Hammond is a mega talent. He doesn't come to mind as quickly as some other SNL legends, but he's consistently hilarious. His Clinton is one of my faves.
Ugh he certainly comes to my mind. I’d argue he is top 5 performers. After Belushi Chase Eddie and Phil. For sure one the most prolific cast members ever.
So glad to hear Mr Hammond. This is why I'm here. I want to hear from the folks I thought were the funniest. Comedy fans expect Adam, and Dennis (macca is a nice surprise) It sucks Norm can't be a part of this. But I peeked and saw Ellen and Tim are on and that's why I'm here. Thanks for keeping us laughing for all these years, some of them have been pretty weird.
The bit when they're doing the mobsters at 25:35 is great! The two SNL cast members I'd like to hear interviewed (who haven't been on yet) are Tarran Killam and Chris Parnell.
When Eddie Murphy was on Comedians in Cars getting Coffee he did three impressions that made me laugh. He did Michael Jackson, Sammy Davis Jr, and Tracy Morgan. All three was hilarious.
Hammond was definitely my favorite from the late 90's cast. Of course his impressions were great. No offense to Carvey, whose Regis is legendary, but Hammond's Regis is scary spot on. His Cheney and Gore were perfect. Even when his impressions might not be exact, he has the mannerisms down, like his Bill O'Reilly. His other non-impression characters, though they were few, were also always funny.
What a great guy. His Clinton is hilarious. And Sean Connery? Forget about it! It's not an impression, it's the real Connery, when you watch those sketches. And the Al Gore impression? "The lock box"... Man! I listened to this in one go. And, although I'm not a comedian, I just love to hear you shooting the S*t about doing impressions and the technical and behind the scenes stuff... Thank you guys for your effort!
Awesome funny ! I knew this guy , and he was like in charge of things in his world so to speak . When he talked he’d make a statement but every statement was followed by a “ hey “ but in question form . “ Hey ? “ I remember when I met him I wasn’t sure like , do I nod ? What is . . . So conversation were exhausting from all the affirmations . Thanks
Will never be another Darrell Hammond, super talented, like jimmy Fallon said he could stand in a sketch smoking, no lines and be funny, on a dana carvey note, his squatting monkeys tell no lies stand up special has to be in at least the top ten of all time, I remember chocking😄 laughing😄if you haven't seen it,you should✌️⚔️✌️
One if the best impressionists and this made me sad. Hearing Darrell say he decided not to do different people because someone else did them good. What a shame. And a loss. I LOVED JEAPARDY. PHIL DONAHUE. BILL CLINTON. HE WAS ALWAYS AWESOME.
Darrell’s and James Austin Johnson’s Trump impressions were better than Alec Baldwin’s. Other great Darrell Hammond impressions were of Sean Connery, Bill Clinton and Al Gore 👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆👑👑👑
On SNL, maybe... I was doing Walken in the 80s because I had a friend who knew him and his wife Georgianne. My friend was the first to really nail it and then we all started doing it in our group.
@@spenser9908 Yeah, imagine trying to make Joe Biden into a loveable character when we know he's a pedophile who showered with his own underage daughter, possibly murdered his first wife so he could marry his kids' babysitter, and is completely controlled by China and Ukraine.

@@spenser9908that’s not fair. He was never edgy or dangerous. His comedy comes from observation and imitation and creating comedic characters. Perfectly.
All politicians are fodder... period. Notice how they do Bush Sr. Bush. Jr. Clinton(s), Trump, and even Biden... so if you're butthurt that they're talking about Trump, it just shows you reek of hypocrisy. Perhaps your skin as as thin as the multiple-times cheating on wives with divorces five-times draft-dodging, six-times bankrupt, failed steaks, airline, casino, knowingly running fraudulent Orange Shitgibbom used car salesman.
Anyone doing Trump impressions is a Hack, IMO Like Norm Macdonald used to say, he's already a Parody It's a Hat on a Hat It's like doing an impression of a Wall It's already there, standing in front of you
My favorite is when Spade asks the guest a question and Dana answers it like he’s the one being interviewed

The pausing in the lock box scenes were great. Just perfect
I’m so glad they brought up his gore. Such a fantastic impression that people don’t praise enough!
Thanks Darrell Hammond! That first debate was genius. It never gets old.

Man, happy to see Darrell. Huge fan. Thank you. Much appreciated
Darrell Hammond is great. Maybe one day we'll hear him answer a question.
Darrell is a talented dude. One of SNL’s real pillars of talent.

Dana, Keeping it 100, you are doing a lot of the talking.
Damn this should have more views and likes
it does
Seriously
Darrell Hammond was my favorite cast member of SNL, after Farley. He was just so talented, and his presence was amazing on the show.

24:48 - 26:43 The gangster impression is so funny.
Amazing.
Darrell is the best. My fave Conan guest.
Darrell did a hysterical bill Clinton
Hammond's book is awesome
I can't believe it took them that long to get to Connery. Brilliant

I’d start off with a sexy open handed slap. One of the funniest things Hammond did as Connery.
I loved his Bill Clinton, Hardball Chris Matthews, Jesse Jackson and my favourite Sean Connery impressions
Dana's clinton is so on point

Great show
This is great!
If i didnt know any better, Carvey & Spade look like brothers to me
The first Walken was Jay Mohr.
Kevin Pollack. You kids these days. Haha.

One of my favs was west side story parody who wrote that one?

Cadence 13 is a rockabilly/psychobilly reference.
Jay Mohr did the first Walken
Kevin Pollack was first.....and the Best.
@@toddstreet1734 Kevin Pollack himself said Jay Mohr did it first & watching him do it is how he learned the hook of stretching out vowels.
Kevin Pollack was the first Walken. Best Walken. Has a great "bit" interview with, "Bob & Tom."
Trump himself said Darrell does the best impression of him.
JESUS, Brad Gray sounds like Trapped in Paradise.
Spade takes the cocaine laugh to a new level.
Darrell's gangster sounds a lot like Gandolfini.
The old clinton is insanely good
Darrell’s and James Austin Johnson’s Trump impressions were better than Alec Baldwin’s. Other great Darrell Hammond impressions were of Sean Connery, Bill Clinton and Al Gore 👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆👑👑👑
Replacing Don Pardo since 2014, what a great job.
The master
Darrell is great. You two could learn something from him here..
darrell hammond's trump was the best one
I think Christopher Walken did the first great Walken impression.
Does Dana know he talks about his Biden impression on every single episode?
Or the failed sitcom with Mickey Rooney.
52:50
I’ll never understand why he wasn’t full time Trump. Soooooo much better than Alec Baldwin’s very cartoonish, personal animosity driven take.
Correct JAY MOHR
On SNL, maybe... I was doing Walken in the 80s because I had a friend who knew him and his wife Georgianne. My friend was the first to really nail it and then we all started doing it in our group.
Lol... He said after Alec Baldwin did Trump he killed it get it LOL😢
Yeah, Alec Baldwin is definitely killin'. One more and he'll be a serial killer.
Good interview but wish we heard more from Darrell 😃
Can you 3, and Downey and the other classics just get back together and save civilization already?
Dana, your Biden impression will never be half as good as Kyle Dunnigan's. Sorry.
Dana's too scared to offend. He's not funny anymore.

Get Horatio Sanz
Brad and Leo had some good moments but I hated it I like Dana's impressions of the movie allot better than the movie💜
Sad to hear you going political (Dana) especially in defense of the former president.

Dana is the worst/best humble bragger on record.
The one SNL cast member no one cares about or misses...where is he now?...still crying about no work.
Dana and Spade are starting to stink of Trump. Its a letdown.
Wrong tribe. I get it.
Metas sounds completely awful
