Hey Amigo. Yes I will fly into Kantishna out on the west end of the Denali National Park Road. Sometime early May. This is completely out of character for me to suggest Climbing Denali to someone I don’t know. Understand one thing first, and that’s the fact I see you doing very special projects one time and doing it with style. Then you move on to a different adventure 👍. I’m only asking you first to look at that Wickersham Harvard route because it is unique in many ways. It is the kind of route that requires commitment and level headedness more than expert alpine skills. You will see the team in the sixties from Harvard were from of a variety of backgrounds. I lived in Denali for 30 years and guided all over the Alaska Range. Denali is busy. This trip is different and located on the north side with less expeditions attempting from Wonder lake etc. you would have to know me and my background to understand why I am doing this trip but in short it’s about doing something different. Something in classic alpine style with no other teams. I have many climbing partners and people I know within the climbing community but no one has the interest in spending a month out doing something unique. They all go for the busy routes on the south side flying in from Talkeetna. I am Bicycle touring in South America until February then back to California where I will start getting ready. I actually am planning solo but putting out the message to you because I’ve seen enough to know at least you can find the fun in a shithole world right now. You remind me of myself a little. By the way, it was Mount Elbert out of Leadville that really got my attention. I climbed that with my Outward Bound Semester class many years ago. You can message me through the Facebook if you want. Darin Dunn. There are a few but mine is the one with the climbing photos or my biking photos. When you went by Denali/Healy on the train you were in my territory. I worked as a guide on the Nenana river for 13 years. 😊 Get in touch if you feel like talking more. Great work brother.
I’m also not a huge TH-camr as you can see I’m just adding things as I have fun moving along. 😊 Guiding a small bicycle tour in South America. Colombia, Bolivia
You are also welcome to come along on the 3 day approach from Wonder Lake. I can’t fly to the Peters glacier below the Wickersham wall as it is a no landing glacier. All of the ski planes from Talkeetna drop at the southern glaciers. Another reason this trip is so epic
@@dancer1 or if it fell into place and you were comfortable with going up the route with me I'm game. We would descend the standard west buttress with the circus of climbers on the south side. Then fly off the Kahiltna glacier back to Talkeetna
You really doing Denali in may?
