Sergei Vladimir can be considered as the progenitor of the Tyrant series, as they are literally clones of him. In fact, he himself describes the Tyrants as "his brothers." And has 2 of them as bodyguards.
No actually. The Tyrants are not clones of him. He had clones, but they were made by the Soviet Union back when he was a soldier for them. He reluctantly allowed Umbrella to experiment on the clones, which he considered his family, to improve T leading to advances in the Tyrant Project, which is why he considers the Tyrants his brothers. Most Tyrants throughout the series after 1 are T-103s which were mass produced, mainly on Sheena Island, after modifying cloned embryos of the T-002 from 1 (with the T-001, T-002, and (possibly) the T-011 being the only Tyrants encountered that were ever humans). The two bodyguards of Sergei are Ivans which were technologically enhanced variants of the T-103 model.
Capcom seriously needs to make a game based off of Umbrella's end. Sergei has so much endless potential. It's a shame he's only seen in Umbrella Chronicles!!
I once promised myself I'd one day write a whole fan universe (and then a whole universe of my own). I couldn't decide if I would start with either Marvel or DC. I've chosen neither (not yet at least). I'm gonna start with remaking the whole "Resident Evil" universe. Then, I'm gonna create a whole Marvel universe. And then, a DC.

All that was ever made up about the guy in the helicopter was that he was an Umbrella Executive. If the game had included all the scenarios from the original script the Umbrella Executive would've had more of a role alongside Sergei who was trying to kill Leon at one point during the Raccoon City Incident.
Sergei is all about pain so making him tyrant with spiky tentacles make sense. Also his mutation looks very unique not like just some dude with claws (super tyrant from RE2 remake).
