- This video shows how we repair damage mobile phones, This Sony Ericsson ST25i Xperia U was dropped off with us for a LCD repair service, we think the phone had been dropped but we was not sure. The customer told us that when the phone was switched on the phones screen was blank. So we stripped the phone and fitted a new LCD now the phone is working again...

yay! thanks for your help,it was the touchscreen that had smashed on the one i was fixing-didnt have a heat gun but all is working fine now.now to see what profit i can make on it-may have found myself a new side hustle! do you ever have to use your own glue at all?

Yes the phone should ring when you call it if the screen is damaged ( thats if the phone is not on silent and vibrate is on ). Other way to test if its working is plug it into the pc when you think its powered on and you should be able to detect if its connected. Otherwise you could have a water damaged phone of which maybe fixed and we do offer a repair service on our website.

Hello! My Touchscreen has cracked (it fell) and :
Since I'm removing the touchscreen and not putting it back but a replacment,will I need glue? I think my Q is pretty stupid but will I need glue or just put it back? Also,since I don't care about the cracked digitizer will I still need to heat it with something hot? (My mother has a professional hair dryer,so I think that would work)
Well : I live in Greece and sending my phone to you would be a total hassle...There would be money needed (for transportation) and stuff...It would cost me more than taking it to a repair center in Greece...
So please,I beg you! I only want you to tell me if adhesive double-sided tape is needed!

thank you very much for this video. i have one question... i have to replace only this part on the left, shown at 8:35. so, my question is: when i want to fit the new part to my xperia do i have to glue it somehow or will it hold by itself? i'm asking this because in your video you are putting the old one back and it seems to me that it holds fine without the use of glue.

like in the video, the lcd is damaged right? but there is still lights coming out..but my phone..the lcd is black, and no lights are coming out..but when i try to unlock the phone via pattern, i can feel the vibration, so i guess the lcd is damage? or is there anything else since there is no lights coming out at all..
Hi, I hope you can help me with my doubt.
My daughter's Xperia U has the same problem, the screen was blank when she tried to unlock it. 2 guys who repair phones told me it is the screen, but I am not convinced for 2 reasons:
1.- Shoudn't the phone ring when I call, if it's only the screen?
2.- I see in your video the translucent strip unde the screen does illuminate, it doesn't in mine.

hi there, i have followed the video as above, all was going well until i realized the part of the phone that holds the new chip for the digitalizer (the bit that is connected to the lcd screen) is slightly torn, its green and has little brown lines on it, when i put the phone back together it wont turn on at all, originally i only needed a digitalizer, im guessing now i need to replace the lcd? any info much appreciated

ok well the computer recognizes the phone and the button light up at the bottom. its just no display the casing is also slightly bent. so is it worth repairing? the LCD + touchscreen? shall i get new casing?

Ok thats fine, well it depends if you reuse the old tape but if you rip it then you will need some. But be warned its not an easy repair and you can break the LCD if not careful.

Can you heat the screen by using a girls blowdryer? Or do you have to use some industrial device?

hello sir, recently my xperia u has fell down in water and i air dried n kept it in moister free box with silica bags and now when i switch on my phone its display is functioning i can see desktop n icons as usual , but the problem is screen dosn't last longer more then a second or 2 seconds then gave it in sony repair center he said i have to change LCD which worth 50 US $ .... what do u think the problem is ? please help me thank you sir - preetham

If the LCD screen is cracked but still shows image but the touch screen digitizer doesn't function (also cracked), would replacing the digitizer fix the non functioning touch screen

Hi! I changed my broken (glass) Touch Screen Digitizer, but it does not work, what it could be ? Before change, it was broken, but working, now when i changed it, it doesnt work. LCD working fine, loading screen, animations, everything OK but touch not working now. I ordered it from ebay, maybe i didnt connected it well or bought damaged item ? Pls help !

We do not advise doing the work yourself unless you are 100% sure you can do it. Its not an easy job!!!!. You need to get it very hot to remove the touch screen but we have had lots of people cracking the LCD when taking the lens out. We can do the work for you via our website if that helps.
