I think this song is about loving someone but not really knowing what their life is like, or not knowing a big part of them, so instead of making them feel bad for who they are it’s better to just let them go even though you love them. At least that’s what I’ve alway taken from it, and even though I’ve loved and listened to this song since it came out, this is the first time I’ve seen the video, and it seems to follow what I thought.

These guys came from just down the road a ways from where I grew up. It was neat to witness their local ascension to fame. I recommend their songs "Kryptonite" and "Here Without You".

@BillyYSC- forgive me if I'm wrong here, I believe you missed the point of the video or the message in the video. The message in the videos that they were dating and apparently he thought he knew this girl he was dating but then he comes to find out that she's a strip dancer so the next day at school, not only does he tell the kids at school she's trash but ofcourse he won't acknowledge her, as he doesnt want to be affliated with her because she's a stripper. Now as you see on the following night he went to the diner but he couldn't help but realize that he still so in love with her and he couldn't understand why she was dancing at the club, So later on a that night, he goes back to the club n follow her home....after which be began to piece everything together n why she was a strip dancer.....which is because she was a single mom and that's the secret she was keeping from him, not just the dancing, but the baby too which I don't know if it's his but her putting a picture of the two of them in the baby's crib leads me to think that maybe that's a possibility.......or it could be somebody else's but as you can see she's paying the old woman who was watching her baby for her. So when you think about it in today's day and age, a lot of people do things that they wouldn't normally want to do but they do it because they HAVE to. In this case, she had no choice but to be a stripper in order to provide for her and her baby but she didn't want to lose the boyfriend so she kept everything a secret. Please when you have a minute rewatch the video and keep in mind everything I said and see if that doesn't make sense to you then
