I think it's really hard to beat Hintonburg and Westboro for me! Lots to do, but not as overwhelming and dangerous as Rideau and Centretown. I hope I can eventually afford to move out of Nepean haha
I hear you! Hintonburg and Westboro are tough to beat-tons of charm without the chaos of Rideau and Centretown. But hey, Nepean’s not too shabby! Born and raised here, so I might be a little biased. Hope you find your dream spot... just don’t forget where the real OGs come from! 😉
I agree with this list with the exception of the Market. While years ago it may have been somewhat desirable, these days it has hit rock bottom and has become a cesspool. And it’s no place to raise a family. I don’t know anyone who would want to live there. I can get on board with Sandy Hill, Old Ottawa South or New Eddy, however.
I completely understand your thoughts on the Market. It really took a downturn during COVID, and it's not the same as it used to be-definitely not as family-friendly. Sandy Hill, Old Ottawa South, and New Edinburgh are solid alternatives with their own unique vibes. Appreciate you sharing your perspective!

I’ve lived in the Market for 15+ years. It’s become a hellish place to live and an embarrassment to Ottawa
