Fat Mike has always been a solid dude when it comes to music, and his comment at 2:50 on is true, The internet has ruined music sales, but in a way it was a blessing to truly talented bands. It forces them to tour to grow a fan base, and touring typically makes a band so much better. And having to tour weeds out so many shit bands and leaves more room for talent to step in.

Every time someone downloads a song for free from their favorite band, from a torrent for example, they are just putting a nail in the coffin of their favorite bands longevity... kind of a modern paradox.
That's why I buy things I like and Fat is just one of the labels that I always buy from NUFAN, NOFX, Lagwagon, Swingin Utters. I have physical copies of all of their albums.
records cost €20 in a shop and new records only have like 12 songs, its a ripp off, I buy my Nofx, rancid, Social distortion cd's but its a waste of money to buy a random cd, well it is for a student

In fact, fat mike came to chile (south america), and now, he like chile so much that he come here every year (probable because we are very poor) the true is that for they is a great business make concerts here at chile.
Apparently it's been a pretty good deal to come down to south america now, because they are here in Brazil all the time now. How can he even think things like "...punk rock is not for poor countries..."? I'm pretty sure they have sold a lot of records here in south america, and i'm also pretty sure they are making some money here, otherwise they wouldn't come down so many times. I like NOFX a lot, but this guy is such a wanker sometimes. Now they don't sell records as much as they used to sell, even in america or europe, so south america must be a good deal for them, because 10 years a go you wouldn't see much american punk rock bands so often, even with our huge punk scene at that time and currency way stronger than now. Now it seems every penny counts, right? The "poor"people can be an interesting way to get some money. In the other hand we always had bad religion, slayer, etc... and other great bands that are probably more open minded.
I still buy CD's. There's only one good record shop in my area and that's HMV. They don't always have what I'm looking for and they almost went out of business last year. If they do go out of business I'll still buy CD's on the internet, but I like to see it in front of me before I buy it. It's my fucking generations fault the music industry is failing. I just wish more of them would buy CD's and stop downloading music. Rant over.

I really don't know if I'm a fan of NoFX aside from some singles....but I love Fat Mike, and think his level of success is inspiring
