This just makes me think that in order to create a more healthier meta, they need to shuffle around some of the limit 3s on older cards and just give us one really powerful backrow as a limit 3 while putting Star Restart or Imaginary Reactor to limit 3. That and like what was suggested in the Metarion video, remove TCB from the deck. Thanks for the coverage as always!
Ah, new Meta update. Although, realistically, it's like seeing how things have adapted now that the Hype for certain Decks has ended. - Metarion took Deltarune's Jevil's line literally: "I CAN DO ANYTHING!!". I say this because Metarion has shown to be quite versatile when it comes to using Skills and Builds in Rush's Duel Links. Which is curious since, in the real Rush Duels format, Metarion was a fairly linear Deck: it didn't have the versatility or consistency that it has in Duel Links. However, it was still one of those Decks that could stand up to Dragoncaster Deck and its powerful Trap Cards. I think it was the right thing to do not receive more modern support for Metarion: Imaginary Leading Actor would be too much for a Deck that was overshadowed by Rush's Cyber Dragon at the time, but was always powerful. - Speaking of Decks that were overshadowed by Rush's Cyber Dragon, LIGHT Galaxy was always that Deck that had the potential to be the best, but only the Japanese fanbase realized it. The Western fanbase focused more on Rush's Cyber Dragon and Rush's HERO. Realistically, out of all these top Decks, LIGHT Galaxy feels the most fair to play since it doesn't do things like OTK or put pressure on your opponent: it's just an Unga Bunga Deck. Ironically, LIGHT Galaxy is incomplete so it can still improve in the future: especially when it gets Fusion Summon. - Moving on to Rush's Cyber Dragon A.K.A Cyber Fraud, you can say that it's the Deck that people had a lot of hype about, but time has shown that it's not a powerful Deck. The Deck is popular, well-liked, and cheap, but it's not the strongest deck in the current Meta. In fact, Rush's Cyber Dragon's Brick issues work against it on many occasions. Despite this and the evidence from Tournaments, people will still say that Rush's Cyber Dragon is the strongest Deck in the current format, surpassing LIGHT Galaxy and being on par with Metarion. - Chadragias was proven again why that Dragon humiliated Sevens Road Magician in the Anime. Interestingly, I feel that the Skill makes the Deck functional as Dragon Fusion Deck was never a viable option until support came along that helped the Deck speed up the Fusion Summon process. Sevens Road, on the other hand, only needed to get several Monsters that could set up GY as well as a custom Fusion Spell Card to become an oppressive Meta Deck in the actual Rush Duels format (however, that Deck's strength came from its Fusion Monsters) - Both Gakuto's Deck and Rush's HERO Deck just need better support to scale up a bit. Of the two, Gakuto's Deck has the potential to improve even more if it only gets its modern support that helps with consistency and being able to Fusion Summon with ease. The surprise here is seeing Wyrm Deck rise. I've always said that Wyrm Deck just needs its pieces that it got in Early Rush Duels to be a better Deck (and if they want to improve it even more, bring in its Maximum-focused modern support) - IT'S PSYCHICOVER!, as well as IT'S YGGDRAGOVER!. Psychic simply has very weak Monsters that can't keep up or deal with the new threats (a problem Psychic always had: its Boss Monsters are either very weak or don't have impressive Effects). Only Fusion Summon or modern support centered around Romin could help the Deck scale. On the other hand, the fall of Yggdrago means the slow disappearance of Maximum in Rush's Duel Links until further notice in the future (I guess this is a good thing for everyone). - Now the question arises: How could they weaken Metarion and LIGHT Galaxy without killing them? I would also add Rush's Cyber Dragon just to please the people who complain about the Deck on the Ladder. Weakening Metarion and LIGHT Galaxy is tricky since they are two Decks that rely on Normal Monsters as their main combo or core. Sure, they could reduce Metarion's OTK power, but it would still do the same thing as before. The only solution for Metarion would be to limit the Fusion Materials. Rush's Cyber Dragon only needs a 3-limit on Cyber Twin Dragon to reduce its power. LIGHT Galaxy? I have no idea what they could do to weaken that Deck, which as I said, is the most fair Deck in the format.
Great stuff! Other than tournaments, i think Sevens Magician is tier 3-4 in the ladder, can be as explosive like Dragias to be fair, agreed on everything else 💪
I really called it right that they will limit3 a newly released Gavin card because they always does that for Gavin at least this time it's acceptable since it's a strong it will probably Higher tier if it's not Limited I hope we get pyro support soon🤔
not really. the only decks that hold onto their hands are Maximums, which have 0 high tier representation right now. Poseigyon Advencharger would probably be the best Thunder they could get that would actually help them. That or The Creator given all of the statline restrictions most decks have (tho that would just be more support for Metarion too)
something something trap card. something bad format. anyway. i don't see them making any hits to decks out right now, so i have to wonder when we are going to hit a wall with this games powercreep. like Re:D Shine was already a huge jump in power and this was an even bigger jump than that.
It's funny that you mention Powercreep in Rush's Duel Links when Dragoncaster in the actual Rush Duels format was the real Powercreep. Dragoncaster Deck ended up being superior to Maximum and Fusion for almost 1 and a half years. This is because Maximum had mechanical issues and Fusion wasn't that consistent/flexible to use. In fact, Fusion Summon had no impact when it first came to Rush Duels (except for certain Decks) In Rush's Duel Links, we already got a Powercreep boost with the existence of Rush's Cyber Dragon: a Deck that shouldn't have appeared so early in Rush's Duel Links, but here it is (but, as it turned out, it didn't end up being the most powerful Deck in the Meta) The only way to balance things out a bit is the arrival of more Fusion Monsters for various Decks and some Trap Cards. But, I say this because there are Decks that don't need Fusion to be dominant (example: Excutie)
@@brunosanto3488 You don't understand that Dragoncaster at that time could be countered due to the disadvantages of Trap Cards and the existence of backrow removals, and almost any kinds of decks at that time could defeat it. The only thing making that deck become really good at that time was because of its consistency, and that was all it had. Moreover, Dragoncaster was only really good in 2020, and at that time, Rush Duel didn't have many cards in their cardpool. Also, in 2020, COVID-19 just happened, which delayed almost any progresses of making new products and any marketing strategies of Rush Duel for at least 4 months. In 2021, we had so many decks that could counter it including Innovator. You could check the statistics of meta decks in Dec 2021 to know if it's true. About Maximum, do you know that there was a deck called Double Maximum, which was actually Excavator mixing with Cyberse Maximum? Yea, it was bad at first, but later, it wasn't. About Fusion, do you know that Metarion used to be a meta deck when it was first released in 2021? So the existence of that deck is enough for you to conclude that Fusion had no impacts for Rush Duel when it was first released lol. In conclusion, I don't think you understand Rush Duel in 2020-2021, and Rush Duel isn't a format, IT'S A GAME. At that time, its gameplay wasn't just about beatdown. You not only have backrow removals for dealing against annoying Trap Cards, but also have some other cards like Widening Whisper to counter Trap Cards like Dark Revelation, or even monsters like Innovator by catching your opponent off guard.
The thing is Rush Duel Links right now is actually powercreeped a lot due to nostalgia. The developer has imported so many cards to Rush Duel Links sooner than what we could think of. Let's take Cyber Dragon as an example. Before Go Rush, almost any decks in Rush Duel could be countered really well. Any decks at that time had their own weaknesses once you learned it. However, when Go Rush came to Rush Duel Links, somehow Konami didn't realize that if they imported cards like Cyber Twin, Golem, etc., it could break the balance of Rush Duel Links's metagame. Now the whole duel is actually one-sided, and most of the time, it won't take more than 10 turns for a game to end.
This just makes me think that in order to create a more healthier meta, they need to shuffle around some of the limit 3s on older cards and just give us one really powerful backrow as a limit 3 while putting Star Restart or Imaginary Reactor to limit 3.
