- Yes, there really are apps that will pay you to walk and track your steps, but no, they're not going to pay you hundreds of dollars a day like some thumbnails suggest.
The truth is you just logging steps on the treadmill or around your neighborhood is good for your health - but isn't worth anything to anyone else.
The way ALL these walking apps work is to capture your attention and try to monetize it with advertising and affiliate partnerships.

Do you have to file taxes on any profits one might earn on any of these walking apps when tax season comes around in April?
If the app is based in the US and pays you more than $600 in a year, they’ll likely send you a 1099. But the odds of earning that much from a single app is nearly impossible. Taxes are my last concern here.

What does the app do?
These apps say they’ll pay you to walk / track your steps. In reality, your walking isn’t really worth anything to anyone aside from its own health benefits, so what they’re really paying you to do is watch ads or claim offers from their affiliate partners.

You're definitely doing something wrong, I earn way way more from all the apps i use than just a few cents a day. I also walk 20k+ steps a day due to my job so, mileage may vary between people but if you want actual value you have to be somewhat active. Between all of the apps i have i get about a dollar a day, and I've already redeemed over a hundred in cards and transfers so it all depends on that whether or not you want to walk that much and watch all those ads. I admit, the ads are really annoying but its a necessary evil if you want to make the best use of these apps.

So I live on Armenia and in Armenia 500 dollars worths some good moneyI can pay bills and pay for food 😂 I'm currently unemployed (just finished school want to focus on uni ) I will test it and update you 🙂
It might take years of walking to earn $500 is all.
Why is it too much to ask for $1.00 a mile at least? Walking 5-10 miles/day is hard work for pennies on the dollar! BS!!!
Sure, $1/mile would be nice, but gotta keep in mind your walking has no inherent benefit to any company, so not sure how they’d pay for that.
@NickLoper Maybe if the video ads started paying them more for the users to watch? I understand, but advertisers pay big bucks to apps these days. Wishful thinking, that's where I was coming from. Five or Ten cents a mile seems like it's not even worth it.

@@NickLoperYou are right. Even with surveys it is hard to get money. You don’t qualified for the surveys or they pay you cents for answering a bunch of questions. It is a waste of time.
