It's got to be jam first then cream. It's all about density, Jam weighs more than cream. If you put the cream on first then the Jam sinks into it unless the cream is overwhipped, so if you want nice layers then it's Jam then cream, and no I don't overthink things lol

I don't know if you've seen 'Malcom in the Middle' It's a US show, but every time I watch you, I always think about the episode when malcoms mom does a hot dog eating contest. She wins by taking her time(if that makes sense), 😂 But you always remind me of that episode. 😅 I literally Also, I'm a HUGE FAN ❤❤
You should try taking a cupcake and breaking it in half. Take the bottom half and make a cupcake sandwich by putting it on top. I've heard that that's the correct way to eat a cupcake. 🧁
For me its, jam and then cream simply because we used a single jar between the whole family and we didn't want cream in the jar even though we used a seperate spoon for the cream. However what might gross people out is that we used to put margerine and vegemite on ours too. Can you guess where we're from? Lol. I like a good cheese sandwich, but putting dry, grated cheese on buttered bread! We always mix the grated cheese with some mayo [ or Miracle Whip ], and some green relish; so much better, and the cheese doesn't fall out :)
We've seen her throw down on a lot worse, this almost looks like I could eat this. And that's coming from someone with IBS who cannot stuff themselves or risk being bloated and sick, lol. Those strawberries look like they are on steroids, I've never seen any that big.
As a true Cornishman the only reason cream goes on first is because you need the jam to cover up the taste of the awful cream. In Cornwall the cream always goes on top as our Cornish clotted cream is so delicious we don’t need sweet jam to cover the taste of our cream. Come on Shuts come to Cornwall and try a harvest festival pasty and a full Cornish cream tea.
Cream then jam every time. The cream serves as a moisture barrier for the jam or else the scones just gets all soggy and falls apart. Serves the same function as butter or mayo for sandwiches.
