Wow, Basik is really taking things to new heights! It's incredible to see the crew exploring beautiful countries and connecting with the locals. Linh's culinary skills always leave me drooling! 🤤 And crossing borders really does open up a whole new world. I can imagine how challenging it must be with Compass, but the struggles are worth it. Your love for each other and genuine approach to life is really inspiring. Keep sailing, keep exploring, and keep spreading positivity! You guys are the greatest example of family, teamwork, and humanity. Til next time, sending you all the abundance of ALL things good! 🌟⛵️
You can take the chef out of the kitchen, but she will just find another kitchen to throw together another amazing culinary creation! That chicken Parmesan meal made me hungry!
My biggest surprise when I was in the jungle in the Yucatan was seeing plants/trees in their native settings. Rubber trees, scheffleras, pony tail palms and others were massive compared to the same potted plants I was selling at Pier One as house plants. And bromeliads growing in the trees were everywhere.

Linh is amazing in any kitchen. It makes it hard for us to enjoy going out to eat when she can whip up anything and it always taste better than the restaurants.
When you have friends life becomes much nicer especially when you can borrow their home while they're away. Very scenic area guys and I'm sure Linh was very much at home in that kitchen as compared to Basiks galley without the confinement and movement. Glad to see she was able to whip a gourmet dinner up because I was becoming hungry as she ventured out for the essentials . It's truly ridiculous it took hours to get a stamp on a document though but I guess that is life . Be careful and stay safe my friends God love ❤ ya all.
Well that was fun ‼️ Thanks guys for the opportunity to visit Guatemala. What happened to your driver for the week? See you next time. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨
Thanks for coming along with us. Our driver Nicholas spent the week with visiting relatives and will pick us up to take us back to Mexico later in the week. See you next week!
Gotta love it when you say, " filled with meat" be careful meat has a different flavor/taste/texture, when your in the Jungle near a lake in such a laid back country!!! Think, what's the most convenient to find, and there ya go!!!. I was in Guatemala the first time in 1979. The quetzal was worth 1 USD. In Panajachel my room was 1USD a night, 50 cents more for hot water. They had to start a fire. Also came with a small earthquake in early morning.
Great show of SA, but how much easier would life be without the dog! Not that I don't like Compass, but it is a great struggle in every country you arrive to! Anyway, love what you guys are doing and love to see Lihn cook, she's producing the lovliest and delicate dishes, cheers🍾
Yes, it would be easier to cruise and travel without a pet, but when you see how happy it makes Compass to have these experiences with us, you forget about it. He really does complete us.....even when he's naughty. Lol
As usual, you guys present such an interesting video. Teal, remember to favour the injured arm. Of course, that doesn't mean not to use it, but always protect it, and the exercise that you have limited it to should be generally sufficient to keep your range of motion. I am a lover of delicious food, and my mouth waters when ever you find a good eating place, including home.
What a beautiful house. You have wonderful friends. The scenery is wonderful. Is the outdoor market a daily experience or do they do it just once a week? Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Yes, it is a beautiful house. We have been friends with them for 20 years. Met them the first time we went sailing years ago. The outdoor markets are a daily occurrence and how they make their living. It is one part to sell their wares/goods and also how they socialize. Thank you for coming along with us!
We loved both the jungle and desert places. They are so different and have their own beauty. Compass loves to go anywhere that he can run. Unfortunately, both places we have to keep him on a leash because of the stray dogs, cats and other exotic animals and the diseases they carry with them.
Linh, I hope you didn't get too used to having that much kitchen space away from Basik! When you were walking along that one trail/dirt road, I was thinking Emma must be getting close to being as tall as Teal!
I actually prefer my kitchen because I know where everything is. The space is nice, but the counters were too high for me! Lol Emma is the perfect height between myself and Teal.
Not sure I will ever go to Santiago but, I enjoyed seeing your adventure in Guatemala.... To the Crew of SV Basik, Teal, Linh, Emma and Compass, have a safe, happy great Christmas and New Year, God Bless. Look forward to your future adventures (Panama Cannel right?).

We wonder this ourselves. It is an excellent marina with a great crew. Our guess is it is hard to get marine supplies here. They also have a great haulout facility and yard. Just too bad they can't handle our beam. 😊
I noticed no prices on the fruits and vegetables. You do realize you pay a up charge for being a tourist compared to the locals. You would save money if you had a local buying it for you to save money.
The gentleman who sees this as a great reason not to visit Guatemala should absolutely stay in the USA. There is certainly no areas of high crime and violence there. The sidewalks are lined with gold and are beautiful… ok I just drove through Portland and Seattle last month and the sidewalks were full and certainly not beautiful. Point being simple common sense will keep you safe and if it makes you nervous DONT GO. I’m guessing by your comment you have never been so how Emma chose to dress is how 90% of the young women dress. Santiago is a Mayan town the locals have dressed the same forever the locals don’t mind the tourists and understand we have different cultures. This interaction is a great reason to travel seeing how different we all are and yet so much the same.

As with all countries, there are areas of high crime. In this case area, we felt and were very safe. 10:25 - What a picturesque cash register!
When we walked up it was just sitting under the table unattended. Such a safe and trusting place.
I am with Emma - and boy did that dinner look fantastic. I would gain 50 pounds in no time. Love those cream sauces.
Linh has somehow figured out how to cook these tasty dishes and we hardly gain weight. We don't know how she has done it, but she has.
I spent a week in San Pedro on the Lake. A wonderful trip I will remember forever. Beautiful place to stay.

Very true. It's amazing what Linh has created in any kitchen. Emma and I just sit back and enjoy her food. We are very lucky.

Omg Linh, your cooking always makes me hungry. You are an amazing cook. Your crew is so lucky to have you. Love your video.

I loved that! It's a whole different world from where you've been. It's amazing what crossing a border can do.
