    I remember buying my first pack of baseball cards when I was 8 years old, 1990 topps and getting my favorite teams big new rookie card, Todd Zeile who is still my favorite player. Over the next couple years I started collecting baseball cards, trying to get Cardinals, and also collecting Zeile's. I didn't have a dad, but I had an awesome uncle who had collected as a kid and he started collecting with me, and it helped us bond. He taught me how to play and I actually kicked ass in little league, as part of a championship team in my town. He got me a 1989 upper deck Todd Zeile autograph rookie in 1991 for christmas, and put it in a HUGE box filled with styrofoam peanuts and the card.
    Childhood trauma and events of life caused a rift between my family and I, and a few decades later I have managed to reconnect with my uncle, and we have rekindled our love of baseball cards literally by opening these types of cards. I actually am hoping the box of this specific product I ordered last sunday shows up today so we can open it together. I bought him a Stan Musial for his vintage collection for christmas. Baseball cards take a backseat to chess for us, but it's a close 2nd! It's nice to have products like this to bond over again and remember all the memories he helped me get when I had a troubled childhood. New subscriber, been watching for a couple months, love your vintage stuff! It has even gotten my wife more interested in baseball and on movie nights shes interested in stuff like 42, For the love of the game, The Rookie, hell even Major League :'D

    I used to ride my bike to a store called the "Village Pantry" (prob 1985-86) when I was 8 years old and buy packs of cards for .50! I would then buy candy and ride my bike back home and open the cards! In 1985, the Clemens , Puckett and Gooden were the hot ones. Been hooked ever since!!

    A collecting cards memory moment for me goes back to 1980 when I was nine years old. I was in the hospital for three days with food poisoning, bad potato salad. Still can't eat it!! Lol. My mother brought me a few packs of '80 baseball cards to help pass the time, loved it. I still have those cards to this day. Didn't get the Henderson though. Keep up the great work brother.

      @JohnJohn-gs8md 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with John Mancini 84T is the Strawbwerry rookie card. The traded and update cards were always considered xrc as you could not get those in packs but only in set form in the 80's, that started to change in 1990 as topps started to make wax packs for the traded set. Even though the traded and updated cards from that era are worth more due to lesser quantities made and harder to obtain at the time because they were sold primarily to hobby stores. I could care less what PSA says, this is just what collectors considered as rookie cards. By the way nice opening.
