I am going to be 70 years old in three months. I can not thank you two enough, I have learned so much about metal fabrication from your vids. Thank you for being you!
It seems that Chad is the opposite of a wizard. He demystifies what metal fabrication is all about. He makes me feel confident that we too could build something beautiful, by showing us it isn't magic. He shares his experience with such generosity. Watching him you know it isn't ego that drives him. Instead he's a 'maker' who so much enjoys his making that he wants others to experience that joy. In Jolene he's found a kindred spirit. What they're doing here really is a wonderful partnership. The sum is greater than the parts!
Working on a 1964 Ford Econoline van w/ a crappy Amazon Welder that does NOT use gas and Lincoln Welder said It WOULD weld light body metal. Lol All It did was make MORE holes for me to deal with. Tried welding a panel In the rear where a roof vent was Installed and warped the heck out of It. So I used your technique of cutting relief cots to work It. Ta Dah It worked. Noe Im going to lay fiberglass matting on the Inside and fill from the outside cause my welder stinks. Thanx for Tip. PS People beware of what Lincoln welder customer service tells you. You Da Man Chad
While there is no doubt that some people have a different way of doing things, there is also no doubt that Chad can get it done and get it done right! Being open to input and respectful critiques means no matter how much you know, there is aways something to learn if you want to. Thanks for taking us around at the show and even more for inspiring me to get my own project going and not be afraid of metal fabrication.
I'm sure you have alot more experience with a srinker stretcher then most other I'm sure you could probably do 3 sets of fenders in the time it would take to do one fender and I'm sure it wouldn't be as nice or as straight as the one that was done with a srinker. Keep doing things r The way you do them Chad it made better sense to me. The truck is coming out great. Is you welder a lincolin 180 that's what I have I would love to get a lincoln plasma cutter like yours but for the little bit I would use it I can't justify the cost they a bit pricey. Your friend from Louisiana Rick 427
Will be a totally unique one of kind pickup truck with great styling. Please allow this fabrication to be simple and practical with no lowering with reliable engine and drive train. The 1935 Plymouth is a favorite of mine since 1965 whena high school had a '35 primer grey coupe with a '55 Dodge hemi engine. Not that fast but an affordable reliable stylish daily driver for a high school student in the 60's.
Hello bad Chad, I think you do a fantastic job. I don't think anybody can say anything bad about what you're doing because you are truly an artist! I see your creative artist more than I see you as a mechanic or a body man. I can tell you know what you're doing obviously the creative artist that works with what he's got while he's got it and the creative decision could be right at that moment! Love it. Thank you for sharing your craft with everyone! Trucks looking good
We know what a creative mind Chad has, we also know he can turn a turd into a diamond. From listening to him narrate and listening to his talks about perspective and then when he is interviewed like at autorama, he is a very kind and thoughtful man. He’s humble, he’s respectful of others, he can look past criticism whether valid or not. He adores his Queen, he is living the dream too. How many of us enjoy each day like they do?? Be honest… There is so much more than car building here.
I like the fact that you explain how and why you do your artristy but never insist that it’s the only way to do it,so informative and always entertaining, plus if you’ve done anything like this you know how much work is involved! Excellent job guys!
Chad, you and Jolene have the biggest and greatest class room for those that want to learn and you are doing a great job teaching thank you for sharing 👍
Nice lines. Looks organic. Like it grew there. Now, for perhaps a different project, what if you took the rear lines of the 35 and apply them to a pu truck box. Mt original concept started with a 81 short box Dodge, and involved sculpting the wheel arches back, to the shape of a 1980 911, and then I got looking at older coupes with their swoop rears. Has to be a usuable box.
Nice to see your back home safely Chad and jolene and your both got right back at the truck. I think it's a great way to get the wheel arches done they are way stronger than the original ones and should look awesome when they are fitted. I bet fina really missed you both while you was in Houston. I've got a feeling she would have got so excited when she saw you when you got back. Keep up the great work the both of you 👍 👏
New watcher but have watched a number of older videos and i absolutely love what your doing always leaving me wanting to find more your videos are a true rabbit hole of badass, perspective and respect
Awesome build love the work you all are doing, learning a lot as you are and it's keeping me motivated to work own my projects, Thx and keep having fun.
Man I love the real world fabrication that all customers go through and you show it live instead of cut parts of doing it. Education for the youth to get into this to keep building something out of there own mind instead of store bought. Keep it up bro!
If you really pay attention to how many times Chad kneels down and stands up, it's no wonder he's in such good shape. I was always. I thank the both of you for your hard work.
Nice to see you listening to viewer's suggestions (as in those stake pockets) ...... shows humility, willing to accept practical ideas from others (likely oldsters, bodymen) to do the job just another way. Commendable.
Did a similar thing on my 40 Ford P/U and '37 Plymouth, and added a piece of round rod and 1-inch flat iron to the back of the wheel well opening, to keep the shape of the back lip of the fender. Worked well for me. Had to remove the spare tire invert on the right rear fender, and ended up building a power plenishing hammer to make it contour to the opposite left fender. All in a day's work. Good luck to you Chad.
Looking good Chad!..The only suggestion I would offer is that you slightly round the top rear of the doors and cab. That sharp corner gap draws my eyes to it in a bad way.
I agree. Wood would look good. Kinda' like the car-hauler, but maybe with metal strips in between like they usually had back then. Nicely stained. However, Chad said a few shows back, that his intention is to make the box floor from sheet metal. It's his project, so I'm sure it will be good.
@@oldredchevy-hh6de I agree, I love seeing everything he does. Wood is an option, but seeing him make a metal bed would be great too. It's all good, I learn something every day.

You Da Man Chad
You need a gas welder period. I had the same trouble as you, invested in a good quality gas welder. Now an expert welder😊
I like your straight forward no B.S approach to building something out of something else, amazing talent!!
Always nice to see Chads work. Using items that he has at hand.
Love the fabrication! Exactly how I do mine!

More work on the box. This is fun to watch and to learn how it is done Chad. Jolene continues to amaze with her videos.
Home from the show with a million ideas going on in that superb brain

This has to be one of your best builds, Chad. All custom but looks like something factory made. Loving it!

I agree with him working on the floor ... it keeps you fit . Look at some other builders working on benches etc . They're not as fit ☝👍👍
Wheels arched look a good shape for the truck nice work 🎥🎥🎥👍👍👍👍🇬🇧Manchester uk 🇬🇧
Very nice job , Chad .
Love ya work. Thank you from Oz.

Hey Chad! Thanks for the great content. Just enjoy fabrication. Keep it up. Stay safe!!😀😀❤️
That is a nice truck you're building
Looking good Chad!..The only suggestion I would offer is that you slightly round the top rear of the doors and cab. That sharp corner gap draws my eyes to it in a bad way.
Chad said in a previous video, that he intends to do that, when he gets around to it.
Great job as always 👏
Will there be a wooden floor in the box?
I agree. Wood would look good. Kinda' like the car-hauler, but maybe with metal strips in between like they usually had back then. Nicely stained. However, Chad said a few shows back, that his intention is to make the box floor from sheet metal. It's his project, so I'm sure it will be good.
