I like this idea. I just bought a used trailer to build one like this, the plan is to have an enclosed sleigh so my wife an two kids fit in, itll be heated as well.
Really appreciate the tips in this video, gave me a head start

Cool design. That axle needs co compress the spring in an arc so your vertical tube isnt allowing for spring compression. If you want to keep the axle square use a track bar.

Awesome sleigh man. Wicked video. Was thinking of building one and didn't know how to go about it. Wicked thanks man!

It's been a year already since I commented ! Time flies, Do you still have the sleigh and if so would you make any changes if you had to do it again ? Thanks again from ottawa, Ontario

Swap the tubes out with a set of Chinese atv coil overs and your binding problem would be solved and they don't have much pressure in them so you would be able to keep your suspension travel. Plus they're cheap

The reason why you don't have any suspension travel is because you have it all welded up and the springs have to swing back on the shackles so the suspension can compress.

Yes I agree.. the shackle needs to lean towards the rear.. the spring gets longer as it compresses.

There’s no way for the design he’s built for the suspension to work properly. The shackles for the springs should have a few degrees of rear travel past the 90deg from the frame even empty to ensure the springs can compress. The vertical slip tube he’s designed isn’t allowing the springs to even mildly function, then the welded rebar under the trailer to the spindle assembly won’t allow the springs to compress either.
Definitely needs to just go back and put a shortened axle back under the trailer and get rid of the rebar and tube supports.
