as a poisonous gas cloud in the tooltip. i think it poisons enemies which is an ailment so swift affliction wouldnt work on it? non-ailment damage over time effects are things like contagion or essence drain. in any case do you have any other support gems in mind if we want to switch out of it? also awesome work really liked the concept.
Ok I was confused by some reddit research that said one thing or another but the answer is to take out swift affliction and put in chaos mastery or conc effect.
You can put blink on weapon set two and it will auto swap back and forth when you activate it and then activate another skill that's bound to just weapon set one
With an even number of skeletal brutes(highest hp minion) and skeletal clerics to respawn them, you can use them to generate corpses for bosses and the clerics ressurect other minions once per second, you can even full spec clerics with last grasp so they can keep respawning eachother
You can't make use of the corpse without taking sacrifice and the aoe of the dd is big enough that you 1 shot the minions the second they spawn. I don't know if I missed some interaction but I tested this multiple times.

Last grasp doesnt work with sacrifice. It only works if the minion dies from enemies. I also tried stacking chance to not consume corpse (up to 75% total) and still cannot sustain corpse walk with 2 brutes + 3 clerics. Also every times a minion dies, it reset the minion respawn timer.

Have y'all seen the crit DD blood mage vids? He uses aukuna's will (unique wand that gives 25% to not consume corpses) with corpse conservation support and the cluster on the passive tree that also gives % chance not to consume corpses. Doesn't even use clerics. You end up with like 90% chance not to consume corpses. This is the way for single target. Have a scepter+wand weapon swap, use the weapon set swap points to get the cluster and as much minion life as possible, swap one support (magnified probs) for corpse conservation before entering the boss.
So after some research I have no idea it says it boosts damage of non-ailment damage and chaos cloud does damage over time that I don't think is just poison. So it should work but not for the "poison" but the chaos degen cloud? At least that's how I understood it.

This is the very first unique i found at lvl 15 in my run. I immediately put them on and havent taken them off,currently lvl 75. This is the exact same build ive come up with and have been running it since,i was wondering when ppl were going to catch on to this. I built a pf minion life stacking build with sacrifice (minions count as corpses) using all the chance to not consume corpse sources (unique wand, support gem and tree) up to 75% making my minion uptime almost permanent so i can just keep walking while they explode behind me. This gives you an additional way to scale damage by investing into your minion life so you scale the base dmg of desecrate and later pf to double my poison stacks. Melts everything and is pretty cosy as all you have to do is walk
Tried it, feels good, but it's pretty lacking in some scenarios: Maps with a lower mob count, maps with less aggressive mobs or ones that tend not to follow you, maps where the average mob health is high. And above all: single-target focus. If you encounter an elite or magic monster with higher health alone, get ready-your single-target damage is laughable.
if you don't want to invest in blink, another option is shield charge. im running this as a tank bloodmage and shield charge lets me charge up to a pack, drop the poison cloud and follow it until it stops spreading, then shield charge to the next pack
I was able to make single target works by scaling a single Skeletal brute to 60k HP. I setup the Brute + Sacrifice on a 2nd weapon set for on demand nuke when I need. Otherwise clearing setup is also just Hexblast + Herald of Plague. I have a video clearing t16 boss if you wanna check out it out.
Okay so Temporal Chains does not increase the DPS you do with poisons innately. Why temporal chains is so good in poe 1 is because of how poisons stacks work. Temp chains increases the poisons duration which allows you stack more poisons on the target at the same time, which increases your poison DPS. Since poisons are limited in PoE 2, temp chains is not that great for poisons.
I like it for rares when I have no corpses nearby so the duration lasts long enough to kill it. That's literally it I guess I didn't word that correctly mb.
Fairly Certain Demon Form doesn't work with the Corpsewade boots, tried it myself and it wasn't popping the corpses. As well i had to reequip the boots to get corpsewade to function again.
Just for anyone wondering your poision is NOT the %of monsters health” you detonate. Poision is 20% (with no magnitude) OF the damage delt and for this instance let’s say you use lvl 1 decompose so that’s 30% of the corpses max life. So your poision is 20% of that 30% so your poision DAMAGE is only going to be 6% of the corpses life.
Does the corpsewalk effect trigger while rolling? Using your fourth ascendency to slot in demon form could get you a lot of free movement speed using the super fast swoop/roll provided by demon form.
To sustain single target, look check out Enezun's Charge, Meat recycling wheel on tree and Corpse conservation gem. Test it out with weapon swapping, which is what Im doing now. Running the aforementioned setup with DD though so this might be an interesting meld

I thought minion hp scaled way higher than 9k. People mentioned 28k on brutes and others up to 60k. Pathfinder might be equal or better for this just corpsewade no minion build. You can get a sacrifice wand that reduces corpse consumption. With tree I think 81% chance not to eat a corpse is doable but 75% is enough. Warning: I hear mobs like to explode your sacrifice minions.
I am doing doable boss damage with similar set-up on Bloodmage. I will check your set-up tomorrow and make improvements to mine. Basically what I do is I keep 1 minion on me with sacrifice. Not optimal, but that's how you can trigger this cloud on bosses, I also use skill effect duration for cloud to stay. Essence drain with chaos DoT gems and chaos builds up freeze does the job. Most of the boss fight you will be dodging attacks. I discovered this setup after respeccing into hexblast and hating the gameplay of it. Randomly out these boots on and I think Bloodmage is playable now!

I've just equipped these boots at level 11, and can't socket any supports into Decompose. I get the warning: This support can't be socketed into this skill. Mousing over Decompose, it now says "Requires level 22". So I wonder if the sockets will open up then.
I just remembered what you are missing and had to come back to tell you. Vine arrow looks like it would be amazing in this build as well. It would probably double your damage. Might even be enough to fix some of your single target issues.

Heeelll no if you wanna put the boots on just for fun go for it they should still be useful but this version is just a mapper you would need to go demon form hexblast or crit hexblast to do any real boss damage.
i wouldn't, just play minions for now and grind currency up, this is def going to get nerfed lol. And as he said it's only a mapping build not a bosser

I put them on and ran in to fight silverfist with just my hellhound, managed to kill him just by running circles around him because of the mobs that come in to help him. so there might possibly be some potential for an explosive build

Could also be lots of fun with the helmet that ignites people around you to autodetonate clouds. You don't really need it each cloud to poison everyone because you are spreading the dots anyway
Found these and didn't really pay attention to them just threw them on when I found some other chaos build I liked and figured they'd add on to the other dam I was doing. I haven't been able to take them off yet, I didn't even put supports in it but its so noticeable. My plan is this demon form infernalist hex blast thing I was someone else make and I kind of wonder if I just keep these on since they should continue to work even without investment they'd be ridiculous.
Fun fact, these are bugged with Witch/Infernalist Demonform because the demon flies instead of walking so "step" never triggers... lol Also, on contagion I run the gem that makes other chaos damage apply freeze, nice for bosses or higher HP rares. Contagions damage is kinda shit anyways so damage gems are w/e.

This looks like a pathfinder build honestly, doubling the number of poisons (meaning 6+ with the support and tree) and auto spreading sounds like perfect for this
Not at the range he's playing at (needing to walk over a dead corpse next to living enemies). I play pathfinder (poisonous conconction) and we have it hardest out of all classes to find defences. The playstyle is supposed to be offscreening things with a bow, so even pois conc is pushing it because it can only target things on screen and with a slow proj speed at that

Ci with hybrid Eva es with the chest and helm node on the tree and flask scaling with block and stun threshold. The def isn’t much of a problem cause they have so much innate damage you barely have to scale it and extra poisons is a huge multiplicative buff on pf.
@@gordon1882 I tried the boots, you do not need to walk on the corpse to proc it, it works at distance, it's not off screen, but it's like half a screen of distance I think. The reason why he walk so close to the mobs in the video, is that he's using hexblast which requires curses, and the setup he has is applying curses around himself with a pretty small radius... What I think is nice with pathfinder is that you get your main damage skill being the same as the boots proc (poison), so you don't need to try and use hexblast, you can use any poison skill and you still get the awesome spread and double damage from the ascendancy. This means that the build also works on bosses !
I just got these and they had level 18 decompose but how does the damage work on that someone that doesn’t meet the level requirement for the skill. I am level 12 but walking over corpses still activate it. I just can’t put support gems on it
Would these boots work just on thier own? Not to your levels of effectiveness obviously. I'm running the standard minion/srs infernalist and am finding alot of trouble with breach since too many mobs spawn and overwhelm me . Looking for a way to at least get a better clear speed with corpses on the floor, so i dont end up with just ONE breach drop.
They have for me. I'm following a different build but when I saw this I grabbed them and my AoE clear has gone through the roof. I'd actually say focus on ST because after the first kill the boots handle the AoE. I'm thinking of passing them to my Witch summoner who has terrible AoE and see if it would help her.

I just tried, the boots get bugged. Also, as the Demonform technically isnt stepping, as it flies above the ground, its not getting triggered. If you shift back, youll need to re-equip the boots, to work again.

You can also run fire mastery on the decompose, as it has the "fire" tag and add chaos mastery to hexblast for some extra dmg.

This should let you turn down the amount of spirit you need to optimize for and do something else.

swift affliction does not affect poison, only deadly poison does now. It says "non-ailment debufs"

There is "ignore corpse consumption" on the tree + there is wand for it so basicly can take it as offswap weapon + tree nodes

seems like this could be sick with plauge bearer, it could also help with bossing by letting you store poison damage off killing your own minions.

yeah it scales off corpse life. that's why you often build it with minions like skeleton priest.. and bank on it.

DD was so strong because of specters. Certain corpses had thousands of percent increased health, and desecrate got better with a bigger specters pool.

Hand of Cheyula is a good teleporting strike you can use in place of blink if you have spirit issues
p.s. That costs 40 dex, so would need to allocate some more int to dex, but yes, that is easier than getting more spirit

I put them on and ran in to fight silverfist with just my hellhound, managed to kill him just by running circles around him because of the mobs that come in to help him. so there might possibly be some potential for an explosive build

Not good this version is just for mapping so the campaign would be rough the boots alone would make leveling faster though.
Have you changed your ascendancy to Blood mage? Or did you try demon form? I am struggle with crit hit atm.

How Op would it be to run the original amethyst ring that turns all elemental dmg into chaos and everything has zero chaos resistance? Maybe t would be good enough to melt single target bosses.
Does decompose count as consuming corpse? I.e. can it use skeletal brutes if you have the spirit gem that lets you use minions as corpses?
mapping on this build is nice but that single target took me 10 minutes to kill a boss

Could also be lots of fun with the helmet that ignites people around you to autodetonate clouds. You don't really need it each cloud to poison everyone because you are spreading the dots anyway
Question: Why do the boots not work with Demonform?? I tried a similar build but the boots don't proc if I use demonform.
My guess is because you float in demonform, so you dont step and therefor not trigger decompose. I was sad to learn this.
jeez luiiz - how the heck can I kill a rare that has "Chaos Resistant" mod? Was killing such rare for 3 minutes in Tier 1 map...

Found these and didn't really pay attention to them just threw them on when I found some other chaos build I liked and figured they'd add on to the other dam I was doing. I haven't been able to take them off yet, I didn't even put supports in it but its so noticeable.
My plan is this demon form infernalist hex blast thing I was someone else make and I kind of wonder if I just keep these on since they should continue to work even without investment they'd be ridiculous.
How do you get those items to pop like that? I am colorblind and that shit pops hard enough for me to see it. I need that

Fun fact, these are bugged with Witch/Infernalist Demonform because the demon flies instead of walking so "step" never triggers... lol
Also, on contagion I run the gem that makes other chaos damage apply freeze, nice for bosses or higher HP rares. Contagions damage is kinda shit anyways so damage gems are w/e.
I don't see any bugs here , I think this intended.

They also don't work with the MTX from the early pass so that's 100% a bug because no MTX should affect gameplay
They dropped for me after watching this vid, gonna be far more fun leveling up the monk this way, the goal is to make a functional and fun flicker strike.

It requires corpses to generate the gas clouds, so yes if the boss has adds, no if they don't.

Boots are level 11 so you can just put them on and level with essence drain,contagion. Just keep in mind 0 corpses=no help on bosses.
I am running with those boot on all alts since I get them right until maps, so it can boost clear speed a lot
I'm using these with the RF helmet to just walk around auto exploding gas everywhere while leveling up a new character. Fun boots~

I have been leveling with this build its pretty fun, i am using plaguefinger gauze wraps though poison magnitude seems to work with it.
does swift affliction work? is this poison considered an ailment or no?
After some explanations swift is bad don't use it on decompose/hexblast.

This looks like a pathfinder build honestly, doubling the number of poisons (meaning 6+ with the support and tree) and auto spreading sounds like perfect for this
Not at the range he's playing at (needing to walk over a dead corpse next to living enemies). I play pathfinder (poisonous conconction) and we have it hardest out of all classes to find defences. The playstyle is supposed to be offscreening things with a bow, so even pois conc is pushing it because it can only target things on screen and with a slow proj speed at that
@@gordon1882def not just gotta be creative I’m playing this with pathfinder rn but with less mf. Ci with hybrid Eva es with the chest and helm node on the tree and flask scaling with block and stun threshold. The def isn’t much of a problem cause they have so much innate damage you barely have to scale it and extra poisons is a huge multiplicative buff on pf.
@@gordon1882 I tried the boots, you do not need to walk on the corpse to proc it, it works at distance, it's not off screen, but it's like half a screen of distance I think. The reason why he walk so close to the mobs in the video, is that he's using hexblast which requires curses, and the setup he has is applying curses around himself with a pretty small radius...
What I think is nice with pathfinder is that you get your main damage skill being the same as the boots proc (poison), so you don't need to try and use hexblast, you can use any poison skill and you still get the awesome spread and double damage from the ascendancy. This means that the build also works on bosses !

I just got these and they had level 18 decompose but how does the damage work on that someone that doesn’t meet the level requirement for the skill. I am level 12 but walking over corpses still activate it. I just can’t put support gems on it
Would these boots work just on thier own? Not to your levels of effectiveness obviously.
I'm running the standard minion/srs infernalist and am finding alot of trouble with breach since too many mobs spawn and overwhelm me .
Looking for a way to at least get a better clear speed with corpses on the floor, so i dont end up with just ONE breach drop.
They have for me. I'm following a different build but when I saw this I grabbed them and my AoE clear has gone through the roof. I'd actually say focus on ST because after the first kill the boots handle the AoE. I'm thinking of passing them to my Witch summoner who has terrible AoE and see if it would help her.
Yes, if you are running a fire minion build, these boots will add a lot of damage.
whats the ascendancy order?
I used thoose boots while leveling... but i just blew the clouds out. Never came to my mind when i saw that Contagoin worked with Poison mainly cause my boots gave lvl5 Decompose.
I feel someone screwed it up if the higher ilvl the boots they gave higher level Decompose.
Have you tried demon form? I recall it has pretty good mobility
I just tried, the boots get bugged. Also, as the Demonform technically isnt stepping, as it flies above the ground, its not getting triggered. If you shift back, youll need to re-equip the boots, to work again.

You would lose the levels to spells and your shield when in demon form, probably not worth.
